I needed this; thank you.
Tonight is the solstice; today will be spent searching for something meaningful that I can do asolitolitary witch to celebrate, something that can be done on the porch of an apartment with nosy neighbors and a husband who does not believe as I do.
I wish I could attend a celebration like the one you described, with a bonfire big as a house and countless friends arrayed around it, openly celebrating in light and laughter, welcoming the return of the sun with good cheer and giddy anticipation. I feel as though I have before, although I know perfectly well I have not- I feel as though I\'m missing some grand tradition that I should rightly be a part of and simply cannot find my way toward.
Reading this made my heart ache, but it was a good ache: it was a reminder that I really am not alone in this.
