I read this some time ago. Today I was just reading the reviews. I was shocked to find that I had not left one. I must have not wanted to break the mood of the story. This is a beautiful work, taking two characters we know and a background we know (or can anticipate) and presents them in this one fragile moment of time. Snape is so very in character, and so vunerable at the same time; Hermione so child-wise, so generous and courageous. This is my favorite fanfic.
