Yeah, he should have just told Lily and made sure to emphasize the drugging. If he really wanted to, he could make a case for rape (which wouldn't really be a lie), but I guess he probably feels to guilty to do so with what happened with Harry to do that. Oh well, I can see that things will not be turning in a positive direction. I just hope that things don't spin too out of control.
