Reviews for Bard of Morning's Hope

Things are never easy for Harry, want's to do his job to the best of his abilities but is hampered by politics and having to worry about public perception.

-Ballsy move to willingly choose veritaserum. Dennis is either very confident or he is trying to get Harry to lower his guard. Yeah, definitely seeing some cracks in what was a cool facade. I like seeing harry call out the hypocrisy of Dennis manipulating the system. A crime is a crime.

-So Dennis knows about Harry's little trick.

-I can't decide if it is heartwarming or scary that people like the Bard and those with a similar mentality still look up to Harry while doing what they/her/she does.

"I wish I knew whether I could trust you," Harry whispered.

That....was kind of sad. These 2 have some history, and the thought that the Bard might be someone harry knows personally or has fought alongside is tragic.

This whole situation leaves Harry with more questions then answers. A 'possible' muggelborn who views Harry as a hero, now thats a needle in a haystack.

Hopefully when Harry returns home, Ron and Malfoy won't be trying to end each other.

-waits patiently for the next chapter-

-Ah some things will never change I suppose, just as the sun rises and sets Malfoy will feel the need to be a lil shit to a Weasley lol. There is only so much that can be excused by grief. These people he is antagonizing are the only ones who give a shit about protecting him and his mother despite their past with them.

-Cool too see Ron try to take the high road even if it was just to mess with Draco. While I doubt Ron would ever support what the Bard is doing, the old him definitely would not have cared enough to try and stop it.

-I LOVED the interaction between Dennis and Harry. Both of them cool as a cucumber and Dennis freely showing he knows more than he should be able to without showing any real fear. You don't show your hand so quickly unless you are 100% sure you can get out of the situation unscathed.

-I also enjoyed how you had them both making good points. Dennis is right that the system is heavily unbalanced and unfair to the have-nots of society(I.E Muggle Borns). Blood and money still play a large role in the post war society and Harry does do his job and treat every criminal equally, once they are out of his hands, if they have enough clout they can just skate out of any charges against them. For all Harry knows it is the same failed system that created the Bard. But Harry is also right that all lives matter, even ones as repugnant as death eaters and no one has the right to be judge jury and executioner.

-So Dennis knows something but he is not just going to give Harry the answers he seeks. He is afraid to talk or perhaps buying time for the Bard by keeping Harry's attention on him.

-Hopefully when Harry gets back to his home, it will still be in one piece and Draco and Ron haven't wrecked anything.

Harry needs to realize that in the real world, when powerful people have all the money and 'bloodline seats' on the Wizengamot, which does passing laws AND judging whether someone has violated them? Justice falls by the wayside very fast. That is why the Founders of America and the people in nearly every other democratic republic/constitutional republic have realized that separation of making laws, enforcing laws, and judging people guilty of violating laws is the way to go.

    Chapter 7:

-Wonder just how closely the Muggle born legion is connected to the bard or if he/she is just using them as a lightning rod to point Harry in the wrong direction. Seeing as how crappy things for Muggleborn before and especially during the war, if one of there members is the bard, even if they suspected something it is doubtful they would turn them in. As far as they could be concerned the Bard is just taking out the very people they view as the enemy to their continued existence.

    - Children...the Malfoys are actually children and Harry is the poor babysitter lol. Would be a trip if he had just said "nah" and took them too some muggle convenience store for there stuff.

-Harry is a nice dude, but damn he needs top buckle down when it comes too these two. Even when they are actively being stalked by a killer they still gotta have things there way lol.

-Looks like the Bard isn't the only theatrical one, what must Harry have been doing or thinking to come up with that costume.

    chapter 8:

-Yep, sad realization for the victims son that the world keeps on turning like nothing has changed.

-Wow, the Bard is one persistent fucker ain't he/she/it? But in a way it serves the Malfoy's right, I mean if they weren't completely safe in Harry's super warded house, just house safe do they think they would have been in a public establishment. Hopefully this will be the cold bucket of ice water over their heads. Although with the failed attack Harry has gleamed a new piece of info.

-Hmm don't know how to feel about Madam Royal, mere bystander or more involved than Harry knows?

-And it all circles right back to Dennis Creevey, if he is involved then he has got some explaining to do, if not then he just has some terrible luck, wrong place wrong time, wrong everything lol. perhaps the Bard is just using him as a scapegoat or for an alibi if necessary.

-lol loved the interaction between Harry and Hermione. Can't decide if Harry suspects her and called her in to see how she acted or if he solely needed her opinion and magical expertise on the situation.

-Jesus, turning someone into blood? The bard sure has a taste for the theatrics. At this point something as normal as say a slit throat would probably throw everyone off.

-"a magical, animated curse". Not gonna lie, I totally had a "grudge" movie flashback when she said that. Like any death eater or someone siding with voldy at the battle of Hogwarts could have left a bit of a magical signature and this could be a vengeful remnant of a victim of the battle attacking them through that. Or maybe it's some form of astral projection from someone left catatonic? Or perhaps it was created accidentally through the sheer will of someone who absolutely hated the death eaters. God damn so many different theories. I love stories that keep me guessing.

-Draco seems set in his suspicions in regards to Hermione. She is both a likely candidate due to her history with him and her intelligence and at the same time the least likely due to her morality.

-Smart of Harry to give Nariccisa and Draco something to do to make themselves feel for useful so he can work on getting them to part with some of the things they brought.

got this review in at the last second lol.

    1. Completely off the subject, do you ever reread your own stories?

    2. Are you playing with idea of a Spellcaster story?

    AND

    3. This story took an interesting turn...protection by Slytherin magic I think it is?

-Harry will need to tread lightly less he make an enemy of the Muggleborn legion and lose any chance of getting a lead on the bard. Granted them being shady isn't really helping them. Is Hermione affiliated at all with the muggleborn legion? And if not will we be seeing her views on them when she makes her appearance.

-That is a most disturbing image indeed harry potter. for shame.

-Poor Draco getting a little bathroom surprise lol. Man can't even get the privacy to handle his business. Interesting bit on how the Portraits could be being used by the Bard. Phineas and the rest of the portraits gossiping about Harry's personal life then being disappointment that it was something too his eyes as mundane as a protection detail lol.

-Totally slipped my mind that not even a whole day has passed since Lucius's death. And already they are under attack.

    - Can't help but feel Dennis is not the bard but a scapegoat or lightning rod to keep Harry's attention focused elsewhere. Totally think he IS connected in some way though. Curse you and your red herrings!!!!

-Nice touch with Harry being able to get a sense of people magic, that could also come in handy.......or provide more foreshadowing and red herrings lol. I alos like how while Harry mentions Hermione's name in the category of geniuses it seems more to do with acknowledgment of her talents than actuall placing her under suspicion. Doesn't even once cross his mind that she could actually be the bard, which 'if' she is then it is going to be all the more heartbreaking.

-Curious as to why the bard retreated before finishing the job and how he/she was going to kill Narcissa. Perhaps a copycat killer to draw attention away from the real deal? I mean if there are people who apparently think the bard is doing good, they might take it upon themselves to try and emulate him/her. Harry with his total lack of tact and freaking out Narcissa was funny in a morbid way.

-So now Hermione has jumped to the top of Draco's suspect list. Will be interesting if he brings it up to Harry. If he tries to act on his own it could easily make things worse for everyone involved.

-waits patiently for the next update-

I have noticed a few reviewers theorizing that the bard is perhaps Hermione. That would certainly be a twist. And it would just be tragic. The top muggleborn and pillar of morality and justice falling to such a level. She would would make an enemy Harry would hesitate against. And beyond the personal issues of having her as a foe, it would be fucking terrifying. The girl might not be the duelist Harry is or strategist that Ron is, but she is definitely in the middle and atop of all that is a walking encyclopedia of magical knowledge. It is easy to believe that she could pull something like this off if she was of the mind.

If people suspect her then anyone could be the bard.

But theories aside I love what you have done with this and can't thank you enough for deciding to write it.

-Loved the scene with Molly. She has all but adopted Harry as her own and can even put aside her justified issues with the Malfoy's to feed them. Cool of Harry to step in before Draco said something to kill Molly's gesture of good will. And I laughed at despite his mood, he still has to admit that the food is deliscious.

-Good that Narcissa is keeping her son on stable ground and helping him to think and not fly off at the handle.

-Draco's attitude can be expected since the grief is still very fresh. Lucius was by no measure a good man to the rest of the wizarding world and few would miss him. But for all of his many many MANY faults, he loved his family and they loved him back. Losing a loved one is hell for anyone, regardless of alignment.

-Mighty shady of Dennis showing up at the end like he did. Coincidence or 'if' he is the bard perhaps trying to direct Harry's attention elsewhere or knows that he is protecting the Malfoy's and is getting a feel for his wards.

    The plot thickens.

-waits patiently for the next chapter-
