Title: A Fateful
Reunite
Rating: PG
Waring: One swearword? some mush, that?s about it.
Pairing: Draco x
Harry, Hermione x Ron.
Category:

Author?s Notes:
This story is? okay, I guess. I?ve been wanting to write a few one shots to get
away from my three main running stories? It took me forever to write one that I
liked; every plot I thought of just didn?t work, it always ending eingeing too
complicated to be just a one shot.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the story.

*sigh* I so wish it where, but it?s not mine.
One Shot: Running
and Chasing
Harry Potter is a famous and popular wizard, his well known
for his courage and for, of course, saving the wizarding world from Lord
Volort, ort, a dark and powerful man.
Harry, you?d recognise as soon as you saw him walking down a
street, for his pictures were everywhere, you didn?t go through a day without
seeing or hearing mention of the wizarding worlds hero.
In the pictures you?d see a tall man, close to six foot
seven. A tanned complex would blend well with his dark ink black hair, that
would fall around his face in a messy fashion, his bright green eyes would be
shinning with raw emotion, happiness, sadness (though this was hardly seen)
anger, amusement or love (this hardly ever being seen either).
He was claimed to be one of the sexiest wizards. Wemen
wanted to marry him, men wanting to be him, children wanting to meet him. He
was their king, their hero.
When he was only sixteen, he had saved them from the bad
guy, though if you ever referred to Voldermort as ?the bad guy,? people would
surly inform you that ?bad? didn?t even cover what that man had been? if he had
even been a man in the first place.
Harry Potter is now twenty-one, a young, single, handsome
and rich man. He had friends, a good job, fame, wealth, a grand house? what
more could one want?
His best friends knew the answer to this question, he wanted
love; for Harry Potter was alone on the inside, no matter how crowded the room
he was in was, he was still alone. He wanted to be loved, to find the other
half of his soul? again.
Of course there was one person that could fill his heart,
one person that could take his loneliness away, but this person had gone
missing years ago.
Harry had actually been dating his soulmate, he had loved
him, and been loved in return. And yes, it was a ?him? that he had loved. For,
unbeknownst to the community, their hero was gay.
During sixth grade, Harry had dated a boy he would never
stop loving, he had given his heart to one person? after the war was finished,
this one pn han had vanished, no note, no goodbye, no nothing. There was just
no word from him, he had vanished, no body? he was gone.
No one really knew what had happened to him, of course there
weour our everyday rumours. Gone dark, died, ran away? many other things. But
Harry knew the truth, he knew what had happened, and everyday he hit himself
for it. It was his fault that his love had gone.
The minute he had finally killed Voldermort, as he stood
over his body, he had looked up, to see the crowed standing around him in a
stunned yet joyful shock. Then, he had heard his name called, he spun around,
only to see a flash of red and then someone in his arms.
He had just been so happy with the turn of events, he had
always thought that he was going to die, that he?d loose. So he hugged and spun
around with the small body in his arms, laughing with joy with the other,
kissing the other, holding the other? Ginny, it had been her? not his love, not
the one who had been in the crowed, not the one that had seen this display.
He knew that his love had been in the crowed. He would have
seen the whole thing with Ginny, and because of it he would have left.
So now Harry was alone, oh sure, he had Ginny? but that
wasn?t the same? she wasn?t what he wanted, and she knew it. He had told her
everything. When he had found that his love had gone, he had gone right to
Ginny, yelled at her, screamed and blamed her? when, in the end, he knew it was
as much his fault as it was hers.
She had liked him, not loved him, liked him. She had cried and apologised over and over again. She
hadn?t known he was in love with another, that he had been with another at the
time. If she had known, surly she would have never done it. But it was too late
now, he was gone.
So, in order to repent for her actions, Ginny promised to do
anything. They actually became closer, sister and brother basically. He talked
to her and she listened.
He wouldn?t ever see his love again, and he knew it. He just
wished he had told the world whom it was he had been dating, he wished he had
told everyone. But there was a reason as to why he didn?t. It was too
dangerous; Voldermort could have used the information against him. It wasn?t
safe for the both of them. But now he was gone? Harry was alone.
(~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*)
Harry was sitting in the back of the small café, in a small
town near France.
He was waiting for his two best friends to turn up. They had all decided to go
on a holiday, just the three of them. France was the best place to go to.
Hermione and Ron had broken off, going to another section
while Harry went another way, all deciding to meet up at the small café.
The village, Harry discovered, was beautiful. It was in
front of mountains, giving it a secluded look. The roads were paved, the houses
small and cottage looking. Shops were all homey and welcoming, people always
being polite and smiling.
It was a beautiful place to settle down into.
Harry had ordered a coffee while he waited. Hermione and
Ron, knowing them, would take forever to get to the cafe, poor Ron would be
dragged to all the stores there were in town.
Hermione and Ron had actually dated for a few years, before
breaking up under good conditions, each just agree to take a small break. But
they were still inseparable, the small time-out making them even more
inseparable. Harry didn?t even know why they bothered with the whole time-out
thing.
He sighed as he leaned back in the chair, listening with
closed eyes to the French accents around him, hearing their words and trying to
decipher them. He knew only a small amount of French, not much at all.
?Your coffee, Mon chere? a clean cut accent brought him out
of his thoughts, making him look up to see a young man, mid-twenties, standing
next to him. The man had brown hair and brown eyes, very handsome.
He smiled to Harry as he placed the coffee in front of him,
then turned and left, taking an order from a table across from Harry before he
went back behind the store.
Harry turned to his coffee, taking a small sip.
The small bell chimed as the front door to the café was
opened on the other side of the room, he didn?t bother turning around to see if
it was Hermione and Ron, it wouldn?t be, it was still under an hour. A cold
draft entering the cosy room as it did.
?Where have you been?? A lady behind the counter called,
most likely to the new comer.
?Out. Massy, I?m tired, please lay off the scolding, just
for today? the reply was said between a yawn, proving the fact.
Harry looked up and over to the counter, he saw the back of
a young man standing there, blonde hair pulled back into a pony-tail at the
nape of his neck. The man was wearing blue jeans, and a grey shirt being
revealed as the man took off his jacket.
As soon as Harry saw the blonde hair his heart leaped, it
always leaped when he saw blonde, thinking that just maybe it was his long lost
lover.
When the man turned around, Harry was disappointed to see
hazel eyes and a freckle covered face ? not his lover?s soft angel face.
?Table six and eight need their orders taken? said the lady
sternly, passing over a small note pad and a pen, as well as a black apron.
Mumbling to himself, the man put on his apron and began to
take orders with a fake smile.
Again the bell chimed, this time with Hermione and Ron
walking through the door, both wearing identical expressions.
?Hey guys, what?s up?? Harry asked, smiling to them as they
dropped into the seat opposite him.
Hermione and Ron exchanged looks, each not knowing what to
say, then, Hermione turned back to him and tried to smile as she shook her
head. ?Nothing, it?s nothing? she said, calling a waiter over, the same one
with the blonde hair.
Both seemed to jump when they saw the waiter, but soon
calmed and smiled to the man, ordering a coffee ? straight black ? and a tea,
two sugars and small amount of milk, as well as hot chips.
?Something?s up? Harry said, eyeing the two in front of him.
He watched as the two exchanged looks again. ?It?s nothing,
honestly mate? Ron said, smiling, then, he took Hermione?s hand, ?Me and ?Monie
decided to drop the time-out thing? he said.
Harry would have congratulated them, if it hadn?t been for
Hermione?s shocked face.
?Alright, what?s going on?? he demanded, narrowing his eyes
on the two guilty faces.
There was a large silence between them, then Hermione
finally broke, ?Oh Harry, we?re so sorry, we don?t know how to say this? we
thought it was safer to just act like it didn?t happed-?
Harry raised a brow, ?Like what didn?t happen?? he asked.
?W-we, we?re so sorry Harry, b-but we saw him, he was just
down the street from us, we panicked, he hadn?t seen us, but we saw him, we
didn?t know what to do, we ran straight here? I?m so sorry Harry? the girl
cried, thought there were no tears, she looked close to it
Harry turned narrowed eyes to his other friend, ?Ron, what?s
she talking about?? he asked.
Ron visibly gulped, the front door chimed again, but no one
payed it attention, only the visibly paling Ron.
With a shaky hand, Ron pointed over Harry?s shoulder.
?Th-that? he said, looking straight over Harry?s shoulder.
With a confused frown, Harry turned in his seat looking
across the room, only to find his heart stop dead.
That was his love? on the other side of the room, standing
just near the door, was his love. He looked just like Harry remembered him;
blonde silky hair falling around the pale angel face, silver eyes not cold like
ice, but burning with a silver flame. His cheeks were pink, as well as the tip
of his nose, from the cold snow outside, he was removing his jacket.
?D-Draco? Harry said, his voice hardly even audible. His
eyes had widened at the man he saw standing just a few meters from him, the one
and only person he had ever really loved.
He hadn?t seen the man in five years, but he?d always
remember that face, those eyes.
With the feeling of eyes on him, the blonde slowly scanned
over the café, his eyes slowly coming to stop at the back of the shop, his eyes
widening as they met green.I wanted?? the husky voice continued. Harry shifted, moving into a
more comfortable position against the small body.
Again Draco slowly shook his head. ?N-n-no? I? I kn-knew
your answer would b-be no? b-but I th-thought y-you just didn?t n-notice what a
g-good life Ginny c-could give you? I-I thought I-I was holding you back? he
stuttered out in a shaky voice, licking his dry lips.
Harry slowly shook his head. ?You don?t understand. You
never held me back, you were the first to ever let me be me, to not hold back?
he said, voice still husky and low.
Draco bit his lower lip, ?B-but yo-you looked happy with
her? he said, confusion shinning in his teary eyes.
Harry softened upon seeing the tears in those silver eyes.
He shifted, raising one hand to rest on the pale cheek, ?Draco, I had just
defeated Voldermort, of course I was happy, but it had nothing to do with
Ginny? he said, his thumb stroking the soft skin.
?B-but it reminded me, a-about what Ron h-had said?? he
said, trailing off, a small single tear slipping down his cheek, stopping at
Harry?s thumb.
Harry?s own eyes narrowed.
He remembered that. They had been dating for a few months
and Harry had decided to tell his friends about them? that hadn?t gone too bad.
One time he had been woken up by a trembling Draco; the
Slytherin had crawled onto his bed, shaking and trying to fight tears.
Harry had taken him into his arms and pulled him under the
blankets, asking him what was the matter.
It took a while for the blonde to admit that he had just
spoken to Ron. Ron had said some things that had made Draco doubt himself and
Harry?s love. It had taken day?s to talk the boy out of breaking up, and even
longer to get him back to the way he used to act.
Harry had stopped talking to Ron for that, not until the boy
approached Draco and apologised. It had taken a while, but the apology finally
came.
?I thought I had told you not to believe what he had said?
Harry stated, wiping another small tear away.
?I-I know? but I couldn?t help it? wh-when I saw you with
Ginny? his words just came back and? and I just acted? he said.
They were silent for a while, both looking into the others
eyes. Finally Harry broke the stare, backing up from the man as he dropped his
hands to his side.
?Well, I know I?m up to a nice coffee? he said, trying to
break the silence and depressive mood.
Draco chuckled, wiping another tear away with the back of
his hand as he turned to the kettle, he poured them their drinks and gestured
for Harry to take his drink and follow.
Draco sat at the lounge in front of a television, his legs
folded under himself as he held the mug with both hands, not realising how cold
they had been.
Harry sat beside him, holding the cup in much the same
manner.
Since he had lit the fire, the room was warm, helping both
to keep out of freezing. The crackling of the wood helped to ease the silence,
both thinking over the news they had heard.
Draco took a sip of his drink, relaxing in the warmth that
spread through his body. He looked over to the window near the front door, it
was snowing again. He then glanced to the clock above a small computer desk, it
was also six, the sky was cloudy and grey and the shadows were growing.
Draco yawned, his eyes blinking closed then open. He hadn?t
been sleeping too well for the past few days, mostly because he had found an
interesting book that he kept reading late into the night, and from that run he
did today, the lack of sleep was catching up on him.
His eyes closed again, only to open them when he felt his
mug being taken out of his hands, he looked over to Harry who had placed both
their mugs on the ground.
?You looked like you?d drop of to sleep at any given moment,
don?t want to spill your drink? the man said, though this didn?t explain why he
put his own drink down.
Sleepily, the man nodded, yawning again. With a chuckle,
Harry held out his arms, ?Come here? he said, smiling gently to Draco?s
slightly shocked face.
Though he was shocked at the invite, Draco?s body acted
automatically, as it had always done when Harry invited him to cuddle. He
crawled over to the other side of the lounge, into the warm arms of his
ex-lover.
He soon made himself comfortable, his head lying in Harry?s
lap, his own arms wrapped lightly around the other mans waist, his legs tucked
in slightly. Harry?s arms were resting around him, one lying over his waist as
the other began to play with his hair.
Once again Draco found his eyes fluttering closed, heaviness
keeping them closed. He had so many questions to ask, like what was going to
happen now? Did this mean they were back together? Had Harry forgiven him? What
was going to happen now?
But tiredness prevented him asking questions, he soon found
himself falling into a beautiful sleep, warmth surrounding his body. In the
distance he heard the television being turned on, he was asleep before he could
even listen to what was on.
Harry smiled down at his sleeping love, his hands ran
through the silky hair, the television was on a randomly chosen channel, but
his eyes didn?t lift to watch the show, they stayed on the sleeping angel.
He chuckled and leaned down, placing a kiss on Draco?s
temple, pulling back he watched as a small smile curved onto Draco?s lips, his
head nuzzling closer as his arms tightened around Harry?s waist.
He understood Draco?s reasons, and he knew he couldn?t blame
the man for what he did. He?d probably do the same if the situations were
reversed, but what they both needed to understand, was that they deserved each
other, and that fate wanted them to be together, why else would they meet up
again?
Harry was never one for going against fate.
?You?re stuck with me for life Draco? he whispered to the
man, his words, although they weren?t heard, did manage to get through to some
part of the blonde, as he smiled again, shifting himself closer to Harry?s warm
body.
~The End
Authors Notes: I
don?t really know if I like this story, in some way I do like it? in another? I
just don?t? oh well, I have my good points and bad points about all my stories,
lol.
Help: Okay, I?ve
been trying to write some one shots, thing is, I can never get a plot that?s
easy enough. I always tend to get these complicated things that would take me
decades to get out. At the moment I?ve found myself writing AU?s for
Harry/Draco, in the Victorian times? weird, I know, and I?m really into
vampires at the moment, as well as dark Harry.
Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone has any plot bunnies that
would go well for a one shot. I just want to write a simple story that has
Draco and Harry romance? got any ideas? anyone?
Hope you liked this story, review if you want.
