Your chapters are always timely for a study break :) Lucius is just full of lies isn't he. Well, hopefully everything will go according to plan, or at least most of it because otherwise there wouldn't be a story! And I think Portillo Lopez is slowly warming to Harry & Draco, no matter how much she believes she must be against him & suspicious etc.

    Next please! ;)

I'm hugging my cat extra hard tonight. I am disappointed in both Draco and Harry.

Will Nihil's destruction come in the way of a collective spell that tears apart his current form and 'returns him to both life and death?'

On the Darker Spells note: I believe that the older the language, the higher proportion of spells. After all if more time has passed, it allows individuals who speak the language to explore variations in meaning of words/sounds, and create more spells and spell variations.

Thank you for updating once more, please do so again when you have the opportunity.

    1. For some reason, while reading the beginning, I
thought the confrontation would be in this chapter
and this type of scene popped in my head. *Harry
talking to Draco one more time, before they put their
plan into work. Then, Harry turns to Draco, holds his
face gently in his hands and says...'No matter what
you hear, remember that I DO Love you and always will!*

    ...and so forth.

    2. I liked the HArry in this chapter, in a way it's like
he's growing up and coming into his own. No longer depending
on friends to back him up. He's actually showing he CAN
think on his own, when the situation calls for it. :-)

    3. ...and what's up with a black cat?

so basically Lopez is a vigilant which pretty much makes her a murderer and therefore the last person who should be training Aurors. I hope she gets killed off at some point in the story.

Ch 39: I love that Draco said Harry was "More intuitive. More intelligent." I know he meant when dealing with the ones he loved, but it still made me stop.

Oh Harry, so Slytherian (sp?) of him...

I love Hermione in this story. She still thinks she knows better than everyone, but she can still learn to bend HER logic to her friend's emotions... with time and a lot of patience from Harry. I admit I wouldn't have been as patient as Harry's been with her constant suspicion of Draco and inability to realise how much they love each other. Or does she? Does she actually realize the depth of emotions and devotion between them I wonder?

Aha, well I understand your using the compatible magic for friendship. Their relationship had to begin SOMEWHERE and I doubt they would be spending time togheter at all had they not have the compatible magic, even if they are attending the same classes. They had an unpleasant history of rivalry between them ya know? So I won't condone your using it that way ^^

Argh, where's LUCIUS??! And what could Draco have to sacrifice again for this memory spell? Aaah, so exciting!

I have spent 4 days catching up with that I hadn't read of Soldier's Welcome and just finished Ceremonies of Strife. This sequel is amazing. You manage to make Harry and Draco's relationship as fragile as any other relationship is even though they have compatible magic. You did not abuse of THAT convenient link between them to throw them togheter either, which would have been tempting for any other fanfiction author I read. Instead, you focused on what is really important : the evolution of the characters and their feelings for each other. You do this all the time in your work and I love reading you for that reason.

It's original that you involved Parseltongue in the necromancy ritual. I wouldn't have thought about it, but now that it's out there in your fic, it makes sense : if there were spells and ritual in Greek instead of Latin, why not in other old and magical language such as Parseltongue? It also makes sense that the language used for the ritual influences its nature and power. It also leaves place for much theories, such that would explain why Latin necromancy is darker than Parseltongue necromancy. Is it because it is a much more personal language than any other, making the spells spoken in Parseltongue reflect the caster's personality? Because snakes are by nature less prone to moral deviancies, like greed, envy and desire? Which would explain why the language of snakes creates a neutral kind of magic rather than the darker kind Latin produces.

I wonder what's up with Lucius though... he's weird. Almost like he's one of Nihil's puppet. I'll be waiting for the next chapter and I know you will make every word magical (pun very much intended lol) just like you always do =)

Very interesting. As usual, excellent job! The dead unicorns strike me more as a warning/indicator of the world's level of balance in the natural world than that of having a role as 'creatures.' I had this strange daydream of them somehow smothering Nhil in a flurry of translucent hooves, whinnies, and horns stabbing through his illusions/faces until there was nothing but the 'humanity' of him left over. Am I getting warmer?

Ch38:Oh so Draco can now see something through Harry's perspective... I love the little, "he's smarter because of me" comment Draco thought. I'm intrigued by Lopez's comments...

I get the feeling Harry doesn't have a plan other than go in wands a'blazin. That should be fun.
