Why, oh why you ended it like that. It's begging for sequel with happy ending, or not. Could you think about it? First muggleborn in The House of Slytherin for example. Oh the shock... Sory I think too much. As you can see I liked your fic.

First, let me say that Lucius Malfoy is far and away my favorite HP character. In this story he initially is presented as a kidnapper and potential rapist and I held my breath, but kept reading. As the story unfolded, he became more sympathetic to a degree, then he managed to win over his 'victim' with sexual experiences she had never dreamed possible in her sad life. This is all to the good for the heroine.

I honored her distaste for Lucius being married and wished he would have explained his situation to her more clearly, but perhaps it wouldn't have changed her mind. They spent enough time together for a strong bond to form between them, more surprising for Lucius than for her, but the bond had its roots in carnality. I don't know if they spent much time talking as they were in his bedroom for the entire time they were together. So I wonder if they truly had more in common than heated sex. I think he felt so, being more used to sex. Was her attraction more for his looks and his expert lovemaking? To discover he had originally intended to murder her after coercive sex was chilling. I don't understand why he couldn't have obliviated her, just as he did finally. So that confused me, unless Lucius truly was something of a monster.

I, too, wished to see more of the story, but I understand that having given him such an aversion to Muggles it might have been difficult to backtrack his character into wanting to keep Kat. I do wonder why he was so adamant, in the postwar(?) wizarding world, that he couldn't keep a Muggle mistress, but I suppose his ingrained antipathy for the race as a whole limited his desire for her. Having him really want to keep her, but feeling he had to let her go as she couldn't fit into his magical world was curious as Muggle parents of magical children manage to accept the wizarding life - Kat certainly did after a short time. I guess they did not connect on any level other than sex to make Lucius want her in his life. Will Lucius go prowling for another 'victim' and will she wind up dead? Those are a couple of questions that occurred to me. My view of him is a bit cloudy.

What I also do wonder about is eleven years from now, when the letter comes from Hogwarts inviting her child to attend, what happens when Lucius finds out he has a child? The child is probably recorded in the wizard birth registry. I can't imagine that any child of Lucius' would be a Squib with his strong magical ability. And how does Kat deal with a small child starting to show magical symptoms in the Muggle world? (Actually, I wonder about that for Hermione too.) Your story has more possibilities there.

Lucius as a sexual partner was wholly droolworthy. His attention to her and her insecurities and innocence was warming although of course he got a great deal out of his patience. That is vintage Lucius. Kat also got a lot from the encounter - her self-esteem shot up and her confidence increasing was good to see. She will make a fine mother for what will be an exceptional child.

The writing was excellent. Your story telling was engrossing and drew me in even though I worried about Lucius being totally evil. I usually have a hard time with DastardlyVillain!Lucius. He's a complex character and he had more facets in your story than a mere sex god or irredeemable gargoyle. This is also one of the few stories where I haven't stumbled and been thrown out of a story by bad grammar, spelling, or punctuation. Yay for that. Thanks!

Obviously you can tell by my lengthy review that I was taken with your story and thought about it quite a lot.
