Nice! I haven't read "The Black Letters" so I don't know where this prequel is going, but I'm going to read it right now. As an aside, I didn't have any idea that English isn't your first language. Maybe you just had a good beta, but I hardly noticed any errors, and the only ones I did notice were minor ones that might have been just typos. Certainly much better than a lot of native speakers...although that isn't saying much, admittedly!
