I loved this. I felt just the same after HBP, and recently wrote my first deathfic, not exactly in response, but I think HBP influenced me. Severus is the embodiment of sacrifice, what he has to go through is almost too much for anyone to stand.
I feel desperately sorry for him. I hope Harry can help, somehow.
