Also, don't feel discouraged by less than stellar reviews. Your writing quality hasn't gone down. This was a short fic so there's less time to create complex environments and plot devices. It was very nice for what it was and a lot of people really enjoy short stories over novel length docs. I happen to enjoy the long ones the best.

    What's a prompt?

Harry did use an explosive. As a 12 years old kid, for a clumsy distraction.

As a 18 years old who survived the sacrifice of his life for everyone including those he liked the least, it's way out of character, not to mention he plainly did it out of malice instead of some great rushed and risky plan. Harry would have wanted to defend "his" instigated peace by taking the issue directly with Blaise and maybe argue hotly in the middle of the class.

As for the quality of your work, I don't know... Maybe I've been reading too many rich and complex novels lately. Maybe I'm comparing the quality of what I remembered reading from your hand a few years ago - which I held is very high regards - to what I am reading from books today. Maybe the quality didn't change and I just gained new perspective. I wouldn't know unless I go back to a story you wrote a few years ago like The Soldier's Welcome or Changing of the Guard.

Btw, about ch.3: will there be any mentions at all about certain life debts, or how Harry saved Draco's ass in the Room of Requirements, or Goyle's death, or their mutual summer activities when the war was officialy over and how it changed them or their future prospect? Draco seems to be a prick for no reason, a gleeful imp who sound like he just can't wait to be the first to chant that the Great Harry Potter is gone forever and it's his fault.

Personally I like this idea. I want Draco to get out of his ass and say the truth... 'cause I think he's hot for Harry as he's been all his life... but then it's your story so...

-Well at least it wasn't an unconditional 'no'. Ginny is willing to be a last resort if all else fails. Nothing selfish about what she is doing, she doesn't want him in a loveless bond any more than she wants to be in one. This way he can look for every alternative he can and if he comes up empty she will then be his mate and he will live. Honestly not the course of action. Would suck if she agreed right off the bat only for him to regret it when a more suitable option presents itself.

-Wow even when he supposedly gets what he wants, Draco still feels the need to be a petulant child about it. He should have just said yes if he is gonna get an attitude about Harry trying to stay alive. And It wouldn't exactly bode well for him if Harry did in fact die due to him not agreeing to be bound to him and Hermione or Ron'accidentally' let it slip to the public that he was the primary cause of the savior of the wizarding worlds demise. He would be a pariah.

    - "I wish I knew someone I could ask. Someone who already liked me enough to consider it, but not enough to be in love with me. Someone who wouldn

Wow, that is certainly interesting and original idea for a story. Loving it so far and waiting for Draco to hit his head because things surely are not right in there at the moment ;)

I for one think the story is very good. I have no problems believing the characters as you have shown them. Draco would want his freedom, and Ginny wouldn't want a loveless marriage any more than anyone else would. I do have to confess that I am now hoping for Luna to say something to Draco that will at least make him think a bit about it.

    about #2...

Well this IS different. For some reason, it brings to mind of my favorite myth, The Wild Hunt.
Hope things don't get too screwed up, with Harry asking Ginevra.

I miss how Lomoannaereen used to create complex, deep character. They were written as they were and they acted on their own. The story did not follow the author's whims. It was character driven. It's what I appreciated from the writing and what made it so different and refreshing from all the other fanfictions I found ; those others clearly follow the passionate desire of an author to have their favorite characters do their fancy. It violates their will and disrespect the true direction the story ahould have had. Story that feels fake, superficial.

Unfortunately, Horns of Elfland is much the same. Harry, as we know him by the end of book 7, would never drop an explosive in a Slytherins cauldron. Harry just saved everyone, made a sacrifice of his whole self to save even the most unredeemable, even Pansy who wanted to throw him to the Dark Lord. Hell even Ron, Hermione's hot tempered boyfriend, wouldn'd do that. It's a sort of mean thing Crabbe would do, and only because he's to dumb to understand it could kill his victim. So what up??

Ouch, I can understand where they are coming from but that is not fair to either Harry or Ginny. It's not about being a 'hero', it's about possibly tying yourself to someone who may never love you and in turn tethering that person to someone they can never love romantically. It might keep him alive but both would be living a half life they would come to regret.
