I do like the notion of this story. But would have felt more satisfied with a different outcome. You don't just suddenly spring to the conclusion of being over it and able to let it go. People who quit obsessions cold turkey, especially when forced without an option or a plan, don't always do so well. When you went for the easy pay-off I was hoping it was a rouse, that she would walk home with Harry and then off herself to be with him. Or that she'd gone to his tomb to try something maniacal. I just felt cheated out of something that could have been really stunning. You did a great job with penning Severus' character- making him cold, and forcing what is best for her, even though he must be aching inside too. And Hermione's obsession was well played, I just felt cheated out of a stronger ending. It would have been more rewarding for me as the reader to have something more profoundly tragic (and yes, I do love a good story where they end up together or they end up happy or in your case where she ends up happy) but given the tone of the story and the progression of her obsession-- it didn't happen overnight so one quick yank away from him isn't going to cure it-- I had hoped for something more dire. But I commend you on the idea. It's a clever one.

That was very bittersweet. Like dark chocolate.
