Update soon please!!! I have to admit though, when I first found this I thought it was going to be one of those yummy little tentacle fics where the plant gets its 'food' from bringing the one raising it off. I had originally thought that it would wind up with Nev walking in on our pretty little Harry and going from there lol.

This story has really been sticking with me, more so than some of my own stories, so... I've started a file for it to collect some of the dabbles it keeps trying to generate. AFF cut me off! The buggers! Review continues:

It sounds like Harry's all for being knocked up, but something tells me Neville wouldn't mind playing catcher to Harry's pitcher sometimes, too... How would two seedlings of a succubus snare interact? Are they overly territorial, or would it be a case of double your pleasure, double your joy? It brings a whole new element if they were both to be implanted. Maybe not at the same time, though.

Definitely see the both of them getting highly attached to their "tails". ^_^ The idea of it alone is pretty hot... the images steaming...

Germination might prove to be a bit of a hassle, what with both boys being the end-of-the-line for two ancient and noble houses (three if you tie in Harry's being the Black heir via Sirius's nomination and his father's mother being a Black closer to the main line than Andromeada or Narcissa, which would place Harry as the heir regardless before Teddy or Draco). Not that I'm worried about either one being a father--they'd probably make great fathers and be very enthusiastic about it, but I have a feeling Augustus would definintely have an opinion on what the boys do...

There'd be some hype over legitimacy, especially if one of the boys gets knocked up while still in school. Which means contracts would have to be brought up. Depending on how much Neville knows and understands about his estate and how much Harry doesn't, means Gringotts or law wizards will have to be brought in, whether the boys decide to get married/bond/exchange bands or simply draw a contract for bearing each other an heir... If it comes to a case where they agree to simply use each other to get an heir, then the family magics come into play--what if one child has more affinity for one family's magic than another?--along with custody rights and agreements. If you allow this to play out as a romance/drame/smutfest (one can always hope for a good smutfest, especially when tenticles have been promised!), these issues unfortunetely don't just go away.... Then it becomes the issue of 'is one person giving up thier family rights, and if so, who has the higher claim? If not are they going to merge their families? Will they take the other's name, retain their own?' From a narrative point of view, you get to look at the consequences of the boys either getting knocked up before they even begin to go over any of this, or if they tackle the legalities first and then try for a baby (or twelve--gotta repopulate those families!). There's the issue of where they will live--how extensive are the family portfolios? Keeping in mind, the Potter's portfolio has been unmanaged for over fifteen years, unless an account manager had been assign, and if one was assigned, was s/he/it honest and true to the Potters? Did the portfolio grow and flourish or was it squandered away? The Black portfolio is equally questionable, with at least a good five to seven years of being unmanaged because of Sirius's grandfather's death--did he appoint someone to maintain the family holdings or did he leave it to fallow and die for whatever reason? Can't think that he knew about Harry--he would have tried to gain custody of the boy if he knew Harry would be the next Black Heir and thus a future Lord Black. Augustus would have maintained control of the Longbottom portfolio, but did she chose to manage it herself or hand it over to someone else to manage in the aftermath of losing her son and daughter-in-law and being thrust back into mothering a toddler again so abrupt and harshly? Did she make smart decisions for the upcoming turn-of-the-century, or did she make seemingly safe decisions that ended up being costly decisions...?

Then there's the whole issue of being pregnant at school. Are there laws or customs about it? Have 5th-6th-7th year girls "transferred" out of Hogwarts before because they came up in the family way? With the wizarding world's almost Victorian sense of morals, I wouldn't be suprised if something was put in the pumpkin juice regularly to help detract unwanted occurances from happening. But would the interfer with a succubus snare conceived pregnancy? Are there marital suites in Hogwarts? After all, throughout the earlier half of its existence, it was quite common for women to be married off at an extremely young age. And young married women should not be forced to endure the company of chaste women, certainly...and all that rot. Still, I would feel horrible for a severely knocked up Harry having to climb all the stairs up to the Gryffindor Tower just to sleep in the same room as Seamus, Dean, and Ron... Not that those three would be comfortable sleeping in the same room with Neville and Harry if those two were shacking up as much as I suspect they would be....especially if the succubus snare encourages them more than needed. ^__^;;

The issue of male pregnancy begs whether gestation will last a normal forty weeks like for woman, or, if because of the nature of the male body--being less suitable for bearing young--the gestation period will be shorter? Say, 32-36 weeks? Will the succubus snare create a birth canal or will the baby be delivered via cesearan (please say c-section! Less painful for all involved, I would think, what with potions available and all...). And if either Harry or Neville come up pregnant at school, how will they deal with their class--Newts at the end of the year! Wouldn't it just be fab if Harry delivers a beautifuly, squawling baby a couple of weeks before NEWTS, and Neville is still currently up-in-the-duff? Ha! Worse for Nev if it's found he's carrying twins--what can you say, Potter sperm must be potent! Of course, if not delivered before NEWTS, there's always the possibly of being horribly pregnent *during* NEWTS... This being if the narrative chooses to having them conceive fairly early--whether Harry and Neville think to right away or not. ^_^

Post-Hogwarts leads to other questions: Where will the boys live after Hogwarts? A family estate? A new home? What are their dreams and aspirations for when their traditional schooling is complete? Will they go on to a mastery program? Will they settle in to learning how to be a Head of the Family? Will the struggle just learning how to be a parent? And what about Teddy? How much responsibility is Harry willing to take on with regards to his godson? How much responsibility is Teddy's grandmother going to allow him to take on? And will Andromeada try to "adopt" or tutor Harry in his new roles and responsibilities as Head of House? After all, she was a pureblood princess of the Black family before she up and ran off to marry a muggleborn! She must surely know a lot, especially if she was still on friendly terms with her great-aunt, Harry's grandmother.... She could certainly teach him a lot, if he asked....

How big of a family do Harry and Neville think they want? Not necessarily how big of a family will they end up having! When you figure it makes most sense to have a least three children--one for each of the major Family lines.... Granting that each boy carries his own heir, that would be a minimum of two for Harry and one for Neville. Of course, if you were to throw in the fact that the wizarding world has probably been decimated thanks to Voldie and the DEs, have the boys go in to Gringotts to do their inheritance rituals.... Probably get a few more family lines that defaulted back to either one of them and probably a good many wills deeded to Harry in face of him being either tBWL or Chosen One or some other such bit....

And then, there's the aftermath of the war.... Will you allow it to just sit and putter along as JK seemed to have done, or will you try and tackle some of the socio-political issues? Which drags in the issue of secondary characters. Are you really going to continue with the pairing of Hermione and Ron, or is it just temporary everyone-including-ourselves-expects-this-to-happen-even-though-we-barely-make-good-enough-friends-let-alone-lovers?

I'd love to talk and hash out some of these details with you. There are just simply so many possible roads you can take this story--silly little romance, smexy Porn-With-Plot ^_~v, a chance to play all-mighty Kami and completely recreate the wizarding world as we know it! yes, yes! I'd definitely love to hear what your thoughts and plans for this are/were.... Nine months. [huffs] It's almost cruel of you to post this little nugget and then abandon it for nine months.

A bit disappointed to not see more of this story written. Can honestly say, I don't think I've come across another story with this exact plot line--which is terribly exciting. Plus, there's just a terrible dirth of Neville & Harry fanfiction, in any which way, let alone *good* Nev/Harry stories. Just sad. So I'm really hope that whatever's prevented you from sitting down and putting this story plot into narrative and posting will back off. ^__^v

There are a couple of things I can easily see happening here.

First would be the tentative and yet quickly smacked together relationship between Nev and Harry. You have recipricated interest from both sides already admitted to, a good wealth of background history to build a new relationship on, but there's still a lot about each other that they don't really know. Especially since this looks to be an eighth year fic. There's that whole 7th year happenings and independent maturing that will need to be address. Their intimacy will need to be built beyond the friends and comrades of war--not just the sexy bits and bolts. Humans come by the sexy bits naturally, it's the intimacy that screws us over when the lust dies down.

I so see the two of them wanting to consemate their relationship before introducing the seed. Getting sexy together the first couple of times... especially if it's YOURs and/or your partner's first couple of times... It's messy, and embarassing, and awkward, and...well, practice makes perfect, right? So maybe they should practice a couple of times before introducing a new element like the seed and then tentacle.

There might also be a little squirmish over who gets to be the carrier. Neville's character really grew up, grew strong and determined while not losing any of his steadiness or quiet dependability--really, he would have made a lovely Hufflepuff if it weren't for some of his brash moments of couragousness. ^__^
