I understand that this has been completed for some time, but I have just stumbled on it today, and spent the entire day, and dare I say night, reading it. There are brilliant character arcs for your protagonists and the storyline is extremely detailed and intricate and ambitious. You pulled it off beautifully. Angst, passion, erotica, heartache, fear, and joy abound throughout the pages. Thank you for the obvious hurculean effort to bring the story to fruition. Were it a book, I'd have plonked my 15.00 on the table and kept it for future re-readings. As it is, I've marked it as a favorite to return to, time and again for some lovely well turned phrases, and a beautiful exploration of Draco and Hermione as they come of age.

I just had to tell you that I enjoyed your story so much that I stayed up until 6:30 in the morning to finish it just because I had to know what was going to happen. Now that I have finished This Subdues FIre I am finaly going to go to be, but I have this feeling that as soon as I get up I will be reading the sequel. To me the sign of a really good book is one that you have difficulties in putting down and in complete and total honesty I can equate this piece of fiction that you have written right up there with some of my most favorite books by some of my most favorite authors and there have only been a few other fan fiction authors I have found like this, and i read quite a lot of fan fiction, so, my hat is off to you and in reward (if you care for one) I give you a brand-spaning new shiny golden halo. I wear one myself, although for different reasons, and mine is a bit crooked, wear yours in whatever way you wish.

Absolutly fan-fucking-tastic!!! Excuse my French but it's the only way to describe this story. I loved every single bit of it. Chapter 33, with the declaration of the realtionship was superb, the battle was intense and heart-felt (loved Hermione's dress for the dance by the way). Basically it was just great. One thing though, just nit-picking: Gryffindor have only won the house cup once so far, in PoA. However, as the rest of the story was by far one of the best I've ever read I shall not dwell on that. Anyway, as I was saying I loved it; it was well written and....well, excellent. Not much else I can say. Ooh, I was right about Dumbledore though (yay team me!) and I really enjoyed the idea of the lemon tree. I congratulate you greatly on your writing talents and thank you for writing this story. Slytherin Secret.

Well I've got about nine Chapters to go, I think, but yet again they will have to wait. Although if they are half as good as the ones I've read so far I'll be very happy indeed. This is one of the best fanfics I've read and I love it. I love the ancestor linking and the idea of the roses markings; it's all very original and interesting. I'll read more soon as I can't wait to find out Snape's link to Hemrione or to find out who dies (I'm betting on Snape or Dumbledore). I'll review again once I've finished reading, Slytherin Secret.

I love this story so much. I've managed up to Chp15 so far and thought I should review as there's still a way to go and it seemed like a good place to let you know what i think. To quote a certain, red headed Gryffindor: "It's bloody brilliant!"

It's well written and so emotive I can feel it all happening. Hermione's feelings towards her parents death are amazingly written, as is her and Draco's passion for each other. I love the idea of the wandless magic (Any story with that in is always popular with me).

I can't wait to read the rest of it and see what will happen between The Order and Voldie, Hermione and Ron (as he seems to have a large soft spot verging on love for her), and especially Draco and Hermione, who are so good together.

However, like so many of life's other great things that will have to wait as I need to sleep. lol.

I'll review once I've read more.

    Slytherin Secret.

    Hi BM!

Guess I'm tuning in kind of late to the fic, but I didn't know YOU wrote TSF until joining the DHR group. I had of course heard all about it before I was a D/Hr fangirl. Anyway I read it, loved it and just had to tell you. I did get a bit sniffly at some sparts too.

    Dear BeautifullyMalicious,

"This Subdued Fire" is one of the most excellent stories I've read in a long time. I love the epic-ness, the diligent research and the style of this story. I was as eloquent with words as you are, so I can decently write a review for you; alas I not, so I'll try my best. I think it's amazing that you put together this story. I liked the way that you sectioned this into three parts; each part evoking a different tone. I'll admit initially I thought this was going to be another plotless 'fic or a boring one, but you proved me wrong. The middle of the story, Hermione's despair, deeply moved me. I can only imagine waht kind of pain you had to draw upon to write something so dark, angsty, angry, morbid and morse. And I liked the transitional period that Hermione went through from physical recovery to her hellbent determination to bring down Voldemort to her peace of mind afterwards.

Again I was most impressed with the direction you took with Hermione's characterization. This darker version of her was enjoyable to read. I never did imagine her as a saucy "hellcat." But you wrote her well and with edge. And that I am thankful for, since I'm not a fan of mushy-ness.

Oh Draco, our resident badboy. No complaints from me. I loved with what you did to him. Or rather Hermione.

Of course you have the gift of writing. Not that I'm pedantic about grammar and syntax and the whatnot, but I found little wrong with your 39 chapter story. Thank you for taking the time to have beta-readers or to proofread your story. And thanks again for not being cliched with the "chocolate orbs" for eyes. And thank you for making me up look up words, I needed a good refresher of my SAT vocabulary words. (I meant that sincerely.)

Lastly, thank you for entertaining my holiday season. Cheers & I'm looking forward to your lastest projects.

ie ree read your entire story, beginning to end, and have not commented. for this, i am sorry. but i can make up for it. you see, i have to tell you that i strongly beleive you have exceptional talent. i was so stuck to your story. i have DSL, and i have it up running basically 24-7. now, i have chores, homework, and other things like anyone else, HOWEVER, theres a slight problem. i put your story in my favorites, and i read, and read, and read every chance i got. after school, until eleven on a school night, you name it. this story and your skills are absolutely amazing. i could not stop reading! and you had the emotions, the wording, the storyline, and -(yes, the smut) perfect. it was all perfect. no criticism here. actually, the sadness and downfall that hermoine hit made me sad. i cried, especially with the 'whole of gryffindor at the funeral' part. goodness, i know this story is done, but i hope you return and check your reviews, and know what an amazing job you did. girl, if HP was yours, you would be so well known even two year olds would know your name. especially with this story... the battle, the ending, everything, i cant get over it. very intriguing and interesting. *cheers*

    love,
    admiring reader

    Dear BeautifullyMalicious,

I don't know whether to wipe a happy tear from my eye or do a traditional fangirl scream of joy. I've been following this story for about 4 months now and have thoroughly enjoyed it ... it's in the top 3 favorite fanfictions of all time. Your smut scenes were awesome!! xD I'm going to read it again this weekend or next, and then I can leave a longer review but...I just thought you might want to know how much I loved your story! So here it is: GOD I LOVE THIS STORY!

    yours,
