Very good story. I really understand and like the emotional bond and the behaviour Laine and Hale are having. It's interesting to read it and I hope you update soon!

Well I must say that I am very excited that you updated again! I was afraid this story might be abandoned, so this chapter was a lovely surprise!
I must say that this chapter left me feeling Hale's pain/angst. I am really hoping that there will be some warm/fluffy cuddling or something in the next chapter for him and Laine. (or even some sexiness and then some fluffiness, hey I can dream right?) I understand Laine's need for control and complete trust, but hasn't Hale proved that now, I can just feel his anxiety over Laine's threat about their relationship and it is practically making me cringe. He needs a hug, and so does Laine really.
The part with Remus was both interesting and wonderful. I was really worried after last chapter about Remus, I just love his character and I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to him, hasn't he been through enough in life yet? Also think that this should be neat for him and Laine to have animagus forms. The opportunity for them to spend some time together as Remus teaches Laine about it could provide time for Laine to see that Remus is probably one of his biggest allies. Right now you have shown that Laine sees him as a threat because of his interest in Hale, but I would think that if he took the time to realize it, he would see that Remus is one of the few people that cares more about Hale's well being than the rest of the wizarding worlds and thus Remus would make a good ally.
Can I just say I really, really don't like Gloria?! Erg, I have tried to like her, and her kindness towards Hale helps, but she is just so combative and nasty. Poor Armand being stuck with a mother like that.
I am also very suspicious of Linc, where is he? and what is he up to?!
Severus is also really pissing me off. Not sure what you should do with him. I almost think he should try to separate them and see how well that goes over. Severus may be powerful, but I don't think he could contend with a seriously pissed off Laine so I don't think it would go the way he thinks it would. But then Laine would no doubt never trust Severus and would leave with Hale. However someone needs to put him in his place. He may have biologically contributed to Laine's existence but he has never been apart of his life and he can't just show up now and expect that they can play house. Also he doesn't seem to realize that he would just be hurting Hale by separating them.
ok, sorry for that really long review, in short: please update again soon! and can we have some warm/fuzzy cuddly moments with our boys? pretty please

No! No werewolf for Laine. He's had waaay too much in his life to deal with and still does. Since you're he author you can be kind.
Remus is a wonderful wereolf. He must have SOME control & can save Laine from himself & Laine's own self. Came across this story today when you updated. It is sooo different and well written!!! Every character is so well done. Armand is OC isn't he? But Gloria is talked about?
Please keep going & update soon. I'm afraid Dumbledore's brother is going to bring harm to them. I don't trust Dumbledore & can't stand him.

Oh, I was so happy to see this update!!!!

The information on the dire wolves was really cool. I loved how you worked that into the story. I am so very glad you decided not to make Laine a werewolf. I'm concerned, though, that Severus will never understand what drives Laine's and Hale's relationships. It seems he just becomes more determined to separate them the more he learns. I'm anxious to see how that enfolds. I LOVE this story! I was just thinking about it the other day; wondering when we could expect another update, and here it is! Thank you so much!

That fight scene was intense! Seriously one of the best I've ever read for play by play action. I don't think I took a breathe through the whole thing! And I'm guessing/hoping there is some significance to the unicorn stabbing the boys with his horn? I can't wait to find out about that!

I had to keep reminding myself that Laine obviously finds Hale eventually while Severus relived those memories. How he will come out sane after having to go through that, I can't even imagine. The boys barely made it; as a parent, I can imagine its so much worse to have to witness those things happening to your own child. I hope he heeds Armand's advice and holds his judgement until the end. Laine will not allow Hale to be taken from him.

I forgot to mention before, I like what seems to be growing between Severus and Armand. I thought they'd be a good match from the beginning. Unless that kiss was just to snap Severus out of it...although Armand seemed to enjoy it.

Poor Remus! I hope Tonks finds him. I'm curious what Hale was trying to do, and what the results may just be...it seems like he was trying to heal the lycantropy, but because Remus was in wolf form, he was making him more wolf instead of human. Very interesting twist there; just how powerful is Hale's healing ability without a wand to limit it?

I know there was something else I wanted to commment on from a previous chapter that I had forgotten about, but I seem to have forgotten again! Maybe I'll remember for the next update....

Grrrr! Severus really just doesn't seem to get the fact that his opinion of the matter is completely irrelevant. Laine clearly hasn't gotten his point across sufficiently, maybe Hale needs to step in and throw a fit about Severus' lack of understanding/trying to separate them! Thank goodness Armand has some sense!
I hope Remus isn't too hurt, I really love him!
Did the unicorn heal the werewolf bite then? So Laine isn't infected? That seemed to be what it did for Harry, so ...
Who rescued Laine from the water by the way? And please tell me we get to know their thoughts on dragging a naked half-dead kid out of the ocean! That should be interesting!
Thanks for the quick update and I hope to see a new chapter soon again!

I adore your story so much!
First, as to your question about werewolf-Laine,at first I was thinking I could go either way on it, but the more I think about it, the less I like the idea.(sorry!) I just think that it is a lot to add on to what is already going on. There are a lot of issues being dealt with and this might be one too many, Severus finding out that Harry isn't his (heck, popping up in their life!), Linc and Albus, the war, Laine's mistrust of Remus, their bond and how people keep trying to interfere (I am glaring at you here, Snape!), learning magic, etc. Additionally, that would destroy any chance of Laine ever coming to trust Remus, and Remus and Snape's relationship/truce. Then there is the fact that being a werewolf would leave periods of time where Laine is not able to look out for Harry, besides the full moon, Remus is always tired/ill for a couple of days before and a couple after, and a weakened Laine is an unprotected Harry.
I just realized I continually refer to him as Harry and not Hale when I am writing, sorry about that. I actually love the name change, and normally I don't like that sort of thing, but honestly would he have even known that his name was Harry? He was never called that after he was left with the Dursley's, so logically he wouldn't know that name. Though in that case that is a heck of a coincidence that Hale was the name he got. Out of curiosity do we get to know how he got that name?
Do we ever get to know what Armand is? or why he is so ... odd? Don't get me wrong, I like him, but at several points Laine's thoughts about him were that something was strange about him.
With regards to Linc, did Laine not find it suspicious that right after he threatened the old man, he disappeared? I find that kinda fishy. Also with regards to his brother, Albus, is this a bad-Dumbledore story, or are you neutral about him? At the beginning it kinda seemed like he was very upset that Harry had disappeared, and not just because he was needed to fulfill the prophecy but also because he actually somewhat cared.
I had a thought too about the prophecy, it only states that Harry is the one with the power to defeat the dark lord. Considering Laine has used Harry's magic several times already, is it reasonable to assume that Laine could use Harry's power to defeat the Dark Lord? The prophecy only states that he has the power, not that he has to be the one wielding it.
I absolutely love Laine and his personality. He is confident and guarded because he has had to be. I don't think he is cocky, at least not in a bad way.
Sorry this review has been so long! I just wanted to tell you that you have an awesome story and I really hope you continue writing it (as quickly as possible pretty please?)

I'm voting against werewolf Laine *unless* his becoming a werewolf would cause him to realize that his ego could use a check. Although I don't care for Harry's name change, I'm enjoying the story and excited to see where it goes next. Thanks for sharing!

NO!!!! God, not like that! It would have to have devastating consequences to Remus' and Severus' relationship/truce. Not to mention that the poor kid's been through enough. And then there's the bond with Hale, how would it affect that? I think it would cause just too much strife and complications in their lives for that to happen, especially when it would be Remus who turned him. Remus would be devastated, Severus beyond furious...just, way too much on a tentative relationship, at least and keep them together believably. I don't see the dynamic of the group recovering from that.

    On to the chapter:

The interaction between the two boys is so heart wrenching. They are both so messed up. That whipping with the belt; it was so damn disturbing to read, but I could definitely see how they both needed it. It's so sad, what they've been forced to endure. Yet another reason not to add lycanthropy to the mix. They still have Voldemort and the horror the Wizarding World has become to deal with.

great chapter! I'd say yes to werewolf Laine! It will only add strength to his already powerful body. He needs all he can have if he's going to protect Harry. Well update soon!
