I don't think Hermione's explanation of why she helps her friends here makes sense. I don't think she does it to be kind because they can't do the work. I think she thinks of it as tutoring them, helping them learn more. The speech you wrote for her makes her sound like a Hufflepuff...but I like the story overall. Thanks for writing.
