My only complaint is that I would have liked to know more of what was going through the character's minds. Otherwise nicely done. Meets all the requirements. Good job.
Technical thing: Towards the end there's a typo. You've got 'though' where you seem to mean 'thought'.
I get those myself. No how many times I proofread a fic and get it betaed, there always seems to be typos. Sigh. :-)
