Well, sheesh! They finally get settled and proclaim their love and you split them up?! This poor couple can't catch a break. I can't wait to see what you do to them next. Thanks, HG4eva

I'm a little concerned with all that Severus has seen. If he saw the oral sex Hermione gave Rabastan, he might be pissed off. I know I would. The idea that she could get over her trauma for someone that she doesn't love and not for Severus, whom she does...urg. Are you going to blame it on the curse?

Wow, I haven't been able to read this story in forever! I am really glad I got to get caught up tonight, but even more that I didn't have to wait for more story as I read all of that. Merlin, there's so much... I hate that she slept with Rabastan and enjoyed it so much, despite her heartache over it. I don't know how Severus found it in himself to try and forgive her for it, but for the sake of the story I am glad he did. It was so nice to have two chapters that were almost happy at the end of all of that stress. I want Lucius to live a nice long, painful, horrifying, never-ending agony of a life and soon! And, I hope Teddy doesn't get hurt anymore as they struggle to beat back the dark. Thank you once again! HG4eva

how could Minnerva force/accept/agree with Severus' oath to "love and protect Hermione no matter what."

she knows that he doesnt know about the affair, then he is forced to forgive even if he doesnt want to. (may be that was her intent.... to force him forgive so he and Hermione would know peace and love. may be Minnerva learned from Albus after all.)

but what if Hermione cease to love Severus .... or may she would to separate in the future, the oath would be a curse in that instant.

i think that getting an oath from one side while letting the other (who actually cheated) is an act of hypocrisy.

i would have considered the oath romantic if he had made it after knowing the truth. specially if both of them take the same oath.

anyway, that can be corrected when both sides take the marriage vows.

    great chapter as always.

That went better than I thought it would.I am glad he found out though, so now there are no secrets again. Hermione knows now what Severus intentions are, and she knows not to cheat again if she doesn't want to lose Severus! Serverus seems to be maturing, because he reacted alot better than I thought he would, Hell, he reacted better than I would. I just hope he doesn't dwell on what he saw. Looking forward to the next one!

Well, you did it again. You created a chapter that was not only well written, but full of emotion. I like this Severus. He has regained his strength of heart and also some forgiveness. Usually, I would consider legillimancy to be an invasion of privacy the way it was done, but the things between the two would have only festered and gotten worse. So I take it that Hermione changed her mind about men since the snake is gone? The scenes with Teddy should continue to be fun! I look forward to more story!

Fizzy Lifting potion? I guess there's a little "Willy Wonka" in us all, eh?

The Brit-ism I believe is "balls to it". I cheated a little and googled. Mainly found in reference to a show called "Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps". Somehow I doubt that this is it. Let us know.

Very nice chapter...I am glad that Severus has been given his purpose back - and his magic. Is he going to let anyone know other than Hermione? He seems to be well on his way to being healed both body and soul. I hope Hermione doesn't ruin everything by keeping her secrets. If her liaison with Rabastan comes out in the heat of the moment, I don't know if he will forgive her. She needs to come clean before they get intimate again. I am loving Teddy - you have a solid character in him. Well done.
The writing in this chapter is why I have stuck with the story. I know you and your muse have your way of telling this story, but I just wanted you to know that even without the shock value, I would read it for the chapters you have written so very well!!!

Glad to see Hermione and Severus together again, but they still have a long way to go! I want them to be together, and I want to blame what Hermione did on the snake, but I still think she owes Severus an apology, and alot of tlc to make up for her horrendous behavior! Does Severus know she was cutting? Will she continue to do so? What of Ratbastan? I'm glad Minerva gave him a wand oath! I hope he doesn't hurt Severus! Too bad about his feelings! I don't care one way or the other about him! He is a rat who set out to steal and use someone else's love, and deserves everything he gets! He thinks he is in love with Hermione, when he doesn't know the meaning of it! There is alot more to love than sex, and if he really loved her, he would let her go! I too hope there is a happy ending for Severus, Remus, Teddy and Ava! They deserve it! Draco and Harry also deserve it, and maybe Hermione as well! I also agree with the previous poster who says the wizarding world needs shrinks!

I hate to say this, but I think if psychiatrists knew about the wizarding world, they'd get obscenely rich off the new market of clients. Granted in a time of escalating hostilities and a new dark plot, nobody really has the time to just sit and talk it out and deal with all that's happened to them. I'm not complaining, just venting a bit and I'm sure you would concede that particular point. Severus's situation makes me want to cry. He had a pretty horrible exsistance before the war, a double agent, not trusted fully by either side except for Dumbledore and perhaps McGonagall. And he lost that when Albus died. Then to loose his position, his trust with the order even after Harry Potter knew of his true loyalties, and his magic. Everything that he was has been lost to him with the only light being Hermione and she's been through her own horrors to the point that she's become a cutter to deal with her emotional pain. I do hope that with the conclusion of this story that Severus can at least regain his magic as a wizard. The loss of nearly any usefullness beyond his brewing abilities leaves him with the potential travel down an emotional downward spiral in which he could become suicidal. If it wasn't for his need to protect Teddy, I'd hate to think of what he'd let happen to himself. I also feel sorry for Remus. It seems he's being bombarded with echos of his dead friends as a result of that binding spell performed when at school. Though I wonder at it's surfacing now and not before or during the first war. Also if the bond would allow him to feel the deaths of those involved because that could have been a clue that Peter hadn't died when he framed Black for his betrayal. I'm sure I'll find out more in regards to that as I read further. I do hope that for all the darkness this story has, that at there will be to some degree, a happy ending. I am hopefull that they are close to discovering Severus with Harry working Guard at Kingsly's estate. At the very least, he may be there to help if Severus manages an escape plan with the aid of Teddy's wandless abilities. Though I do have one question in regards to the food he 'transfigures' for lack of a better term. I could have sworn that wizards and witches couldn't create either food or money. Maybe since he's working with food, his ability to transmute and increase the quantity found a bit of a loophole in that rule. Of course, he's also a natural healer with no training. I have a bad feeling that Teddy may end up being a part of the prophesy. He's such a powerful child, to do what he does without spells, incantations or a wand. I Pray Lucius doesn't discover the boy's abilities.

Part of me also wants to smack Minerva. To a degree, I can understand her paranoia, but at the same time I do feel it was unfounded. Severus had just spent a year, half of which he was in a coma, the other half cut off from the wizarding world, and slowly recovering. And she doesn't explain anything to him. She made demands followed by threats and part of me thinks she was lashing out due to his part in Albus's death. Snape did not deserve that kind of treatment. She could have at least let him know of the rise of a new threat and the mess of the government even if she couldn't have given details. Then again, I was angry at Albus for also keeping things way too quiet. If Harry didn't have the help of Hermione and Ron, the whole gambit with the Elder wand would have failed. It's nice to have such faith in their friendship but they spent that whole seventh book walking a razor's edge when just a little more proper information could have given them a clearer objective and where to look for the answers. Sorry, now I'm ranting about the book. I'm certain things will continue to get worse before they get better. but I do hope that they do improve for our heros.

I do admmit to still being leery of Lestrange. You've given no reason for me to be, yet at the same time, it's the face that he seems so trustworthy that somehow, makes me concerned. Either that or I'm just reacting as badly as Snape to see him as someone who's essentially replaced him. He's even managed to attract and seduce Hermione. Even if it's only the one time, I don't think she'll be able to keep it secret from Severus, if nothing else, because Lestrange loves to gloat. And if he truly feels more deeply for Hermione as you seem to be alluding to, there were will be competition for her attentions when Severus returns which is just going to up the angst between them. It seems you love to put your readers through the ringer but you seem to have quite the following so you must be doing something right.

I still think most in the wizarding world would benefit from seeing a shrink. I think so far, Harry is the most stable of most of the characters I've seen, then again, we haven't seen that much of him. In a lot of ways his upbringing echos Severus's so maybe he's made of stronger stuff in a way since he's managed to survive neglect and abuse for years as a child.

Okay, I'm just rambling now so I'll leave off here. take care and I hope you keep writing.

so the snake is finally dead.

from what i understand, the snake is only responsible for the last encounter, so that does not excuse Hermione's actions prior to to that.

if Hermione really wants to be back to Severus, she should tell him about the affair. the affair is known by many people (Remuse, Arthur, Molly, Nivvel, Minnerva and Harry), so it should not be covered ....... or her life with him we be at danger from any angry comment of the said characters about her in the future. but it is understandable that Hermione would choose the easy way not the correct way.

it was funny to see the truce between Severus and Lupine falls in so fast, old habits die hard.

i think it is right for Severus to refuse Minnerva offer.
why Minnerva insists to put fire with oil then wonders why fire is erupting every five minutes.

Severus was half blood, so the manor should be "the Prince manor" not Snapes.

Well, I hope that they get the truth now because there is no way that Severus will be able to live with her if he thinks she did him wrong. I am sure Rabastan will lie or at least try to put the blame on Hermione, but I hope they get this fixed soon. Severus has been through enough...
i am also interested in knowing what is up with Minerva. She is absolutely the most inept, unorganized, shouldn't be, leader. If that is all the Order has, then they are not going to win this one at all.
