There is so much in this chapter! You managed to transition between naked Draco and solemn, respectful Draco beautifully. He and Hermione are complex people with a lot of history and your story manages to handle that depth and not let either of them devolve into a two-dimensional caricature of themselves. ...It was moving and so appropriate that George got to speak with Fred before he was prepared for burial. I was glad he urged Draco and Hermione to explore a future relationship.,,,Special thanks from me for the magical details you gave us when describing memento mori photographs and the creation of wizard portraits. You did a masterful job of creating believable magical methods for them. I think you got it just right and JK would be pleased..Fred's funeral was a powerful scene, beautifully described. One last thing: I liked "Six Feet Under" too.

I usually run in the opposite direction of sorrowful tales, but this one is too beautiful to miss (even if I have to work up the courage to continue).

I am really enjoying this story. I think the way you are handling the dead is beautiful. I like Draco and Hermoine in this story. I enjoy it when Draco is portrayed as a hero. He may not have made all the right choices but he did what needed to be done. I can't wait to see how this unfold. I think you have an amazing tallent. If I had my way we would be watching this on tv. It would make a kick ass show! :o)

    Best of luck to you!

The ghost assailing Hermione was truly scary! I'm enjoying the lemony history of Draco and Hermione. This is a unique and fascinating story. ...I was pleased you found some inspiration in my mention of wizard portraits. Eager to see what you invent for that process in the story.

After that piece with the lady ghost I find myself wondering why wizards haven't made undertaking a requirement in school. Will there be more of those moments later on?

So Hermione will be leaving England to bring back her parents, but what will she do after that? After all that had happened, most people find themselves no longer desiring the goals that they one day hoped to achieve. Will the Grangers behave the same way they did in your last story? I hope not.

If I were a betting woman, I would say Draco would never step foot in that manor ever again. I'm mostly waiting to see when he will get the nerve to speak to Hermione about the "entanglement" as Harry called it. Hermione too, on that matter. The living need closure just as much as the dead.

    Again, awesome job.

You have a remarkable imagination. Despite the presence of The Veil and ghosts in the wizard world, I never thought about what last rites and preparation might be involved in preparing the magical dead for burial. This topic is somewhat macabre, I suppose, because most of us prefer not to think of such things, but for me it's fascinating to explore. It makes sense that magical energy would need to be harnessed or appeased before a peaceful death is possible. I love it when fanfics explore new aspects of the world of magic. Are you going to address how a witch or wizard's essence is transferred into a painted portrait? That is something I have wondered about. The fact that this story also involves my favorite pairing, Draco and Hermione, makes it all the better. Eager for more!

It is interesting how wizards view the preparation of the departed. It is almost like how we "muggles" view it, but with wizards it's more of making sure ghosts do not linger. Makes me think of "The Crow" where Eric didn't pass on because he needed to right the wrongs done to him and Shelly when they were murdered. I know the situations are different, but it still made me think that.

As for Hermione and Draco... In the beginning, I thought it would start with mutual understanding then it would slowly or quickly lead to something more. Then we see the two share a rather intimate pass where it looks like Draco wants it to start again while Hermione does not seem to be anywhere near interested. Will the spirits be playing match-makers, or will Hermione and Draco be on their own?

    Keep up the amazing work.
