First of all, I think this is a really wonderful story and it would be a shame if you wouldn't continue it. On the other hand, I know how difficult it is to have a writer's block. I have no idea's for the story, as I am, too, having a writers block for my own stories. I do hope you find inspiration and continue this story, because I would love to see what you come up with next.
