Excellent beginning- nice premise, I like it! The only thing that sort of felt 'wrong' if you will, was this: "remembering those deadly words: if I find Snape along the way, too bad for him." "Too bad for him" is not really a very deadly-sounding or very threatening thing to say. A little more characterization between Hermione and Severus would be a good thing, too. I'm anxious to find out how he was blinded and for how long she can keep him a secret. Looking forward to more! LK
