Oh bullplop. Ron was driven round the twist by a sentient magical object. He was not 'beyond redemption' in the damned slightest, you just want a final chance to bash upon Ron Weasley because that is the whole basis of this story.

Who cares about this story anymore? No one I think in all honesty, because it lost the plot quite awhile ago.
It reads less as a story and more as a Storyboard for a TV show, which I don't think you were going for that.
