    Re: Alowen
Thanks for the compliments! I'm glad you're enjoying the story thus far; I did major in English, so it definitely helps the writing, having had a collegiate grammar course. I love that you are absorbed in the story--that's exactly the reaction I want! It warms my heart.

Re: Trickie and Dreamweaver (I forgot who said what)
"Didn't take Snape very long to realise how he could twist things to his advantage." Of course, our favorite Slytherin! It's definitely a, erm, stroke to his ego to know that it is more than the curse that pulls at her. And Draco is by no means finished being a snot.

"I thought what he had for Grindleweld was brotherly love." That's where I thought she was going too, until she pointed out otherwise. I guess I'm lost too.

"Because the series was written solely from Harry's point of view," That, I think, is exactly what made it so hard for a lot of people to like Snape. Since even the narrative took the negative bent that Harry felt, it was hard for some to see any positive light to him. I got a kick out of his sarcasm, but by the time I got a sense of what his school years were like in the third book he was my favorite. Thanks to the movies though, and Jason Isaacs stellar portrayal of Lucius as such a complete ass, even fan fiction can't save him for me. :) He ruined it.

"I know how intense and delicious a human female's infatuation for a male feels..." Absolutely. Now you wouldn't have anyone in particular in mind for that would you. Tall, dark, and handsome perhaps?

"I had figured throughout the series that Draco would turn and I was disappointed when she didn't pursue that after she had given him every opportunity to show that he had the potential to be better than his Malfoy roots." You know, my honest expectation for Draco was to go the way Snape did. Get in just enough to realize he wanted out and then start working for the right side.

"I wondered about Narcissa until I read the 'Spinner's End' chapter in DH." Spinner's End definitely warmed me up to Narcissa, thanks to her concern for her son. Already knowing the full import of what awaited him as a Death Eater, I'm surprised she didn't take him and run, which is exactly why I had her go to Dumbledore in my first story. If I remember right though, he was of age by that point, so there really was nothing she could do.

"...Maybe he was sent back to Azkaban and maybe she got a divorce. If Gilderoy Lockhart didn't recover, maybe she hooked up with Kingsley. That would really be a case of ebony and ivory. wouldn't it?" Now that's a weird thought. Of course she could just hit da club, decide she wants to be a swinger, or worse yet, bring home a much younger Muggle boyfriend. Draco would die.

I've known enough gay men and have seen how intensely involved their infatuations are not to notice the intensity of Dumbledore and Grindelwald. It struck a familiar chord when I read it and when she made that announcement I realized what chord it struck. I know how intense and delicious a human female's infatuation for a male feels, and therefore I'm sure a gay man or woman must feel the same way for the object of their infatuation.

I had figured throughout the series that Draco would turn and I was disappointed when she didn't pursue that after she had given him every opportunity to show that he had the potential to be better than his Malfoy roots. I guess that's another reason Harry Potter fan fic for adults exists, the main reason being, of course, to show that Snape survives and lives a happy and productive life after the 2nd war.

In the books Lucius had no redeeming qualities, But I wondered about Narcissa until I read the 'Spinner's End' chapter in DH. Since then I've had a soft spot for her. She was weaker than both Andromeda and Bellatrix, but i think her nature was much closer to Andromeda's. She loved her son above all else, but I think that even had she known Draco was alive and safe, she would still have told 'He Who I Find Most Tedious and Tiresome' that Harry was dead because Harry was the only chance the wizarding world had of killing 'HW' for good. She didn't want to see her son follow the same path as his father, she wanted him safe and she wanted him to have a future of his own choosing. It was the most strength of character she had ever shown in her life and she knew that it was her only chnce to help Draco find that future.

It's just too bad the aurors didn't capture lucius and send him back to Azkaban so that she could have a future of her own. Rowling made no mention of Lucius or Narcissa in the epilogue and she has never mentioned them after the book came out, but that may be because no one has asked about them. Maybe he was sent back to Azkaban and maybe she got a divorce. If Gilderoy Lockhart didn't recover, maybe she hooked up with Kingsley. That would really be a case of ebony and ivory. wouldn't it?

I am pleasantly surprised! This story is well-written, complete with good grammar. I am very intrigued by it, and I can't wait to read more. It has been quite some time since I have found a story I became so absorbed in. Good job on you!

Didn't take Snape very long to realise how he could twist things to his advantage. Perhaps he has decided his part in this little venture is not so bad after all. Or is it because he realises that she is indeed attracted to him and that has given him some power? I don't mean power over her, I mean a positive reaction to his own self confidence. And poor Draco, undoubtedly acting like a spoilt brat. Still think he will be determined to try and have his revenge despite Snape telling him otherwise.

And if I may join in the conversation in your reviews area, I certainly had no idea that Dumbledore was gay, I thought what he had for Grindleweld was brotherly love. It made the fact that he had to stand against him and defeat him all the more bittersweet once you knew he was batting for the home team. My gay radar is non existant to the point if I see a good looking, well groomed man I assume he's gay which is very stereotypical of me, I know. And usually I think, damn, what a waste. Undoubtedly I'm wrong on that count too but there you go.

I like both your opinions of the Malfoys. Because the series was written solely from Harry's point of view, we never really got into the insights of any other character. I guess she'd be writing forever if she looked more deeply at every single character (sometimes I think that would not be such a bad thing - LOL) I agree that Narcissa seemed almost non existant and yet, because she loved her son so much, she practically sacrificed her own life to save Harry in order to save Draco - eeriely similar to what Lily had done all those years ago, you would have thought she would be more invoved in the series. I agree that Lucius did nothing to deserve redemption in the books but I am learning to adore him in fan fiction. I also agree, that as pompous as he was, that Draco was more like Narcissa. He did want his father to be proud of him though and I think he would have done anything for his family too if they had been threatened. I believe, in book 6, if the death eaters hadn't made an appearance when they did, that Dumbledore would have convinced Draco to come over to the Order's side. He was never a cold blooded killer, which I believe Lucius was (however much Lucius loved his family and the good name of 'Malfoy')but I think, if given the chance, Draco would eventually have prooved to have been quite the asset. (Then again, maybe I have read too much fan fiction). LOL

I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed that even he has more maternal instinct than bella does.

Well, I was hoping for some smut but you did leave me with the promise of plenty to come very shortly.

I think he made a wonderful apology, no wonder she readily accepted it. Heck, she probably would have considered the punishment he gave Draco an acceptable apology since it fully fit his crime and it maintained her dignity.

Once she made the announcement, I reread the references to he and Grindelwald. Only then did I get it, so I think my literary gaydar is really lacking. And this from someone who took a Gay/Lesbian Lit. course (good old Salisbury).

My reactions to the Malfoys are this: his mom, though an unmitigated snob was not evil. Lucius, however, was. I could very easily liken him to Hermann Goering up until the end. Putting his precious progeny in the line of fire deflated him somewhat, but I'm sure he was responsible for any number of atrocities beforehand. Draco, on the other hand, though a shit, I thought had more promise. He was not cold-blooded like his father, who I know could have killed Dumbledore easily. He was more like his mother and suffering from an extreme case of conditioning and the same prejudicial mania that his parents spouting--though not to the degree of really being able to carry out any kind of genocide. I just found it really hard to believe that in the extreme case he was put in, such as the battle at Hogwarts that he did nothing. He had such a desire for notoriety and was supposed to be an opportunist of the highest caliber that I would think he'd take a stand on whichever side appeared to be winning. Much like Pettigrew did when he defected from the Order. I do think though, with Lucius, that since he had already been imprisoned for the Ministry fiasco that he should have been put back there after Voldemort freed him. He had no reason to be granted a pardon since he didn't do anything to redeem himself. So, back in ya go as far as I'm concerned. Narcissa was just kind of...there. I don't know about her so much.

Rowling announced Dumbledore was gay at a book reading in NYC lot long after DH was released last year. I couldn't understand why some of my fan fic friends were so surprised, when I read Aberforth's description of how extremely close DD and Grindelwald were it was glaringly obvious.

It;s odd how I feel about the Malfoys. I enjoy a sympathetic and heroic portrayl of Lucius and Draco as well as an evil and fiendish one. I have always felt sorry for Narcissa, she never had a choice in anything. I'm sure it was an arranged pureblood marriage, and while Lucius was the dominant partner, 'He Who I Find Most Tedious and Tiresome' was in reality the boss in that marriage.

Rowling left their situation unresolved, she could have done a lot more with the Malfoys in DH, especially with Draco. After the last battle they hovered around the edges. I can understand Harry pleading for leinience for Narcissa, she saved his life in the forest; but why hadn't Lucius been picked up by the aurors and returned to Azkaban to await another trial?

"I only read and enjoy Snape smut with an adult female. Actually, I only read Snape stories and avoid all SS/HG and Snape Lily stories like they were the plague, I loathe those pairings." Amen, sista. The only thing I can get behind is a Snape/Lily thing, but I'm really particular about it. To me that's a little more bittersweet.

    Re: Dreamweaver
I am so glad you appreciated Snape's reservations and Draco's comeuppance. He's got more coming. Vivienne's still not done with the Malfoy/Black clan though. Good thing she's a stellar Auror.
"I love that JKR made Dumbeldore gay, it made such a delightful twist." Moi aussi, I missed any references she'd made, but I could at least see it.

I nearly fell off the chair laughing when she zapped Draco on the arse with her, how do you say, faulty wand. LMAO I could quite easily imagine Bella trying to live vicariously through her nephew and he would definitely be one to brag. Poor Vivienne, this is not over yet. And Snape's thoughts of whether Dumbledore might ever make a move on him - hilarious. I love that JKR made Dumbeldore gay, it made such a delightful twist.

I'm pleased to see that Draco is going to be a nasty little prick in this story. I wasn't looking forward to any Draco smut, I only read and enjoy Snape smut with an adult female. Actually, I only read Snape stories and avoid all SS/HG and Snape Lily stories like they were the plague, I loathe those pairings.

Judging by his reaction at the end of this chapter, I have some smut to look forward to in the next one.

"Some day soon when they get past the sex they will find that they have lots subjects they can talk about with each other, that it's not all just the curse and the sex. I'm waiting until he comes in contact with the Amortentia potion to find out what he smells."

That some day is soon and it would be VERY interesting to know what he smells...we'll see.

"It would appear that those of the wizarding world have far more stamina than in this one or perhaps I have not come across someone with such magical er properties,"

I blame the training in part as well. In considering what hers would be like, I would say it's akin to the Foreign Legion, which is legendary. But yes, they're both formidable. Vivienne is certainly no damsel in distress; he would have no patience with that.

It would appear that those of the wizarding world have far more stamina than in this one or perhaps I have not come across someone with such magical er properties, hmmm.... LOL But how dare he tease her again when she was so desperate to get out of there and prepare to take over from Tonks. Loved the move when she spun him on to his back. :) I don't know how she will react the Draco although I have a strong feeling he will be quite attracted to her. Looking forward to seeing where that goes. :)

Indeed I like strong women, the cliche of the helpless female who runs, falls and twists her ankle etc. really gets on my nerves although some women pull off the helpless female act with great aplomb and it sits naturally with them. I think I am somewhere inbetween however. LOL Glad to know you enjoyed your previous writing experiences too. I have not attempted poetry for a while. Too busy reading fan fics and dealing with real life these days. :)

That was a lovely bit of smut there. How marvelous that everything backfired for Bellatrix, Vivienne and Snape are so very sexually compatilble and seem well matched in many other ways. Some day soon when they get past the sex they will find that they have lots subjects they can talk about with each other, that it's not all just the curse and the sex. I'm waiting until he comes in contact with the Amortentia potion to find out what he smells. I'll lay odds that it's a sure thing.

I'm glad you like brassy chicks. I think they're the best ones for our dear Potions master. Vivienne's encounter with Draco is still coming eventually. No spoilers though, we know she has to come across him at some point, but what will happen... Fanfics are great so far. Most anything else I've written was in college, either creative writing classes, our campus newspapers, some poetry, things like that.

    Re: Trickie
I love that Bella lost out, simply because I could totally see her pulling something like that. She's a vengeful little tramp who seems a little more devoted to her master than her husband, but I agree. They both ick me out and Vivienne will be much better off without them.

And given the Amortentia, she's definitely got some splainin' to do. We'll just have to see how he feels and/or how he handles it.

"This was even hotter than the first one. I will have to make sure my husband takes his Viagra tonight so I can find my own release after reading that. " lol Now that is exactly the kind of reaction that warms my heart. At least I know it's effective. :)
