Liked the third chapter very much...I can't wait to see how you solve the problem of Hermione's sightlessness. :D

    Hello,

I finally joined the site so I could be fair and review stories. With that said, I have enjoyed your story so far. Because it is only three chapters in, and I don't know you, I cannot really tell where the story is going detail wise. One of the reasons I enjoy your story so far is because most stories with a "blind" plot are obviously written by people who have never met or spent any time with someone who has a visual disability. I had the joy of growing up with a best frind who is blind, my frist boyfriend was blind, and when my childhood best friend recently got married, it was to a guy who is alos blind. Ironically, my best friend was part of the reason I grew up to do what I do, working with children who have disabilities.

Enough about my resume, on towards the probably unwanted advice. Hermione should do research about how to easily adapt to the world. She seems to have the determination, but is lost about the specifics. When someone goes blind, they often take mobility classes to learn to move around. One of the first things people are lectured on at length is to NEVER move furniture without prompting. I'm sure headquarters is busy, but it seems to me that Ms Hermione needs to start asserting herself. She should get a walking stick to learn to move about, making Draco's furniture mines less successful. Also, my students use Kurzweil reading software and JAWS. they're great tools. one reads written material out loud in print, and the other reads internet sites and other comptuer documents. With braille keyboards and printers, many people with visual disabilities are able to surf the web. Thanks to onlone banking and shopping, my friends are able to take care of their errands without depending on public transportation or feeling like a burden to others. Hermione could adapt a charm or something (maybe with Arthur's help?) so that she can research still. Moreover, braille takes many years to learn to read with ones fingers, but there are special braille typewriters, keyboards/printers, and these nifty little signature guides, letter guides and punch guides for people to be able to still write/ take notes either in braille or print. One blind fic had hermione blind and learning braille in a day, which just isn't possible.

i love how ginny made the "see" comment with crookshanks. I often forget my friends cannot see, and we make private jokes. I spend 99% of my time with people with disabilities, and there's nothing worse than people who are not used to others with disabilities tip-toeing around it, it's the elephant in the room that no one talks about. i've bothered you enough, but I really like your fic so far and thanks for not falling into stereotypes as well as showing sensitivity and knowledge of the disability you're writing about.

    thanks,
    jillian

I love that Draco is still so Draco....and that Molly showed him up. I think Molly will end up being a rock for him. And he needs it.

Hermione seems determined to live her life....very Gryffindor. How will she deal not being able to read. Is there some kind of magical Braille or spell to help her "read" books? Or will Draco help her?

Very different from your other pieces. I like it.

Wow, sounds really interesting. How do you keep up with so many stories? I can barely keep up with my one WIP! They are all brilliant. This one sounds pretty juicy though...I can't wait to see where you go with it! Look forward to the next chapter!

Lovely....I'm working on an angsty fic as well but won't post it for a while....can't wait for your perspective...its totally different from yours but has messed up Draco/Hermione too. So much fun, no?

PS: I don't have your damn email but I wanted to respond to this from your review of Drinking Game (its the only thing I hate from AFF.net.

You wrote: Fantastically written although there was one thing that bugged me: it's Ogden's Old Firewhiskey, not finest.

My reply: First thanks for that info and then I got to thinking, can you imagine this line: "Draco poured Ogden's Old in Hermione's Old..." LMFAO! LOL!!!! I nearly keeled over from laughing! :-) go to my LJ account if you want to reply....LOL
