Reviews for The Dream

Yay! I'm glad you decided to continue this story. I love stories where Lucius redeems himself more than what JKR let us see. I dont' think he could ever have allowed Voldemort the free reign of his home and his subsequent emasuclation (by the loss of his wand) and not resented the interloper.

Good job on the chapters. I will look for more updates with impatience.

Tambra, thanks. Yeah, Jason Isaacs is pretty delish, and I've been having a BLAST watching his other stuff. Never knew that the cute geeky scientist in Armageddon was also Lucius Malfoy. I love finding out that I've had my eye on the same guy in different things...

    And mrequecky, glad you like!

Good job! So, you've been bitten by the Jason Isaacs bug too. Gotta love him. He's so nasty in a nice way. I'll be looking for the next chapter.

I hate to sound like Rowling--especially without her finances--but I'm going to stay mum on Lucius' status. Suffice to say it's the beginning of the end of the path he's been on. As to Snape, I haven't quite worked out where I want him to wind up...

I'm fond of Lucius, but Severus is my obsession. Will you have someone in this story for him too? I hope so.

In spite of all the comments from the portrait, I think Lucius is another of Dumbledore's spies and he's trying to blow a smoke screen during that conversation. A true Death Eater would never have a Patronus.

If Lucius has a patronus, he must be a spy in this story.

Deathly Hallows be damned; I fart in its general direction. As to where he takes her, that will come out in the next cht. so sit tight. I'm on a roll!

Chapter Two: I'm very excited at the prospect of this developing into a real story. A question: is this DH compliant? I mean, will everything turn out just like it does in the book? Also, where is Severus going to stash her? An interesting development, in any case. Can't wait for more!

Wow, thanks. Descriptive writing I do well. Characterization... is passable. Why did Lucius save her? That's the million dollar question and one he'll be exploring himself. I like it call it his Martin Blank moment. Since not everyone is a John Cusack fan, I'll say this: he has been bigoted so long that it helped to dehumanize any of his victims, but being a person unlike, let's say Bella, his conscience is still intact. And that conscience is finally pricking him to the point that he is just beginning a very long, harrowing path to redemption.

As for where he took her... that should be answered in the next chapter, as well as why there. The DEs, though knowing it was probably a futile effort, wanted the Dursleys in order to get at Harry. Much like attacking Hogwarts to flush him out there. And yes, his patronus is a mongoose, mainly because it's completely anathemic to his house leanings since mongooses can kill snakes. Shows a little of the binary opposition going on in his psyche. And since the lexicon doesn't list a patronus for him, I claim artistic license.

For my other stories, I usually have Snape as the protagonist... although in the one I'm currently trying to finish ("Iron Dragons") he does pop up with an OC of his own. And if you can't handle a truly bad Lucius, I'd say avoid "Web of Redemption," because he's about as bad as it gets there.

I do like a good Lucius tale. My goodness, I could smell the burning houses and feel the bite of the wind on Leda's bare arms. This is the side of the Death Eaters that I try not to think about too much even though I know they were this bad and worse. You wrote the scene so vividly I wanted to duck and hide myself before they saw me (likely I would have been a reject, though, LOL, being old enough to have a grown son). I was very intrigued by Lucius' uncharacteristic(?) behavior in saving the sick young woman. I assume he sent her to hmmm, was it his own gates or was it Hogwarts? I'll assume it was his own home because Hogwarts would probably have been too far to apparate.

So many questions. What did Voldie's gang want with the Dursleys? I'll hide my eyes at what probably happened to those young women. Why did Lucius single Leda out and take a risk of getting into trouble himself? If he sent her to his home, wasn't Voldemort headquartered there? Was the mongoose Lucius' patronus? Was it ever established that he had one? Fanfic loves to give Lucius a white peacock patronus, but I don't know if that is fact or not. This Lucius appears to be somewhat merciful and not a heartless, degenerate villain. Big sigh of relief.

It feels like there could be more to this story. My muse disappeared for awhile on the story I'm now posting and I got stranded. It took a while to get back on track, but of course that story is finished now. I can't tell if any of your other stories have Lucius as the protagonist. With the amorphous section the OC stories are now stuck in, it's impossible to tell who the pairing consists of if it's not written in the summary.

Wonderful writing with great descriptive detail. Wow.

Thanks, Bea. I will be coming back to this one because I am loving Luscious too... and Jason Isaacs for that matter. In fact, I have to get my hormones out of La Bibliographe's stuff so I can finish these Snape/OCs of mine. Then onto this one, so stay tuned. I do give updates if you want to leave me your email on LJ. I'll hit you up.

Oh do continue writing this. Severus may be my one and only love, but Lucius is a very close second. I love stories where Lucius has an inordinate amount of power over his partner, and in this case, he certainly does. I love how Lucius has a 'compunction' to save her, an impulse, a whim to spare her because of an unwanted measure of guilt. I'm quite excited for what's to come.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I have a couple others to finish yet, but the Muse is pushing me to make more of this as well, so never fear, there will be more. Eventually.
