A/N: Weee! My
first Snape fic! This is just a little
idea that jumped into my head the other night while I was thinking of the
goodness that is Snape. I know the
summary sucked but the story doesn't.
Really! I swear! It doesn't suck! Please read and review or I'll have to sic Martha Stewart on you.
^_^ Oh and I don't own Harry Potter or
its characters. JK Rowling does so get
off my back already. But I do own
Jordan Harris. And for now the story is
rated PG-13 but the rating will go up.
Now on with the story...

Chapter One - Standing Up
As a rule, Severus Snape didn't like nor respect many
people. He had no time or desire to be
social. He was doing what he wanted,
teaching at Hogwarts, and that's all he needed. But yet, she had intrigued him.
Her name was Jordan Harris and she was the Order's newest
member. Snape hated it when they pulled
people off the street to help but she was different. After their first meeting, he went back to
Hogwarts and looked up her academic record and was fully impressed. She was smarter than that brat Granger would
ever be but yet the Order had brought it upon themselves to use her as an errand
girl.
Once a month she'd show up in his classroom to pick up
Remus Lupin's monthly supply of Wolfsbane.
She rarely spoke and when she did, her voice was soft and polite. And Snape hated it when he went to the
headquarters and she'd be cleaning, like a slave and he often wondered where
their real priorities laid. He had even
suggested to Albus Dumbledore that should use her full potential but the wizard
simply dismissed him and how he hated that.
"Mr. Snape?"
He heard her voice echo through the Potions classroom as a
smile crept across his face. Snape
raised his head and looked over at her.
She was wearing a dark cloak and a knit cap that covered up her soft
brown hair. He noticed the large
snowflakes and resolved that they were finally getting the first snowfall of
the season.
"You're late Miss Harris," sneered Snape as he
stood from his desk, "I detest lateness."
She watched him as he walked over and towered over her, by
at least a foot, but she didn't flinch.
Instead she brushed the snowflakes off her cloak before looking up at
him. He turned his back to her and
walked to his desk to retrieve the Wolfsbane Potion.
"It's snowing.
Snow makes people late. If you
detest it so much than maybe you should brew up a weather machine so it's sunny
and perfect all the time," she muttered.
Snape stopped in front of his desk, his long fingers
sliding across the bottles of potions.
His lips curled up into a smile.
He had never heard her talk back to anyone before and it intrigued him.
"You don't brew weather machines," he
said as he turned and held out the small crate of potion, "This should
keep Lupin from maiming and eating the entire Order."

Jordan looked at Snape and then slowly reached out for the
crate, letting her soft hands scrape over his long fingers. He perked an eyebrow at her as she continued
to stare at him, her hands sliding against his until she felt the wood of the
crate. She slowly pulled it from his
grasp and smirked at him.
She was playing with him and Snape knew it. He watched as she took a step back as she
balanced the crate with one arm.
"I suppose I'll see you tonight," she said as she pulled the
hood of her cloak up, "I'll be the one scrubbing the floors."
"Maybe when you're done with the Order's floors, you
can come and scrub my chambers," he snorted.
"It'd cost you more than you have Mr. Snape,"
she said as she turned to leave, "Maybe you can get one of your Slytherin
bitches to do it for you."
Jordan glanced at him one last time before making her
retreat out the classroom door, leaving a smiling Snape behind.
~*~
The snow was coming down in buckets by the time she got
back to the Order's headquarters. She
loathed this place but she had promised her father that she'd help them fight
off the evilness of Voldermort. And she
knew that they didn't trust her yet so they turned her into their mousy little
slave and made her clean all day.
With each passing day, she hated the house and its
occupants more and more. She detested
the screaming portrait, Molly Weasley always bossing her around and Lupin
brooding over his dead friend. She
hated that she was made to scrub the floors and shine the silver as the clumsy
twit Nymphradora Tonks broke everything in her path.
The only thing she had to look forward to were her monthly
visits to Hogwarts and Snape's classroom.
He intrigued her and she often wondered why he was the way he was. While she hated Lupin's constant bad mood,
she treasured Snape's. It added to the
whole mystery that surrounded the potions master.
Maybe it was silly to have a schoolgirl crush on a man
that regarded her as nothing more than the Order's errand girl but she couldn't
help it. And today she had to touch
him, just to see what she felt. Church
bells didn't go off but she loved the look in his dark eyes as she slid her
hands over his.
"Ah! There
you are," said Molly as she hobbled into the foyer, "I was wondering
when you'd get back."
Jordan lowered her gaze at Molly. "If you haven't notice," she said
as she waved her hand toward the window, "It's snowing outside. I went to Hogwarts and back in a very timely
manner."
p>
"Yes and you're dripping water all over the
floor," said Molly as she pointed at Jordan's wet boots.
Jordan let her eyes travel to her boots and watched as a
chunk of snow slid off onto the floor.
"I suppose they are," she said as she looked up at Molly,
"I have to take this to Lupin."
Molly watched as the younger girl walked past her,
stomping her feet and leaving a trail of snow behind her. She'd have to speak to Dumbledore tonight
about Jordan's sudden change in behavior.
She hated seeing such a sweet girl acting like, well, acting like Snape.
"Lupin is in the study," Molly called out after
Jordan.
Jordan turned the corner and opened the study door. Lupin sat inside, a book opened in front of
him. She placed the potion in front of
him and smiled at him. "I believe
Snape put something special in it this time," she smirked.
Lupin ignored her obvious attempt to get a rise out of
him. Jordan perked an eyebrow and
grabbed his book before flinging it across the room. "Why do you always ignore me? I go out to Hogwarts every month for you and I don't even get a thanks!"
she yelled.
Lupin looked up at her for a moment before standing. He walked over to the other side of the room
and picked up his book before returning to the table. Jordan furrowed her brow and turned to leave.
She closed the door behind her and was greeted by Molly,
who was holding a rag. "I believe
you have a mess to clean up in the foyer," she said as Jordan took the
rag.
Jordan walked out to the foyer and dropped to her knees
with a thud. She was tired of them and
sick of them disrespecting her. She
could out-charm and out-fight them all.
And as she scrubbed the wood floor, she quietly decided that she was
done being the mousy and perfect girl.
~*~
Snape couldn't keep his eyes off her as they sat at the
large table. Dumbledore, or wt
Kt
Kingsley, waskingking about something but he wasn't paying attention. Instead he was watching her, as she seemed
to get antsier by the moment. She kept
twirling her brown hair with her finger and rolling her dark blue eyes.
He watched as she plopped her elbows up on the table and
sigh loudly. Dumbledore stopped talking
and looked over at her. He raised his
eyebrows and started talking again.
"Is there a problem Jordan?" he politely asked.
"Bored," she muttered as she tugged at her hair,
"So utterly bored."
There was a resounding gasp from the table as everyone,
except for Snape, looked at her with wild eyes. No one told Dumbledore he was boring. "Very well then," said Dumbledore,
"How do we make this less boring for you?"
A collective mumbling came over the table as everyone
looked from Dumbledore to Jn ann and readied themselves for what would come
next. "Oh I don't know. Maybe talk about something interesting. It's the same thing every week. 'Our spies haven't found Voldermort
yet'. Blah. Blah. Blah. I'm sure everyone here... well, everyone
except for him," she said as she casually pointed at Lupin, "All he
does is brood... would like to hear something different."
"What do you
suggest then?" asked Dumbledore as he folded his hands on the table.
"Maybe you could use all of the members. I've noticed that I'm the only one that
isn't being used, unless you consider scrubbing some nasty toilet as using
me. I'm not a twit and I did very well
while at Hogwarts. I have field
experience and I am an auror," said Jordan as she looked over at
Dumbledore.
Snape raised an eyebrow.
He hadn't known she was an auror and yet they still didn't use her. "I'd have to agree with Miss
Harris," Snape heard himself say, "It's a pity that you put more trust
in a werewolf than you do her."
"Snape!" said Molly as she stood up, "Why
musu alu always pick on poor Remus? He
hasn't done a thing to you."
"Great," muttered Jordan, "The control
freak is speaking."
p>
"Hey!" said Bill Weasley as he stood up,
"You will not talk about my mum that way."
"Shut up carrot top," sneered Jordan.
This set off a chain reaction of fighting. Almost everyone at the table was now yelling
at someone else about something. The
only two that were silent were Snape and Jordan. She looked over at him and met his dark eyes as she raised an
eyebrow. Snape smirked at her as
Dumbledore finally stood.
font-family:Verdana'>"Enough!" he yelled. Everyone finally quieted down and looked over at him. The elder took a deep breath in and slowly
continued. "I will see about
giving you more to do Jordan," he said as looked over at her,
"Meeting dismissed."
The group all stood and most made a hasty retreat. Jordan walked over to the kitchen counter
and leaned over it so she could grab a cup for her tea. When she stood back up, she felt someone
behind her. "Marvelous show Miss
Harris," whispered Snape in her ear, "I can'tt tot to see what you do
next week."
Jordan bit her bottom lip as he slowly brushed past
her. She turned and watched him walk
down the long foyer, stopping long to turn and look at her. They exchanged smiles before he apparated back to
Hogwarts. Jordan smiled one last time
before turning to fetch herself some tea as she thought of Snape the whole
time.
A/N: Shall I continue? Want to learn more about Jordan's past? Want to see what happens between Snape and her (it might include
some chains and a flogge^)?
