I lived in New Orleans for. . .4 and a half years, and your descriptions were quite good. ^_^
I could never afford anything in Body Hangings, as I was a poor college kid. Never went to Second Skin-- I always somehow ended up in Gargoyles and Limbo. Once went to Oz with my best friend (he was more their sort of clientele, but I was a buddy) and all I remember is: \"Ewww, sticky!\"
As for, er, magickal influence in New Orleans. . . I don\'t know if Esoterica is still around, but I\'m pretty sure that both Mystic Curio and Gryphon\'s Nest are. The Tarot reader\'s in Jackson square will prolly be able to point the way. Scratch the tourist veneer, and you\'ll find a few interesting things. . . and a lot of corruption.
