This is getting more and more interesting. What a change it makes when V reigns in his impulses rather than just lashing out or charging in.
As for what v is... no clue, except that he's not vampire. Do Dark Elves, Naga and so on exist in this continuum?

*gasps as she surfaces from the smut fest and looks around blinking. Man but you write brilliant smut. having had a brief foretaste I now feel down right teased. I know there's more and even better to come so I'm now pulling a mental Sonic the Hedgehog, arms crossed, gaze irked and feet tapping in impatience. :P I want mooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr!
ehem. Even though the smut was great, i look forward to seeing how we got to this point, cause you can really feel the love V has for his mate. I think the back story is going to be most interesting. How will Horcrux's and Hallows play into things... and prophesies.

I like this story, admittingly though I was a little confused...but I can't wait for the next chapter.
