*very happy sigh* I just love how this ended. Love love love it. It felt really good how Draco's conversation with his parents went. I don't think Harry's friends understood as well but time will help. I thought it was very interesting how his friends thought he might have changed since he was able to send Greyback to his death in taking out the Unseen but I think his time as Voldemort actually made him more of a leader. As a teen he really wanted to be the one who took responsibility for the risks they took and he felt extremely guilty anytime someone else was hurt. But as a leader you sometimes need to make hard decisions and sometimes even send someone to their death. It's really weird how Dumbledore like it sounds. He sent Greyback to his death for the greater good... wow that sounds so bizarre. And Greyback died happy in his mission.

-Draco manning up and taking hold of his own destiny, one not dictated by his parents. After all the shit he has seen and been through, it's no shocker that he would simply want peace.

    about #42..

    1. Salvation? Salvation??? I am going to throw my shoe at you. What happened to
    traditional names???

    2. I actually feel sorry for the misguided wolf, but it's a means to an end. :-/

    3. It's good to see that Harry's friends are behind him, but it would have been
nice to see where both boys would have run away to for awhile.

    4. By the way, someone needs to figure out that the only reason Harry tested 'Dark'
is because of his life experiences. He's still the same Harry, but he had become involved
with too many dark spells in his past [not necessarily any he cast]...that would have affected
    his core eventually over time.

*sigh* I was so happy to see that Greyback had not lost faith in his lord. And I'm actually very glad that he will die happy doing a final service for his lord. I think that's a very good reward for someone who was so faithful even though he put his faith in an evil crazy wizard. It is easy to pity him and I'm glad he won't find out the truth.

-I live for the moments between the trio, they wont always agree but will have each others back till the end.

-Although my sympathies for Harry. His lover doesn't like his friends and his friends don't like his lover. So he is saddled with the role of peacekeeper and making sure no disparaging comments are made by all parties involved. Perhaps one day those 3 will be able to at least maintain some civility, at least for Harry's sake.

Seeing as how the Ministry might not be changing there views in the long run, what does that mean for Pansy and Astoria, like are they still being perused? While Pansy, through her father has what could be considered 'death eater affiliations' Astoria comes from the more neutral family yes?

-Fenrir my be an insane murderer, but holy god is he loyal. Even knowing he could die in the mission he believes the dark lord has given him, he still doesn't hesitate to obey. And he even took care of the loose end that was Lestrange.

-So has the Ministry pretty much washed there hands of Lucius? He did escape from prison and is still unaccounted for. Draco and Narcissa will perhaps be able to start over in a different country but wouldn't Lucius's status as a fugitive always have them looking over their shoulder? Harry doesn't seem to be all that bothered by Lucius not serving out his sentence either. I assume everyone just has bigger fish to fry than one man who wouldn't dare step out of line now.

-Draco can be clingy/pouty....but in a somewhat endearing way. It's like a kid who doesn't like the attention being taken away from him and stomps and pouts about it. He wants to be Harry's everything and doesn't like having to share a place in Harry's heart with his friends.

Harry taking the fight too the unseen. Poor bastards are about to have their precious 'futures' unraveled.

Yeah and the prompt was inspired by your amazing writing ability with murder/mystery and I was curious about a Harry who loses a morality chain in Hermione and lets the anger start to swallow him up.

-waits patiently for the next chapter-

I felt great pity for Greyback's fanaticism. I'm left with oddly mixed feeling. I like it. :)

Yikes it's like dealing with petulant children. While there is a history of dark wizards being the one too cause the biggest issues, it's still not fair to judge people simply based on there affinity. Sirius said it best

"We all have good and evil inside of us"(or something close to that.

Even if the person has a particular attitude and fascination with the darker side of the arcane it does not meen they have or will ever commit an actual crime.

-Nice too see Kingsley FINALLY have Harry's back althought that was slightly sneaky of him too do what he did. If he had simply placed Harry under Auror protection, there was a high chance Harry could give them the slip if he felt like it or otherwise do something drastic if pushed. With Hermione and Ron looking after him there is that bond of friendship/pseudo family that will prompt harry too take lesser measures if he plans on running and possibly letting slip to his too closest confidants on where he might run too.

-And of all the death eaters to get away it just had too be Rabastan Lestrange or Fenrir freaking Greyback. Fenrir in particular is probably feeling like an absolute fool for being tricked and is the last person you want having a vendetta against you. Hopefully he keeps his rage centered on Harry and doesn't go after one of his loved ones instead. Or maybe he is still under the illusion that Harry is actually Voldemort tricking the ministry and this is all part of some long game. Either way, not someone you want out of your sight.

-And now wizengamot is actually going to try and take action against the super secret clandestine organization that they should have been keeping a better eye on in the first place. Pretty high chance they somehow screw this up.

Prompt: Another murder/mystery kind of story that hits a little closer to home for Harry. Ministry politics and blood prejudices.

    Title: *whatever you decide*

    Paring(s): Drarry, Hermione/Ron, background Ginny/Luna, past Draco/Astoria

Setting: Canon divergent in that Harry and Ginny never got back together but remained good friends and he, Ron and Hermione took a more active role in politics and used there influence to rise quickly in the Ministry in an attempt to change the wizarding world for the better after the horrors they witnessed in the war. Draco and Astoria were married soon after hogwarts but there is no real love in the marriage but they both are compelled to obey there families but have been unable to produce an heir.

time frame: Set a decade after the battle of Hogwarts

Plot: After newly elected Minister of Magic Hermione Granger-Weasley is assassinated under his watch by "assumed" Death Eaters while under his protection, Harry starts to slip towards the dark as his need for avenge the death of his best friend consumes him. As a result of the attack, old prejudices thought left in the past are reigniting and the pure blood community is on the receiving end of intense public scrutiny. In what is at first an attempt to curry good-will for his family and friends by helping the savior of the wizarding world track the killers, Draco finds himself instead used as a pawn by multiple forces hoping to push Harry over the edge and bring about a new era of darkness. While trying to unravel the web of conspiracies surrounding him Harry must fight off the darkness growing inside of him and try to come to grips with the growing need he feels for his former school nemesis. Not everything is as it seems as the truth starts to come to light and Harry is forced to make some hard decisions and alter his views on what is 'good' and what is evil.

Characterization: You do it so well in all of your stories that I have pretty much nothing to add. Draco has grown a bit more of a spine over the years but is still cautious. After the death of Hermione Harry is steadily growing more comfortable using morally ambiguous tactics to discover the truth behind her murder, worrying not only his remaining friends and family(weasleys) but also more savvy pockets in the wizarding community who feel that anger could be turned on them if he starts to think that a larger group of pure bloods were behind what happened. Ron is in grieving and thus not able to curb the worst of Harry's choices.

thanks for the go-ahead about the prompt, I have others but don't want to drown you in requests. No rush and no pressure. If you don't wish to write it, please by all means don't feel obligated too.

-waits patiently for the next chapter-

Those people in the courtroom are so stupid! Harry didn't do anything wrong and it's still not enough. Stupid stupid people.

Unfortunately, tired or not, Harry cannot be 'done' with this. If he flees, they (the Ministry or the Unseen) will hunt him down. If he stays, he will have to be involved in taking care of the Unseen somehow, someway to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again.
He cannot just say "I am finished with all this!" and I think somewhere in his heart of hearts, he knows this.
The Ministry is going to have to rethink their whole "Dark = Evil" nonsense and think about "Dark or Light, anyone can be evil and we only punish people for WHAT THEY ACTUALLY DO IN REAL LIFE!"

    about #40...

Offend J.G.??? I'll throw a monkey at him, then hide behind Harry & Draco. :-)

Anyway, as intriguing & exciting this story is getting, I can't help BUT wonder how
Fenrir ['blanking on his last name'] is dealing with the blow that his Lord wasn't....his Lord.
    Kinda feeling sorry right now.

Yes... this chapter helps A LOT :) Those unseen are totally creepy and unless they can be arrested or something I don't see them wanting to give up on taking Harry's magic because lets face it... they are used to doing whatever they want. Whether Harry is welcome back in society or not he will still probably have to be on watch or somewhere protected or not obvious because who knows how many of those people are around. I liked Hermione and Ron being shocked to find out that Harry and Draco are a couple :)
