Hmmmm... I had a good bit of sympathy going for Snape up until this chapter. It's not his resentment of Harry that irritated me. That's understandable. So is enjoyment at seeing Harry completely gobsmacked and, to a certain extent, his willingness to use the situation to his own benefit. The bit that got to me was his monologuing and prompting Harry's questions. It was Snape's completely self-centered assumption that the recently-widowed father of a dying infant would have nothing better to occupy his mind than the fate of a teacher he'd never particularly liked. It was an interesting bit of characterization if that was what you intended us to feel.

Great chapter! I thought it was very interesting how you use the ending of HP in your story. I know alot of author dislike the ending, and decide to complete change it. I can't wait to see the next chapter!
On another note: I know you are looking for a beta but i'm not sure if your looking for a beta for this story? I'm not much of a beta myself, but I was hoping that maybe I can help you look for a beta if you need one for this story. I really like this story and it'll be quite sad to see go deleted. I really don't think alot of ppl look at the forums in aff.net. Perhaps you could post your story in ff.net since ALOT of ppl read Hp fics there too and I think ff.net also have a beta section >.< I'm sure you'll find one there!
