Reviews for Barbarism to Decadence.

    That was very, very enjoyable.

Vance is a enchanting character and his uptimistic aproach to life makes him either perfect for Severus or a mayor pain in his ass. To our benefit you started with the later and work it all the way to perfect and that was a lot of fun.

I do not get tired of Severus as a main character, in fact last night my husband was watching Hard to Kill and every time Hans Gruber spoke I look up from the laptop hoping to see my favorite potion master. Having him paired with a fresh new character is a treat because it is really hard come up with new things when we have the same characters. Off course this is fanfiction therefore anything is possible but sometimes it makes more sense to create a new character than to give a completely new personality to an existing one.

Maybe it was a mistake to remove Vance's memories of Snape, he's obviously aware that something is wrong. And then there's all that time travel paradox that we are gleefully ingnoring, ;-). Is Vance somehow aware of what happened but didn't happen? Is that part of his feeling that something is wrong or is that just the removed memories? I'm curious, if Bella did become pregnant would the baby be Snape's or Vance's or somehow a combination of all three of them? I'm sure I'm not the only one shuddering at the thought of Bella being a mother.

Hey, two more chapters to enjoy! :-) I love time travel stories despite their paradoxes, such as how can Vance's memories still exist in that little bottle if they didn't actually happen, or at least not all of them, or is it just the memories before they were pulled away to Voldemort, or maybe. . . hmm, I think I'll just chalk this up to the mysteries of magic and not think too hard on it. ;-) Go Hermione. She really is a nice girl.

Hermione takes the high road, well, she is a Gryffindor, I guess it's sort of what she does. I'm amazed that Voldemort was able to break through Hogwart's wards to bring Snape and Vance to him. Is this something new? Anyway, it looks like poor Vance is in the soup now. Will Snape be able to save him? I sure hope so.

Uh oh. Bad Severus. Poor Vance, he's going to feel so terribly guilty. I hope he doesn't run, confessing all, to Dumbledore with his resignation. It seems Hermione has seen something suspicious. Did she just come to Vance's office at just the right time to see Phineas/Sev leaving or has she been hanging around to see who comes to see Vance? I suspect Hermione will not be able to resist doing a bit of "research" into the matter and she's no doubt smart enough to put the pieces together before Vance or Severus figures things out. But, will she go about her investigations on her own or will she bring in Harry and Ron? Can't wait to see what happens next.

Two chapters this time! What a great thing to come home to after work. I guess it's only natural for wizards to feel superior to muggles when they can do all this fantastic stuff, but muggles can do fantastic things too if wizards would only pay attention. Here's hoping that Vance can show them that muggles are just as good if different. I think Vance realizes, subconsciously, that Phineas and Severus are the same person, but for some reason he's not ready to aknowlege it yet. So Severus rescued him when his family was killed by Death Eaters. I guess that explains why he is so attracted to Snape, but I wonder how Snape will feel when he leaers the truth. Will he think Vance is leading him on for revenge? I can see how Severus would think that way. Looking forward to the next chapter.

I'm really rather surprised you've had so few reviews for this story. The writitng is good, so far the plot is interesting, and your OC engaging, though that may be part of the problem, the OC that is. I've noticed that readers tend to shy away from OCs, hopefully they will find this story, as I did, and get hooked. :-) Anyway, so Snape picked a beautiful boy as his alter ego, well I can't say I blame him, if I could get a new body I'd probably want a beautiful one too. Still, I hope it doesn't cause him too many problems, though I think Vancelot will figure it out before too long. I feel almost sorry for Hermione, but she really shouldn't have taken advantage. I'm looking forward to how Vancelot explains Alice to the wizards. It was a favortie read when I was young, though I do tend to like Through the Looking Glass better.

I liked the explanation for the unusual name. :)

Soul's Face is unique and intriguing. I would like to see Snape's soul as well.

    Chapters "feel" a little short.

    Thanks for sharing.

I just started this story and wanted to say how much I've been enjoying it. I like Vance, though I have to wonder why he's so alone and what it is about Severus he finds himself so drawn to. I can't wait to find out just why Draco wants to join his class. I hope Hermione won't cause any trouble with what she's learned, actually, LOL, I hope she does. Think of all the wonderful angst and hurt/comfort we can enjoy then. Followed, of course, by happy resolution. Looking forward to your next chapter and to seeing Snape appear as a student.
