Reviews for 1912 Present meet Past *UNDER CONSTRUCTION*By : Luckycharms |
Oh, my. That last part brought me to tears. I love this story. It has easlier become one of my favorites. I can't wait to hear what happens with the Greengrass' family.
Still very good so far. Two things for editing, though:
It's Daily PROPHET, not PROFIT
and
being British, Hermione would refer to Oprah as a "chat show".
Well that was a good happy fun time, most of it anyway. Glad that Ron hasn't done something stupid as that could have been nasty and seems to be coming around. Love the interactions between Ginny and Ron especially and how far Draco has changed.
So outstanding problems would be the interview to get the press off their back, apologising to Astoria and her family, which hopefully shouldn't be too difficult and any problems Pansy might cause.
PS I think it would be a very good idea if Ginny visits her family ASAP. Otherwise their only going to hear Ron's side of events which could be bad.
Wow. Lots going on. Typical Ron though. How are they going to explain it to everyone else? It's not like the whole wizarding world can look at their memories.
Hi
One small typo when their talking at breakfast before Ron arrives. “Well believe it Malfoy! I have a feeling this isn’t going to be the first time this happens.” Ginny chimed in before taking bite of her toast.” - Suspect that first should be a last?
Good insight on some of the problems the relationship will face. I was wondering when Ron would turn up although didn't think he would be quite that rash. There might be a problem with some of the rest of the family as well given Fred's death in the Hogwarts battle. At the very least Ron and Ginny are going to have a strained relationship.
Pansy could be a problem but its good that Draco is planning to apologise to Astoria and realises he could have handled that better. Also it could be interesting muggle technology being more actively used in the wizard world, while if its being supported by the Malfoy's it would make criticism by the more reactionary elements less effective.
Shows there's still a fair number of loose ends to tidy up and after effects that will rattle on for a while.
Many thanks for another good chapter.
Well that was a humdinger of a chapter. It also seems to wrap everything up and explain a lot, including Luna's foreknowledge of their time travelling [along with hinting she's done a good bit herself] and what Aquila had to do after she said goodbye to the couple in New York. Sneaky trick with that twist but it worked very well.
I'm a bit puzzled that a previous generation can dictator to a later one in this way, even if in this case it fits in with what most of the 2001 people I want. Also that it seems to dictate that a Head of House must have that role by their 22nd birthday? Or did you mean that those rules apply only if someone becomes head of house before that age? If the former that means that the previous generation would have to cede power when their still in their prime, which especially since mages can live longer than ordinary people would be deeply unpopular.
Similarly the idea that if an head of house abuses their power and is striped of their position a new heir must be born to take over within a year. Could see the demand to select a new head but that seems both restrictive as it rules out say a younger sibling or other current family member and would leave an infant in charge of the family. Do you mean selected/elected whatever rather than born?
Loved the last exchange between Narcissa and Pansy. That was a classic. :D
I do think Draco could have let Astoria down a bit better. Saying he was happy to announce that Astoria had accepted his proposal did rather suggest he was going to continue with the engagement and marriage and set her up for a nasty shock. He did have a lot on his mind but I would hope he would apologise later. Otherwise I could see her and her family being upset about things.
You said there were a number more chapters to come so presumably they will deal with the shock waves that will pass through the wizarding world and quite possibly some unpleasant reactions. Looking forward to finding out how things go.
Anyway another great chapter. :)
AAAHHH! It brought tears to my eyes. I thought you would do something like this but I didn't think it would be like that! It was so beautiful!
Draco was entirely too happy there. I know how to spot a plotting Slytherin when I see one. ^_^
At first I wasn't sure about your story, but you have had me hooked since chapter 8. I've been trying to write my own Dramione fics but havent had much luck. I cant wait to see why Draco is so happy about everything.

No need to apologise. I didn't feel the harshness fitted into their characters but its your story and you raised a good point. Their both been through a very traumatic experience which can have a dramatic effect on their feelings and behaviour, at least in the short term. Also given their fearing what returning to their own time that could have been a factor as well.
So Draco is taking over as head of the family. I suspect his change to his speech will cause a few surprises and that for Hermione it will be big and pleasant one. Although possibly Draco is going to take his time in changing things he sounds far to emotional to wait for long.
He's already let the cat out of the bad by mentioning Aquila and obviously she had a further role to play. Which may or may not relate to how Luna knows so much but looking forward to seeing how things develop.
Glad to hear that there will be ~10 more chapters and like the idea of a sequel if your happy your found a suitable plot for it.
Interesting. That comment about a lot more of the story to come suggests either that its some time to get back to their own time or that once they get there things aren't wrapped up fairly quickly. Be curious to see how things work out.
To be honest the rough sex element doesn't gel with me as it seems out of character with the rest of the story. Although I suppose they could both find they share a kink. However if it involves choking then a safe-word is of uncertain use.
Like the insight about the inability to help any of the survivors. It really highlights the problems in a time travel story when you daren't do anything to alter the past.
Small typo noticed. “The cut on your forehead is superficial and will only need a small baggage. “ Presume that should be bandage. Easily done when your writing so much so fast.
Interesting comment by Aquila at the end. I suspect she's determined to do something to make sure Draco come into existence but not sure what. Or that the two stones are in place in the future aided by what she's found out about the couple.
Pity Draco couldn't save that woman but among such a disaster and with the conditions he was lucky to pull through himself.
Sounds like we're probably coming to the end of the story but going to be some interesting reactions when they get back to their own time. Since no one else is aware that any time has passed their 'sudden' relationship is going to raise a lot of eyebrows, not to mention the stink about Draco's arranged marriage. Unless some message to the future is part of what Aquila is going to so. Looking forward to see how you handle that. Thanks again for another good chapter. :)
OK if that's what JKR herself said I would go with it but admit it does seem odd.
Good chapter in terms of both tension over the future of them all, especially Draco stranding himself on the ship to get Hermione off and the pathos of the architect and captain in their despair. Pretty certain he'll get away and hope the young woman makes it as well.
One minor quibble. The Titanic is at 90 degrees when it's vertical. 180 would be upside down.
Can't wait for more! Ooh, I'm all a'tingle!
