Inside number 12 Grimmauld Place old and new friends were enjoying a quaint night of talk and drinks. Around the wide table in the kitchen sat a
group of people welcoming the first calm and carefree night in a long time. Even Molly Weasley, the all-around mother, was partaking in a drink
and conversation. Sirius Black was entertaining everyone with one of his stories from the past, being just a bit plastered from the frothy
drink in his mug. The young ones around the table laughed at the outlandish words coming from the storytellers mouth and at his drunken
actions. It was a good night. With the trials that had presenthemthemselves in the last year these lofty nights in the summer were most
pleasant. The house of Black was full of life for the first time, in a long time.
The museful moments of bliss were suddenly disturbed by an incessant pounding on the front door of number 12. Those around the table stopped
what they were doing and exchanged glances. Everyone who knew of number 12 just walked in, they never knocked, and no one else could find this
place.
"Children you stay here," Mrs. Weasley commanded, "We'll go out and see who it is."
The five adults rose from their chairs and moved to the exit in the kitchen. Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny stayed planted in theirs seats,
obeying Molly's order.
Sirius was the first to reach the door where the pounding had stopped. He waited a moment before opening it, turning the handle slowly and
cautiously. Before the door was fully open it was forced wider by a body falling through it. A women came crashing to the floor but just
before she hit it Sirius Black caught her in his arms and fell to his knees under the weight.
"Oh god," was all Molly could say as she looked down at the girl. Her hair was long and black and matted in places. Her skin was pale, a
light white like porcelain, with no hint of color at the moment. The small green dress she was wearing was torn to almost shreds. Sirius lifted
her up to stand weakly as Remus Lupin, a shabby man in old, patched robes, took off his own coat and covered the girls exposed body.
"I'll go get Dumbledore," Kingsley Shaklebolt said before he apparated from the entry way.
Soft moans drifted from the mystery girls mouth as she attempted to stand with the help of Sirius. Her legs were wobbly and threatening to
give away at any moment.
"We need to set her down," Remus said as he went to the girls other side to help Sirius.
"Lets take her upstairs and lye her in a bed," suggested Tonks, a girl with short pink hair and a high pitched voice.
Not knowing what else to do Sirius and Remus began to carry the girl up the stairs, followed closely by Tonks.
"Who is that?" someone asked from the doorway of the kitchen.
"Go back into the kitchen Harry," Molly said in her strict mother tone. Harry went back in followed by Ron, Hermione and Ginny where they sat
and waited.
Tonks led the men to a empty bedrdowndown the right corridor of The Black House, where they placed the girl on the bed. She appeared to be
unconscious now, her eyes closed and breathing slow, so Molly pulled the sheets up around her and tucked her in.
"Who is she?" Tonks asked to no one in particular.
"More importantly how did she find the house?" Sirius asked.
"Well just have to wait for Dumbledore to arrive," Remus said while they all looked down upon the snow white girl before them.
"I'll go get her some of my clothes to wear for when she wakes up," Tonks offered as she left the room to go to her own.
"Should someone stay and watch her?" Sirius asked very logically; The whole situation seemed to sober him up a bit. "I mean we don't know
who she is."
"She can't do anything, I think she'll be asleep for a while," Molly told them. "Come on, we should tell them."
They took one last look at the sleeping girl and left her alone in the room. Down in the kitchen they were bombarded by questions for answers of which they didn't know.
Who was she? Where did she come from? What happened to her? What was she doing there?
