Yes, I suppose it is what he feels he has to do... But damn, it sure is irritating. Love the plot twist! totally wasnt expecting it, despite it being such a Dumbledore thing to do. YAY!

great chapter. to be honest, i didn't put too much stock in dumbledore's riddle, so it was nice to finally figure out what that old coot was talking about lol. also, i'm sure you answered this before, but will there be slash in the story? i only ask because it seems like their feelings are gradually escalating, and they will want to experience it at a special time, and i don't know if they would prefer to do that before/after the climactic battle. also...

you were Meander?!? i LOVED "Learning Life Over" from start to finish, it was one of the first novel-length stories I bothered giving a chance (usually one-shot preference) and absolutely adored. i guess i should have made a bit of a connection (i might have did!), but, like you said, you were figuring out your writing style, and it seems a bit different from your work now. in fact, thinking about the author name, 'Meander' was an apt choice for that period of discovery, wasn't it? :)

can't wait to get updates of your various works!!! :D

I don't trust Dumbledore. First he's all like "Harry, I must kill you when the time comes so that I may defeat Voldemort with your sacrifice." Now he's all like "Harry, I must kill myself so that when the time comes you may defeat Voldemort with my sacrifice."

Its like he's got the script written out in his mind and he's going to end this thing with a sacrifice one way or another.

Keep up the great work. (Also, how funny would it be if Draco and Ron end up all buddy-buddy at the end? Ha!)

    about #45...

    I have a question..or two.

    1. Will Dumbledore be let in on the secret of the relationship
    between Harry & Severus?

    2. I was reading some stories from way back when and the thing that
always bugged me is the sudden stop of writing authors do, because
they lost interest, they relied too much on reviews, they lost
focus, they couldn't 'find' their muse....or my personal favorite
used continously 'my computer died'. There's a lot of 'dead' computers
    out there.

I've always felt, if you're going to write a story have it written out
FIRST, post it, then make changes as you go. That way if you do hit a
writers block OR are not getting the 'many reviews' you desire, at least
the story is written and you're not cheating your readers who ACTUALLY
enjoyed the story and want to see it END.

Okay, the question is...have you ever wanted to just up and leave
a story, because of low reviews or you felt 'uninspired'?

    Be honest.

PS-I mostly ignore your responses to other folks, BUT I thought
you said you didn't have another author's name here? Were your
    other stories bad or something?

    I'm just asking...

i figured that was it but didn't want to assume. i think the lack of summary on your profile kind of cinched it for me. it was a good start so i think you should be proud of it. i enjoyed it nonetheless. by the way kudos to harry's cruel side hitting something home to dumbledore and i agree that it certainly does seem to a lot of people not just dumbledore that harry, the person, is not "real". also the silent acceptance and snape's championing of harry was refreshing. Viva!

Awesome, yet again! It is frusterating though that Dumbledore still has to keep his secrets, and lie even to harry after all of this. Bah. It makes me feel like I am back in Deathly Hollows again... lol

Love the Snape and Harry dynamic.

Excellent set of chapters. Dumbledore likes to make self-important decisions. Seriously.

    Keep up the great work!

    about # 44...

    1. I want everything settled. I want Voldemort gone and the Death
Eaters under arrest so that I can be with my boyfriend and my dad and
    things can be normal.

-awww..that was so freakin' sweet, that my tooth fell out. :-)

    2. Well, you did a plot twist...you haven't done those in like...forever???

i can't help but think that there is a bad reason/motive behind this kind of decision. nonetheless the "caught-in-a-embarrassing-act" scene was brilliant in how understated it was. also i think that may have been the first time harry casually referred to snape as "dad" in his thoughts without reacting to it. i am currently reading a story by meander and it shares elements that remind me somewhat strongly of your own. it was written in 2006 i believe. Viva!

Harry should have come up with some elaborate lie while he was with Snape. He could have really milked some sympathy from his friends.
