One Shot – Bad Day
Draco frowned deeply as he stepped out of a large building, his hands buried
deep into his jeans pockets as he slowly made his way down the stairs.
Over and over in his head he replayed the scene he had just exited from.
“I’m sorry Mr…”
“Black” Draco helped, fighting back the urge to roll his eyes.
“Mr Black” the teller continued; his voice soft and calm as if he was
trying to explain to a child why they couldn’t get a lolly. Draco was truly
insulted. “There isn’t enough money in your account to cover the fees” The man
said, his hands calmly resting on the table as he looked steadily at the
dumbfounded blonde.
“But… how?” Draco asked, his head shaking from
side to side as he tried to figure out what had gone wrong.
Looking growlingly, yet managing to mask it to a majority Annoyed, the teller took a deep breath, and once
again the child was being forbidden his lolly. “If you wish, I can have a look
at your transactions for the last two weeks.” His
fingers were already moving over the keyboard before Draco gave his
consent.
“Sure” the blonde muttered, resting his arms over the desk, as he waited
to hear where his money had gone.
After a few seconds of typing in codes and words, the teller nodded as if
something that had appeared on the screen was exactly what he had expected to
see. After a few seconds of scanning the list, he turned the LCD to face the
blonde, showing him the transactions of the past two weeks.
It was starting to become obvious as to where the money had gone. His
silver eyes narrowed as he read through the details. Oh yes, it was obvious as
to why his cheque had bounced. He was definitely broke, something that wasn’t
entirely new to him, though it was unexpected.
Today, however, was really not his day.
First his alarm forgot to wake him, causing him to be late for his optometrist appointment, and when he did reach the optometrist he discovered that he was in need of a
new pair of glasses, (that itself was a fine digit to observe. Then he
discovered, via a call on his mobile, that his cheque had
bounced from a payment he had made on a bed two weeks ago, and then when he
tried to pay for his new glasses he found that his account didn’t have enough funds. He was entirely broke, and he was yet
to pay half his bills!
Fighting back a growl of frustration,
Draco read over the words again, the entire ordeal was truly starting to become
real, too real. Josephine was truly starting to show her colours.
Every transaction made, was all – no doubt – done on something idiotic
and entirely useless. Then again, when he had broken up with the woman three months ago he should have expected this
turn of events. She always had that ‘I’ll get you for leaving me’ gleam. So
this was her revenge for him leaving. Pathetic, yet… effective, seeing as now
he was completely broke.
The teller continued to wait, his fingers drumming annoyingly on the
desk, his eyes resting on the blonde, waiting for him to understand that, yes,
there were to be no more lollies coming his way.
Keeping his composure as calm as he could – that in itself wasn’t very
calm – Draco leaned against the desk. “Is there a way I can cancel that card?”
He asked, his eyes narrowed, daring the man to speak a negative, he was
rewarded with a positive nod and the LCD screen turned back to the teller, his
fingers working quickly over the keyboard.
“Okay, I’ve locked it, so that it can no longer get used. But we need you
to sign this documents to fully cancel the card” the man said, opening a drawer and extracting a file.
He pulled out a piece of paper and, after he
ticked and scribbled in a few boxes and lines, slid it across to the blonde.
Draco nodded, his hand running tiredly through his hair. “Okay” he
stated, his eyes tiredly scanning the form, making sure he was aware of what he
was signing. It all seemed a simple procedure,
nothing looking out of order. With the pen that was handed to him, Draco placed
his signature in the designated area.
“And some proof of ID, a drivers licence will be fine” the man supplied
as he watched Draco sign the paper.
Sighing, the blonde dug into his pocket and pulled out the black wallet. Flicking it open he easily pulled out his drivers
licence, showing it to the man, who in turn nodded with a quick scan.
Handing the paper back he watched as the teller continued to type
expertly on the keyboard, his eyes darting over the screen before him and every now and again looking back to
the paper. “Okay, that’s done, your card has been
cancelled. Is there anything else?” He asked, his eyes looking questionably,
yet with trained politeness back to Draco, who in turn shook his head with a
sigh. “Okay then. Thank you” the man said, already looking over the blonde's
shoulder to the next customer.
Making his way slowly down the footpath, his hands still buried in his
pockets, Draco gave a sigh of frustration.
What had he done to deserve all this? What
had he done to piss the gods off so much that they thought they should punish
him with such a horrid day? Was his day going to get better at all?
He made his
way towards his car – a deep maroon Kia, the first car he ever learnt to drive
in, and the only car for him – though it wasn’t much of a car, to him it was
his one and only car. As he approached the car, the blondes
eyes were attracted to a small white piece of paper slipped under his left
window wiper. With a much slower pace and a small cringe – that steadily grew –
the blonde approached his car, his eyes glued to the one thing that only helped
to make his day worse. If he had known all this was to happen today he would
have surely stayed in bed and skipped it.
He couldn’t help but bitterly think of his parents and how proud
they’d be of him, to know that their son – though already knowing he was living
in the muggle world, friends with muggles and working a muggle job – he was
also steadily losing money. It would have to be the first time, ever, that a
Malfoy was broke.
With a tight, nauseous, feeling in his stomach, Draco pulled the ticket from
his car, his eyes slowly travelling over it, dreading to see that digit that
would demand payment. Thirty pounds.
Closing his eyes, the blonde felt close to screaming. His hand had already
began to tighten around the helpless paper, his nails begging to dig deep into
its thin flesh, beginning to tear it up, to hear it’s screams of pain… and,
though paper could not scream and beg for forgiveness, Draco felt rather
compelled to carry out his desired actions.
However, knowing it was stupid to take his anger
out on the ticket, he growled in the back of his throat and proceeded to
unlock the car door and threw the wretched
bill into the car wishing it had landed heavily somewhere, and preferably
broken with a loud sound… not float soundlessly to the car floor, landing
happily there, the payment shining happily up at him. This was a child that had
received its lolly, and Draco was ready to throttle it for having such a calm
outlook.
Once again he had to remind himself as he slid into the car that the paper would not scream in pain, therefore he could not
take his anger out on it.
Starting the engine, with the help of threatening murmurs of destroying his
mood any further by not cooperating, Draco was for once granted his wish as the
engine fired up healthily. Making sure that
everything was in order, and it was not about to pull a fast one on him, Draco
deemed the car safe enough to get him home in one piece.
Pulling out from his parking spot, the blonde made his way down the road.
When he had left Hogwarts - with flying colours on his NEWTS - Draco had
moved into the muggle world, of course without carrying the shame of the Malfoy
family as he did. His entire family had shown their disapproval as he packed
his belongings. They had all made sure he understood when they said not to come
to them if he ever needed help, for they would not help a traitor, or a muggle
lover.
Draco had been fine with the arrangements. He lived a quite and happy life
in the muggle world, free from the Malfoy obligations, and they would leave him
alone, pretending he didn’t exist. In his opinion it had been the perfect
solution.
Now, six years later, he wasn’t so sure. Of course he had been broke on a
few occasions, but he normally picked up in the end. Sure he had his rough
times, but he had always managed to get through them with some ease. But today,
today he was starting to think the world was punishing him for his decision.
That the Malfoy family had decided to show him that he could not survive in the
world without them backing him up.
With that thought moving through his mind, Draco growled. No matter how hard
his life became, no matter how poor he was, or how much he needed help, the
last people he would run to would be them. He could survive without their help. He had survived for six years without them, why give
in now?
Now, with that thought cheering him up – if only a little – Draco continued
to drive, watching as the buildings grew smaller and further apart with multiple amounts of trees sprouting along the
road.
He lived in a small neighbourhood away from any
major areas. He liked his home, it was small, cosy and decent, something that
didn’t scream wealth – though that was the theme he was used to from his
childhood, it was also a theme he couldn’t afford – but it did say that it was his
home, and that it was cosy. He wouldn’t mind moving though.
With another thought that involved finance entering his head, Draco cringed,
his hands tightening on the steering wheel, knuckles turning white. It didn’t
help his slowly growing finance depression when he looked over to where the
ticket had landed, thirty pounds… how was he supposed to even fork out enough
money for that?
He looked up suddenly when he heard the screeching and squealing of tyres followed by the unmistaken sound of a horn
screaming at him. It was too late to act, and all Draco could do to try and
escape the head on collision was to swerve his car to the side and push his
foot hard onto the breaks.
Within seconds the car pounded into the side of a black BMW Z4 with a
violent jerk and ear splitting sound.
Draco was thrusted forward before being pounded back into his seat by the
force of the impact.
Closing his eyes and trying to recapture his now shaky breath, Draco raised
a shaking hand to his forehead where he could feel a small bruise already
forming where it had hit the steering wheel.
What god hated him?
With a groan Draco opened his eyes, allowing – if not slightly unwillingly –
his gaze to look pass the cracked glass of the front of his car to the car that
was now very close to him… showing considerable damage.
“Bloody fucking great” he murmured to himself as he watched as the door of
the car he had rammed into open and the driver step out. Slowly, and yet again
unwillingly, Draco also climbed out of his car – if not a little shakily.
Luckily the gods didn’t hate him that much – finally something good
and cheap at the same time was going his way.
Draco was releaved to find that he was not, in
anyway, seriously injured. Just the small bruise, that would later show on his
forehead from where he had head butted the steering wheel, something that made
him frown and look back to the car in wonder about what had happened to his air
bags. But in any case, there was no broken bones, no fractured heads, no blood…
he was alive and still well… if not loaded with a few extra bills and a
possible future travel into shock.
Looking up, feeling anything but ready to face the wrath of a pissed off
driver… he had not though, been readying to find himself looking up into wide
surprised green eyes.
Draco’s face took on a simular expression as the driver in front of him,
except he gasped in shock, whereas the other driver just stood there in shock
and silence.
There, no more then five feet away, stood none other then Harry Potter! The
same Harry Potter he had known during his schooling years, the same Harry
Potter he had teased mercilessly during those
seven years… the same Harry Potter that was now recovering from his shock and
crossing his arms over his chest, leaning against his car and smirking back at
him, with now alight and dancing eyes watching him with also another emotion
shinning through them that he couldn’t quite pinpoint.
This was really, really not becoming his day.
With a groan, Draco dropped back against his own car, his energy slowly
leaving his body as the events of the day caught up
to him, and now this! Running a hand through his hair, he looked back to the
tall man, his eyes full of dread that he didn’t even bother to conceal.
Harry’s smirk widened slightly, the unnamed emotion in his eyes sparkling
brighter then before.
“Potter” Draco said, his eyes momentarily closing as he pinched the bridge
of his nose. “Just perfect” he murmured more to himself.
“Draco, fancy bumping into you… or the other way around, in our case” Harry
stated, his eyes flashing towards the damaged cars before they rested back on
the blonde.
Wincing slightly at the choice of words, Draco sighed. “Fancy seeing you
too” he said, his eyes tiredly coming to rest on the man.
The blonde noticed small… yet noticeable changes with the brunette.
Harry was tall, probably just a little taller then last time he had seen him
in seventh year, this hight brought him, at the most, a head over Draco
himself, something he had never been too happy about.
Apart from the hight, Harry’s physic had also changed little. He was still
firm and athletic looking, most probably holding a few well defined muscles
under his deep red silk shirt, as well as the olive tan.
His brunette hair was still as messy as ever, yet now it held the look of
rich rebel, yet powerful appeal, not ‘I forgot to brush my hair when I woke up’
appeal… he was yet to figure out how hair portrayed such thoughts to viewers.
His eyes were the same deep jade green, still holding that glint of power,
reminding those who knew, that Harry Potter was currently the most powerful
wizard that roamed the world, as well as the only one who was able to defeat
Voldemort numerous times.
He could still remember when he wore those horrible glasses, before he had
ridded himself of them in his sixth year. When Harry had worn those glasses, it
seemed like they hid his power, it was like they hid his true extent. But
looking at those clear and unconcealed eyes now, he could see vividly how
powerful this wizard was, it was exciting, yet slightly nerve racking, seeing
as this powerful wizard hates him, and he had just rammed his expensive car.
Though Harry remained as hot as Draco could remember him being, though he
seemed especially extra hot with those tight black jeans, long sleeve
blood red silk shirt and long leather coat, and let's
not forget the dark sunglasses that had been pushed up to rest on top of his
head, almost hidden in his mop of dark hair, but even with all this, he was not
keen on hearing the bill that was surly going to make him sink further into
debt and the casually coming depression.
With a small groan, the blonde tried not to bite into his lip, “Okay, I know
you’re having a field day here. But I’ve got other places to be. So what’s the
bill?” he asked.
“Bill?” Harry questioned, his eyes skimming over the damage of his car.
“Well that’s hard to say. This is, after all, a BMW Z4, not a cheap car like…”
he frowned as he tried to decipher Draco’s, something that made the blonde
blush lightly as the difference was considerably noticeable… So what though? It
was still his baby girl!
“Leave it alone, Potter. Listen, I’m not in the mood for this, now can you
just give me the damn bill, so we can go our separate ways?” he snapped,
frowning as he dug his hand into his pocket and kept it there.
Harry didn’t look affected in the slightest, and he merely smiled
charmingly. “I haven’t seen you since school” he stated, making the blonde
blink in confusion. “What have you been up to?” the ex-Gryffindor asked, his
eyes trained on Draco with interested.
Frowning, and feeling a little more confused then before, Draco rubbed his
forehead. “Why do you want to know? Listen Potter, I’ve had a rather bad day
today, and I’d appreciate it if you would just cut me some slack and gave me an
estimate price on the repairs” Draco said, closing his eyes in his weariness.
“Hm, now this is becoming a rather interesting day. Malfoy, did I just hear
you… pleading with me, Harry Potter?” The brunette asked, his brows raised in mock surprise.
The blonde was not impressed as he balled his hands into fists, once again
that feeling that had over came him when he had held that defenceless piece of
paper in his hand was back, his anger, frustration and tiredness taking over.
“Listen, Potter, I really am not in
the mood” he hissed, his eyes narrowing on the man in front of him.
Harry raised a brow, “Sounds like you did have a tough day” he stated
offhandedly, not even sounding nervous with the Malfoy wrath brewing in front
of him, ready to burst.
With a shout of frustration, Draco threw his hands into the air, his eyes
turning to the heavens for help. “Merlin!
Potter, are you trying to be difficult?” he asked.
Harry only smiled gently, his eyes softening, “No, I’m just trying to have a
civil conversation with an old schoolmate I haven’t seen in six years” he
stated honestly.
Now with a look of pure confusion on his face, Draco tried to find the
world’s alignment… perhaps there was something going on with the stars,
something that was causing Potter to suffer from some kind of memory loss… or
something like that. “What?” he asked in heavy disbelief.
Chuckling, the brunette pushed himself off his car, his eyes dancing with
amusement. “You seem surprised” he stated, his head tilting to the side, his green
eyes – noticeably – making a sweep of the blonde’s body. “You’ve changed a lot,
I almost didn’t recognise you” he stated.
“You’ve grown your hair out, and I think this is the first time I’ve ever
seen it without gel and actually tussled. And I know for a fact that this is
the first time I’ve ever seen you wearing muggle clothing, it suits you though.
Your eyes are the same silver though, and you’ve still got the same old milky
white skin, and I think you’re a little smaller then last time I saw you” the
man commented, pointing out some things that Draco found bizarre that Harry
would even recognise, - though he did try to ignore the small comment,
he wasn’t small… he was average hight and everyone else was just tall – But,
for instance, most people assumed his eyes were grey, or at the least blue. It
took a deep look into them to notice that they were indeed silver. Though he
found this odd on itself, he was also trying to analyse whether Harry had just
spoken to him in a slightly husky, flirting, way… or whether it was just his
imagination.
Raising a brow, Draco looked up at the man. “You’re… weird” was all he found
coming to him.
Harry’s brow raised, an amused grin tugging at the corner of his lips. “Okay
then” he said, nodding with the blondes description of him, he seemed to be
close to that look, that same look Draco could swear if closely examined was
like an adult agreeing with the child that yes, the clouds were made of ice
cream, to amuse the child and at the same time finding amusement from their
young beliefs… Why were people acting as if he were some kind of child today?
Draco was silently cursing himself, of all the things to say… he went and
called the man weird! It was most definitely a toss between embarrassing or
truthful. There was a small tinge to his cheeks as he watched the brunette
become more amused, and he had to fight off its growth as the green eyes looked
back at him, studying him.
Yes, he had to admit to himself, Potter had indeed become
more handsome, but he was also forced to admit that the man was now also
insane, a sad loss, he was sure.
“Are you even going to give me a bill… or are you going to continue to
discuss life?” he asked, trying to put a move on with his collection of bills.
As much as he would have liked to get to know the insane Potter, as much as
he was trying to get to know him, Draco really did feel that to give his hopes
into the thought of Harry even remotely showing sane interest in him – instead
of the insane interested he was currently showing – was fruitless, and just
seeing his old crush from school was bad enough, let alone getting teased by
him with his insane interest.
Harry’s amusement seemed to be growing. “This is interesting” he admitted,
making Draco growl in annoyance.
“What’s interesting Potter” he snapped, wanting to get it over and done
with. It was late and he was in desperate need of just getting home and
collapsing on his bed. It was interesting that no cars had pulled over to
assist them… they probably assumed everything was under control - Though this
didn’t stop them from slowing down to press their noses against their window to
see what had happened.
Harry tilted his head to the side, his hip now resting against the black
BMW. “You” he admitted, watching Draco with deep interest.
“What about me?” the blonde hissed, his patience once again slipping.
“Well, you’re going on about me giving you some bill, so you can pay for the
damage. While I admit that it is kind of you to offer such a thing, but have
you forgotten about repairing charms?” the brunette asked, his lips tugged up
into a small smirk as he watched the blondes cheeks become a light shade of
crimson.
Now he knew a god hated him! He had spent his entire life - minus six
years - in the wizarding world. He had lived around magic, breathed magic and
practised magic… and yet he lives in the muggle world for six years and forgets
all about using a simple repairing charm … something that could take his
problems away without the need to pay a hefty bill.
He was so use to living life as a muggle that it was actually rare for him
to use his magic… and he enjoyed life that way.
“Forget your heritage?” Harry asked.
With a deep scowl, the blonde ex-Slytherin crossed his arms over his chest.
“I didn’t forget” he snapped, “I merely thought it’d be easier to use
the muggle way around… but by all means, save me a bill and fix your bloody car
by yourself.”
“Now, now, temper” Harry said, waving a finger back and forth, once again
reminding Draco of a child, this time being scowled.
That was most definitely it. With a growl of frustration, Draco leapt
forward. He successfully knocked the brunette down with his surprise attack.
Glaring down at him, Draco grabbed the front of his shirt, his legs straddling
the man in place. “Potter, I’m sick and tired of your games. Either fix the car
yourself or send a fucking bill to me” he hissed, a handful of Harry’s shirt
being pulled tight.
To his surprise, Harry only looked calmly up at him before giving him a
quick grin. And with a small undignified squeak, he found himself being pushed
off the man, and within moments he was finding himself looking up into green
eyes instead of down.
Harry smiled down at him. “Only if you agree to come out to dinner with me”
he replied easily. His smile widened when Draco ceased all struggles to get out
from beneath him and instead stared wide eyed up at him.
“Wh-what?”
he asked in a surprised voice.
“I’ll fix the damages on my own, only if you agree to go out to dinner with
me, tonight” Harry stated, his eyes levelling and locking with Draco’s easily.
To say he was feeling shocked was an understatement. Draco was trying all
ways to think about what was going on. Either Potter had completely lost his
mind, or this was some kind of ploy to trick him into something, and as if
reading his mind, Harry slowly climbed to his feet, and grabbing the blondes
hand and giving a strong tug to pull him to his feet as he smiled down at him.
“No trick. I just want to talk to you, nothing more. And I’m willing to
forget about the damage to my car and fix it myself if you agree to go to
dinner with me” he said.
Slowly the blonde came out of his shock, and in doing so was able to realise
his hand was still being held by Harry’s, with a quick tug to release his limb,
Draco narrowed his eyes on the ex-Gryffindor. “That’s blackmail” he stated.
Harry only shrugged. With another glance to the damage of the car, Draco
flinched before nodding. “Fine, Potter… you win” he said.
Harry’s reply was to only beam at him.
“But only because I’m feeling too tired to argue” he claimed, glaring up at
the still beaming, if not slightly amused, Potter.
“Of course it is” Harry said with a small nod, though his eyes didn’t stop
from looking back to the blonde in amusement.
Draco sighed as he once again ran a hand through his hair and looked back to
the two cars that were heavily implanted in one another, it was almost
unbelievable that both himself and Harry were able to walk away from such
damage with little injuries, and remembering just that, Draco glanced back to
Potter and did a quick scan of his body, there wasn’t even a scratch or a
bruise on the man. It wouldn’t surprise him if Potter had some kind of
protection barrier around him to stop himself from being injured if his car
crashed… smart idea.
He was still personally trying to figure out why his air bags hadn’t worked,
but gave up on thinking about that, seeing as the incident was now over and if
the air bags decided to show their white little faces, it was well and truly
too late.
Harry walked back towards the two cars, his eyes doing a sweep of the close
to nil traffic that passed them slowly, eyes trained over the wreckage before
slowly continuing their way towards work or what not.
Draco also watched the traffic, not at all amused with the idea of being
gawked at. People were too nosey for their own good,
at least that’s what he believed.
Approaching his car, the blonde man looked over the bonnet and cringed at
the bent metal. He was actually finding his deal with Potter more and more
appealing each time he looked at the two cars, that bill would definitely be a
long digit, and then there would be the repairs to his own car… to just spend
one dinner with Potter talking about life was a bargain in his opinion.
He turned his attention back to Potter, interested to see how the man would
do this without giving a heart attack to the passing muggles.
As he watched the man, he was once again reminded of why it was he developed
a crush for the brunette in the first place… there was just some kind of aura
around him that seemed to attract his attention. There was something about
Harry that seemed to make him look twice, that made him want to study the way
he worked and moved… at first he thought he had become obsessed, but after time
he knew it was a stupid crush, one he was feeling he could live without.
Harry turned back to him with a small smile, “Would you like me to repair
your car as well?” he asked, bringing Draco momentarily out of his thoughts and
notice that there was now an undamaged BMW parked in front of him.
It was really a nice car, and it made the blonde very self conscious of his
own vehicle, but he still liked it… his little Kia had helped him through a lot
of tough spots and gotten him to places… so he settled with the idea that his
car had personality, it didn’t need the rich looks.
But pulling back from the car comparisons,
Draco glared to the brunette ex-Gryffindor and crossed his arms over his chest.
“I can do a repairing charm Potter, they aren’t that hard” he snapped.
Chuckling, Harry shrugged and then approached the blonde, stopping a few
feet away and holding out a piece of paper and a pen.
Looking to the blank paper and then the pen, the blonde raised a brow and then
looked back to sparkling green eyes, “What?” he asked.
“I need your address and number if I’m going to pick you up and take you out
to dinner” the man stated, a small smirk tugging on his lips as he watched the
blonde in amusement.
“What?! Potter, I’m capable of driving” Draco
defended.
With a small glance towards the still wrecked Kia, that didn’t go unnoticed
by the ex-Slytherin, Harry nodded, “I’m sure you are, but this is one of my
conditions, I pick you up” the brunette stated.
Glaring and seeing that there was no
argument unless he wanted to pay the hefty bill, Draco snatched the pen from
the man's hand and scribbled his number and address onto the paper before
shoving them back at the still smirking ex-Gryffindor.
“Fine Potter, I hope you’re fans know how much of an asshole you are,
blackmail doesn’t suit you” he snapped, glaring back to the man that only bowed
his head in reply, obviously holding back a chuckle – that didn’t help the
blonde's mood in the least.
“I’ll make a note to tell the Daily Prophet” Harry stated as he folded the
paper up and placed it in his jacket pocket, “I’ll see you at seven thirty
Malfoy” he said as he turned and waved over his shoulder.
Draco watched with a glare as the man climbed back into his car and easily
started his engine, within moments he watched the brunette drive passed him
down the road and out of sight.
He knew he should have slept through the day. As soon as he had gotten that
ticket he knew he should have stayed home and slept… but no, he had to continue
his day thinking things would improve… Though he did enjoy seeing the handsome
Wizarding hero after six years, it wasn’t an improvement, because now he had to
put up with the man's insanity.
oOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
Draco, currently, was glaring at his wardrobe.
No, he wasn’t trying to impress the man… the same man that he had a crush on
for a year or more in Hogwarts and apparently still found dreamy and desirable…
but he wasn’t about to go dressed like a dag.
There were so many outfits that seemed either too classy or not good enough.
He sometimes found that he had trouble choosing outfits for different venues,
but this almost seemed to be the most difficult decision he’d made for a while.
He also seemed to be spending just that more (of a noticeable not really
needed) time in front of the wardrobe. This noticeable point made him
frown in disapproval.
Finally he decided on the blue stonewashed butt hugging hipster jeans and
the dusty blue long sleeve shirt. The outfit was tight in the right places, and
lose in the right places. It showed his slight figure, and left some up to the
imagination.
With his outfit now chosen, the blonde showered and dressed, drying his hair
by running the towel through it, making it look wind tussled.
Finally, pleased with his appearance and even more pleased that he didn’t
look like he was overdressing to impress, more that he was dressing in his
comfort zone, he nodded to his mirror and headed towards the lounge room, it
was seven o’clock, giving him half an hour to try and rid himself of his nerves
and remind himself that Potter had escaped from a mental clinic.
He actually found it odd that out of all the things he was expecting out of
the day, Potter entering it and taking him out to dinner was not one of them.
It was all confusing. Harry hated him, or at least he had… all during the war
he acted like he didn’t exist. Once the war was over, and Draco felt that he
had done his part, he left. Not once had Potter approached him and flirted with
him. Neither had he ever asked him to dinner.
So what ever was bringing this behaviour change from the man was definitely
something unexpected and totally new.
Harry was one of the first boys that Draco had developed a crush on, though
he tried to push the thought of being attracted aside, he could never deny that
he wasn’t attracted to the powerful Gryffindor.
Harry simply had this appeal about him.
There was just something there that made Draco notice him and want to be noticed
in return… and no mater how hard he tried he was never noticed in the same
light that he noticed the brunette Gryffindor.
But now, here he was, at age twenty three and going to dinner with Harry
Potter!
When he had left the wizarding world, when he had abandoned his family, he
had kept away from all things that represent the world he had been brought up
in. He never read the news so he never got an update on what Harry was doing.
He always expected the man to be married, heaps of kids and settled down
somewhere… but he had noticed that the ex-Gryffindors ring finger had been
bare…
Draco made his way into the kitchen, in the background the music played,
keeping that long and eerie silence away. He had lived by himself for most of
his life in the muggle world, even when he dated he lived by himself. No
relationships were serious enough to actually consider the idea of moving in
with the other.
Making himself a cup of orange juice, Draco paced barefoot around the house,
just not feeling in the mood to keep in one place for a long period of time.
After ten minutes of wandering around doing nothing, the blonde went back to
the kitchen to dispose himself of the now empty cup. It wasn’t long after that
that he heard a knock at his door, the sound that made his heart skip and his
eyes to flicker to the cloak.
It was fifteen past seven…
Slowly he made his way towards the entry, opening the wooden door and
flicking the porch light on as he did.
Harry’s features were illuminated as the light shone down on him, making his
green eyes reflect it with a brilliant sparkle.
He noticed that Harry was also wearing casual clothes, this including dark
blue, almost black, tight jeans and a form fitting forest green shirt. The
ex-Gryffindors eyes – Draco noticed – was busy sweeping over his own form, and
when they had finished and met his eyes once again, the brunette grinned. “Hey”
he said.
Draco nodded his head as he opened the flyscreen.
Harry smiled his thanks as he was let into the house, and followed Draco
into the lounge room. He began to scan his surroundings, taking in everything.
“I have to get shoes on, so wait here” the blonde stated, causing the green
eyes to flash to his feet, though he didn’t see much since the jeans half
covered them.
“Sure, take your time” Harry stated, smiling reassuringly.
With a suspicious look toward the brunette,
Draco turned and walked back down the hall, towards his bedroom to find his
black joggers that were waiting for him at the end of the bed, as well as
socks.
He didn’t really know what to expect out of Potter on this ‘date’. He was
actually expecting Weasley to jump out with a camera and scream ‘Surprise’, and
then show the picture of a shocked Draco dining with Harry Potter to all in the
wizarding world, along with a story on how Harry got him on the date and
embarrassed him into thinking that there was a chance between them and that he
was actually dared to make the blonde think that he liked him.
Oh, that didn’t go down well with Draco’s thoughts, and it made him glance
warily around the room, expecting to hear giggling. When he heard nothing of
the sort, Draco slowly made his way out of the room, his shoes on and his
wallet in his back pocket.
He walked back into the lounge room and found the brunette looking at his bookshelf
where a few books, nick-knacks and photos sat. It seemed that he was taking
particular interest in the photo he got for his birthday two months ago, one
that was given to him by Josephine’s brother.
It was a picture of Draco sitting on a picnic blanket with Josephine leaning
back in his lap smiling beautifully at the camera, she had her fingers threaded
with his and it really looked like a loving photo, it’s a pity that when Draco
looked at it, all he saw was a two-faced bitch. There was no doubt in his mind
that that picture was going to be in the bin by tomorrow.
Harry turned back around and smiled at Draco, his hands in his pockets, he
nodded his head in the direction of the picture “Girlfriend?” he asked.
Sneering, Draco shook his head; “Ex” was all he said as he walked past the
brunette and grabbed keys, behind him Harry grinned.
oOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
“Okay, where are you taking me?” The blonde finally demanded after a while
of watching the passing scenery.
Both Harry and Draco were sitting in the now unharmed BMW, making their way
through the darkened streets.
The brunette spared the ex-Slytherin a glance before he turned back to the
road, a small amused smirk on his face. “You make it sound like I’ve kidnapped
you” he stated, chuckling lightly.
“Haven’t you?” The blonde questioned, raising a brow at the chuckling man.
“No, you’re here on your own free will” Harry said as he dug into a pocket
and pulled out a small mobile phone.
“It’s dangerous to talk on a mobile while driving” the blonde stated
quietly, Harry only spared him a small glance of amusement before he turned his
multiple attentions to both the phone and road.
Draco frowned as he watched the brunette press a button and then held the
phone to his ear.
“Hi Youla… Yes, about a minute… that’s great,
thank you for this… I will… thank you, see you then” and then he hung up,
resting the expensive looking mobile on the dash board.
Rather then asking what that was about, Draco turned and looked out the
window, his eyes not focusing on anything in particular.
“How do you feel about Chinese food?” Harry asked suddenly as the car turned
into a small parking lot.
Turning back to the brunette, Draco frowned before shrugging, “I haven’t had
it for a while… I like it, if that’s what you’re asking” he stated, studying
the ex-Gryffindor closely.
Harry gave him a toothy grin before he turned to the open window beside him,
and to Draco’s surprise he found a man standing there, holding a tray of Chinese food on it.
The tray was passed through the window. Smiling to the man, Harry thanked him
and handed over some money before waving and pulling out of the parking lot.
Draco, who was still trying to catch up to what was
going on, looked down to the Chinese food before he looked up, his eyes trying
to find clues from the brunette beside him as to what was going on.
The rest of the ride in the car passed in silence, except for the radio
playing in the background. Harry drove up a steep hill, down a small dirt path and out into a grassy clearing. This was
where he parked the car, turning the engine off at the same time.
Draco looked out the window, his gaze taking in their surroundings. They
were parked near the edge of the tree line, a large grass clearing on the other
side where it seemed to suddenly drop, revealing that there was a cliff that
ran down into the large dark ocean.
“You’re planning on killing me and throwing my body over the cliff?” Draco
questioned as he climbed out of the car to get a better look at his
surroundings. His only answer was a chuckle from the dark brunette as he also
climbed out of the car, the tray in hand
Rolling his eyes at the other's amusement, Draco walked forward, observing
the water that crashed against the cliff side below him. It was at least a thirty
meter drop, a perfect place to dump a body.
“Now don’t go spoiling my plans by jumping” Harry chuckled, as he came to a
stop near the ex-Slytherin, looking over his shoulder to the crashing water.
Draco’s head snapped around, his wide eyes landing on the sly grinning
Potter that stood close behind him, he was about to ask why the brunette needed
to stand so close to him, but when a hand rested on his hip he could only stare
back at the ex-Gryffindor with shocked eyes.
Now he knew he was going to be murdered and thrown over the edge of the
cliff.
“The foods set-up, come on” the brunette stated, nodding his head in the
direction behind them, indicating for the man to follow him.
And with the knowledge that he was going to
be fattened up before he was to be killed, Draco allowed himself to turn his
back to his future resting grounds, a hand on his waist, guiding him – it was
there to make sure he didn’t run away.
Finding that the food had been set out on a large maroon blanket, Draco
slowly lowered himself onto it, his eyes warily watching the brunette as he sat
near him.
Harry pulled some food onto a plate and looked up to the wary silver eyes,
“What?” He asked, his brows rose in curiosity.
“What are you playing at, Potter?” Draco said, narrowing his silver gaze on
the man.
With a roll of his eyes, Harry picked up a cup and poured some coke into it.
“I’m not playing anything” He said, looking wholeheartedly truthful,
something that threw the blonde off guard for a millisecond.
Narrowing his eyes further, the blonde decided to play along with the
innocent act, and turned his concentration to the food that was laid out in
front of him.
He knew that something was definitely up, and whatever it was, he was
determined to find out. “Okay Potter, then tell me why you asked to take me to
dinner of all things?” he asked after some time.
Harry looked up from the food. “I invited you out to dinner, so that we
could talk, and dinner seemed like a nice thing to do while we talk” he said,
giving a small smile before he turned his attention back to the food.
With a sigh, Draco leaned back on his elbows, stretching his legs out on the
grass in front of him; idly with one hand he played with the wooden chopsticks,
clicking them together. “And what is it you want to talk about?” he asked.
“Hm, the usual. What you’ve gotten up to in the
past six years… nothing too deep” Harry stated with a shrug, keeping most of
his attention to his food and away from the stretched out male near him.
Casting a wary glance to the man and seeing that he might as well say his
last words before he got murdered, he shrugged a shoulder as he played with a
prawn with his chopsticks. “And what kind of answers are you expecting from me
before you attempt murder?” he asked, glancing up to the man.
Rolling his eyes, Harry swallowed his food before settling his gaze on the
blonde near him. “I don’t know where you got the idea that I’m trying to murder
you, because I’m not. I truly just want to catch up Draco, nothing more” the
man stated, looking honest as can be.
Draco wasn’t about to allow himself to fall for it as he narrowed his eyes,
“Am I meant to believe that you’re just interested in the past six years I’ve
lived through? That you’re not insane and want to throw me off a cliff?” he asked
in disbelief.
“Exactly, we’re getting the same programme now” The brunette stated with a
smile.
Scoffing, Draco ate some rice. “Yeah right… I’ll just sign my will now
then.”
Once again the ex-Gryffindor rolled his eyes. “You really are a dramatic one,
you know that, right?”
Now frowning, Draco placed the plate back on the ground and turned his
attention to the man in front of him. “Well sorry, but if I remember correctly,
you never really showed that much of an interest in me back in school. In fact
I can remember multiple times where you wished I didn’t exist. I’m sorry that
I’m finding it difficult to believe that you just brought me here to chat” the
man stated, folding his arms over his chest as he sat cross-legged.
Sighing and putting his own plate down, Harry ran a hand through his hair,
his gaze on the grass beside him before he turned it to lock with burning
silver. “Listen Draco, I know that we were never really… chummy at school and
all, but I am telling the truth. Believe it or not, I was interested in talking
to you back in school… you just made it difficult with all the ‘fuck off
Potter's" the brunette stated before sighing again when Draco opened his
mouth, ready to spit back a retort.
“Potter, I have no idea why I even said yes to this ‘dinner’ thing, I think
I would have been better off paying the damn bill” the man almost yelled as he
stood up and walked away, his feet taking him back to the edge of the cliff.
For a while he just gazed out over the rough water, he could hear Harry approaching
him and narrowed his eyes as he heard the man clear his throat.
“Listen, I’m sorry… I’m sorry for the way I behaved back then. I was young
and a lot was happening that was making me confused and… well scared” he
admitted.
Frowning Draco looked over his shoulder to see the green eyes looking back
at him pleadingly.
“Can we just try to have a civil conversation?” the brunette asked.
Even Draco was unable to stay stubborn to the pleading look he was being
delivered. So, with a sigh, the man turned around and studied the brunette's
face before shrugging, “Fine” was all he said.
Smiling back at him, Harry nodded and turned back to the picnic and walked
back with Draco close behind him.
Once the two settled down and continued eating for a short time, Harry spoke
up again.
“So can I ask what you’ve been doing with yourself for the pass six years?”
he asked, giving a curious look to the blonde.
Shrugging, Draco prodded a prawn across the plate “Nothing much… I’ve lived
in the same house for six years. For a while I had trouble trying to fit in as
a muggle. I got a job at an art museum, but I’m thinking about quitting. That’s really about it” he stated as
he glanced up to the brunette on the other side.
“You had a girlfriend… what was she like?” Harry asked curiously as he
picked up some food with the chopsticks.
Frowning Draco glared down at his food. “She was nice enough I guess… We
dated for about three months before I broke up with her” he stated once again
the memory of his current bankrupt situation.
“I broke up with my last girlfriend about eight months ago… wasn’t a very
stable relationship to begin with though” Harry informed as a small frown
marred his face.
Looking up, the blonde ex-Slytherin studied the man in front of him before
turning away and studying his food, having nothing to reply with.
For a while the two sat in silence, both eating their dinner.
Finally Draco placed his eaten meal to the side and stretched out his legs
on the grass. “So as far as it goes with life, what have you been doing for the
past six years?” the man asked, trying not to look interested.
Harry paused in his eating’s, his head cocked to the side as the chopsticks
that he held in his hands tapped together in the rhythm of his thinking. “Hm,
well I own an international organisation and have for the past five years, I
live in a penthouse just outside London
and I’ve lived there for about three years… Hm, what else?” he spoke aloud as
he frowned, his mind piecing together his six years of adventure in the adult
world.
For a while Harry frowned as he tried to find more highlights, but then with
a shrug he plopped some food in his mouth, “Can’t think of anything else” he
said once he swallowed.
“What kind of stuff do you sell in your company… or what do you do?” the
blonde asked.
Harry grinned, “My company works in trade. We mainly deal with the muggle
world, but on a few occasions we do dealings with the Wizarding world” the man
said as he flicked his fringe from his eyes.
Raising a brow, the blonde ex-Slytherin scoffed, “The way you put it, it
sounds like you’re in the black market” he said.
Chuckling Harry shook his head, “Nah, don’t do any sort of dealings with
them… We have been offered though” he said as an after thought before shrugging
it off and continuing to eat.
Draco rolled his eyes as he turned his attention away from the man in front
of him and instead leaned back on the blanket, his head tilted back so he could
see the full moon that shone above him.
“What did you mean when you said that you were interested in talking to me
back in school? You never seemed interested in talking” Draco asked as he
looked over to the brunette.
Harry glanced at him, studying him for a while before he smiled softly. “Exactly what I said. I was interested in talking to you; I
wanted to get to know you. I was just too nervous to actually do it. A few
other things were complicating it too” he said, scratching the back of his neck
nervously.
Raising a brow, Draco cocked his head to the side, “What kind of things?” he
asked.
For a while Harry didn’t answer, Draco was about to repeat his question when
the brunette gave a light shrug and pushed himself back onto the ground, lacing
his fingers over his stomach. “Just things” he said as he looked up to the sky,
“I had a lot going through my mind… not just things about the war, other
things. I can’t really explain it, but to put it all down clearly, I was too
scared to approach you” he said as he glanced to the shocked blonde.
“Scared to approach me?” Looking back at the man in shock, Draco shook his
head. “How can you be scared of me? Granted I wasn’t the easiest person to
approach back then… but…” Trailing off he looked over to the ex-Gryffindor.
Harry chuckled and shook his head, “It’s really difficult to explain, but I
promise you I will explain some day” he said.
Raising a brow Draco looked up to the stars. Was Harry planning on keeping
in contact with him? If he was going to tell him something some day then
wouldn’t that mean they’d have to keep in contact? “You make it sound like
there are going to be more run ins” he said, not
daring to look to the man.
There was a chuckle as Harry nodded. “I thought you’d pick that up. If you
don’t mind, I’d like for us to keep in contact, get to know each other more. ” he said.
For a few minutes the two lay in silence. Draco gazed
at the sky, his brain full of thoughts. Harry wanted to keep in contact
with him… so was there a chance? Frowning he shook his head. He was getting too
far ahead of himself.
“Do you need to get back home by a certain time?” the ex-Gryffindor suddenly
asked as he sat up, stretching his arms above his head, glancing to his wrist
watch as he did.
Looking over to the man, the blonde shook his head before his attention
settled on Harry’s wrist, “Why? What time is it?” he asked.
“It’s only nine. So do you want to go do something else?” the brunette asked
curiously as he once again pushed himself back on the ground, laying flat on
his back, his fingers lacing together and resting on his stomach as he looked
up at the moon.
Shrugging Draco gave another glance to the man, “Like what?”
“I don’t know…” the brunette said. For a while they sat in silence, Draco
waiting for the other man to come up with a place to go. “Have you ever gone
clubbing?” the ex-Gryffindor suddenly questioned as he pushed himself up, his
eyes glittering with excitement.
For a while the blonde watched the man curiously. “Yeah… once or twice a
year” he now said warily, watching the other closely. “Why? Do you want to go
clubbing?”
Nodding Harry pulled out his wand, “Yeah… Do you want to come?” he
questioned as he gave his wand a wave and watched as the plates hovered above
the ground and began to stack themselves back on the tray which then vanished
with a small pop.
With a small frown Draco tossed around the idea of going clubbing, he wasn’t
too fond of it, mainly because he knew if he went clubbing he’d probably have
to watch the taller man get swarmed by girls and guys, but then again he could
do with a good drink, and if Potter was willing to pay, Draco was willing to
go.
“Fine Potter, but seeing as this is your idea, you’re paying” he stated as
he stood and brushed his jeans and shirt.
Harry also stood and brushed down his clothes and then gave the wand another
flick towards the blanket which then began to fold itself up and fly over to
the car. “Fine by me” he said with a grin.
Not knowing if he had just made his day that much worse, Draco gave a wary
nod and followed the brunette back to the car. The last thing he wanted was to
have his day get worse, the only thing that helped ease his mind was that he
could get as drunk as he wanted so then he wouldn’t have to remember anything.
oOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
Within twenty minutes of driving down different roads and talking about
nothing too important, Harry pulled into a car park and turned off the car.
“Okay then, there’s a good club just up the road” he said as he climbed out of
the car, Draco following suit. “I’ve been going there for a while so I’m pretty
sure we can get in cheap” he said, throwing a grin to the blonde that was now
walking beside him.
“Yey” Draco muttered sarcastically as he buried
his hands into his pockets. He wasn’t sure if agreeing to go clubbing with
Potter was such a good idea any more. Harry was a very handsome man, and with
the outfit he was wearing, they would only have to step through the doorway before the man would be attacked by
interested singles.
He didn’t know if he wanted to watch people hanging off the brunette. The
last thing he wanted was to watch people drooling over the man. It wasn’t that
he was jealous, he just didn’t like the idea of
agreeing to go clubbing with the brunette only to watch him being swarmed by
giggling girls.
He could remember how much it made him sick to watch the boy back in Hogwarts
when he had been dating Ginny for those few months. He had hated it. Watching
them talking quietly to each other. Walking around the corner of a corridor
just to come to see the girl pinned to the wall with the brunette male kissing
her deeply. It was true that with the help of seeing the ex-Gryffindor date
girls it made him realise that there was a reason behind his angry bursts and
jealous snarls… he had hated seeing the brunette being touched by another.
He hated it! He hated the way he reacted and he was absolutely sure that he
had made a fool of himself more then once in front of the brunette, but he
couldn’t help but feel the jealousy rise in him when he saw him, and he
couldn’t help feeling forgotten when he watched Potter smile and hold his lady
protectively.
He didn’t know how he managed to get through it. But he had managed it and
now he was going to have to once again put himself to the test and try to keep
a cool head as he watched the brunette be attacked by single dancers.
“Let’s get into more comfortable clothes” Harry said as he grabbed the
blonde’s wrist and tugged him into an ally.
Frowning Draco looked down at himself, “But I didn’t bring any clothes with
me” he stated, once again looking up at the brunette who, to his discomfort was
looking amused back at him. “What? I haven’t” he defended as he glared to the
man.
Chuckling and shaking his head, the brunette pulled his wand out of his
pocket, “Are you sure you haven’t forgotten your heritage?” he asked as he
raised the wand over the blonde's head, making him duck and eye the wand above
him warily.
“Just relax.” The brunette said as he did a complicated swish of his wrist.
The next thing Draco knew, his clothing was morphing and pulling tight on his
body.
He looked down at himself and watched in shock as his shirt slowly turned
into another. It shrunk in size making about ten centimetres of his stomach
show. The sleeves of his shirt shrank and also changed, soon the sleeves were
in strips, one thick one that went over his shoulders like a normal singlet and
smaller pieces that slipped off his shoulder and just hung in a U down his arm,
stopping near his elbows, the shirt stayed the same colour though. His jeans
also morphed, they became tighter around his waist and arse, they slowly
changed to leather instead of denom and changed to
dark silver with a light silver belt appearing, much like his shirt sleeves,
the chains hung from either side of his left hip, five of them creating their
own depth of a U.
With his arms wide out he looked down at himself, taking in the dramatic
change from what he had been wearing.
“P-Potter” he stumered, as looked up, and to his shock he found Harry
looking back at him with a small amused smile, his own attire completely morphed
as well.
Instead of his earlier attire Harry wore black leather pants that rode low
on his hips and a black shirt that stopped just above his pants, allowing a
small amount of his skin to show, yet not as much as Draco. His sleeves were
long reaching just past his wrists; rips ran up the outside of his arms,
showing his strong biceps before the rips stopped just near his shoulder. He
also wore a loose black belt, one that looked plaited
before about eight cords just dangled down at different heights, the
longest reaching his knee. His leather pants also seemed to have small slits up
the outer side of them, stopping halfway between his knee and ankle.
“Better?” the man asked before tucking his wand away from sight. For a while
Draco was just in shock, he was wearing very unusual clothes, and he was also
starting to notice just how much of his body was no longer left for the
imagination, it was all indeed very well fitted so anyone looking wouldn’t have
to try and imagine.
Blushing he quickly wrapped his arms around his mid
section, glaring at the man when he dared to laugh.
“Come on then, let’s go” Harry said as he shook his head and began walking,
Draco close beside him, still feeling very much on show.
“Here it is” Harry said suddenly, making the man stop short and look to
where Harry was pointing, as soon as he saw the club's exterior his mouth fell
open and his eyes widened.
“A-a gay bar!?” he cried as he turned to the chuckling man beside him.
“Potter… th-this is a gay bar” he stammered once again looking back to
the club in front of him.
It was dark, almost impossible to notice, but Draco could see a small group
of males wearing fishing net shirts and leather pants hanging over each other
as they walked past the large dark bounty… No wonder he was wearing odd attire.
Harry once again chuckled and rested a hand on the blondes shoulder. “Yep. Is it okay with you?” he asked, looking down amused at
the still shocked ex-Slytherin.
“O-okay? I – Yes, I guess it is” Draco slowly said
as he looked back towards the darkened doorway where
a large man stood guard. He had never been to a gay bar before. He was
too nervous to go, plus he had no one to go to a gay bar with… he would rather
go with some friends than go in alone.
But why would Potter want to go to a gay bar? Why would he want to take him
to a gay bar?
“Okay then, lets go” Harry said as he dropped his hand from the blondes
shoulder and walked forward. Draco walked close beside him warily, feeling
nervous as he approached the man.
“Harry?” the bounty asked in a deep and husky voice as he squinted down at
both Harry and Draco.
The brunette gave a bright smile and a wave, ‘”Yep” he said as he came to a
stop in front of the tall man.
For a while the man studied him, as if trying to make sure it really was
Harry before he smiled, “Haven’t seen you for a while” he said before his brown
eyes moved over to the blonde, “And who have we got here?” he asked, his eyes
looking over the blonde's body, making Draco shift uncomfortably, his arms
hugging his mid-section tighter, trying to hide the small patch of stomach that
showed.
“This is Draco” Harry introduced, giving the blonde an amused smile as he
glared back.
The bounty grinned and once again looked over to the blonde, “Well then,
have fun” he said as he stood aside.
Draco was quick to pass the man, feeling the eyes still on him as he did.
“Potter, why did you change my clothes to be so… showing?” he hissed as he
walked close beside the teen, keeping his arms tight around his mid-section,
trying to hide it from any more prying eyes.
Glancing down to him, Harry smiled “Because it suits you. Don’t worry about
it. Look if you feel uncomfortable I’ll lend you my jacket” the man said as he
once again chuckled. Draco was about to reply, telling the brunette that he no
longer had a jacket, but his voice was drowned out by loud pumping music.
Looking up he saw the room he was approaching was large, almost as large as
the Great Hall back in Hogwarts, there was a long bar filling one side of the
room and there were a lot of chairs and tables in front of it before they died
out and a dance floor appeared, filled with moving bodies. There were colourful
lights being thrown around the room as well, making the place look very fun and
lively.
He was still looking at the room in front of him when he jumped at someone’s
hand slipping onto his waist. He glanced to his right and saw Harry leaning
towards him, and automatically he leaned back.
“Lets get a drink” The brunette yelled as soon as
he was closer to the blonde. A small smile dancing on his lips as Draco was
sure he watched the blush appearing on his pale cheeks. These were the times
that the blonde hated his pale completion. Blushes were just too obvious. But
to cover it up he glared at the brunette and nodded. Harry’s hand stayed on his
hip, guiding him over towards the bar, pushing through the crowd.
Looking around, Draco noticed a lot of spectators. It made him inch just a
little closer to Harry as he passed one male that had his hair gelled back into
a hedgehog style, his eyes seeming to look at him
hungrily.
He wasn’t sure if he was going to be too fond
of this gay bar. He didn’t like the way he was being eyed, he also didn’t like
the way people were eyeing the man beside him. Normally the places he went to
were rather tame. People would nod and some would approach you offering to buy
you a drink or ask you to dance… but this place seemed so different.
Reaching the bar where the blonde found the music dimmer, Harry looked back
to him and dropped his hold of his waist. “Want anything in particular?” he
asked as the waiter approached them.
Draco glanced to the small menu that hovered over the till. There were a lot
of… odd names, there was a drink called a ‘Blowjob’ and there was another
called ‘Wank’ he wasn’t sure if he wanted to turn to Harry and ask for a
Blowjob, so instead he just shrugged, “If they have coke and scotch I’ll take
it” he said as he turned back to Harry who nodded.
The brunette turned to the man behind the counter and smiled charmingly, “One
scotch and coke and a Blowjob, without the ice” he said smirking slightly when
the man – who Draco could now read his tag as ‘John, Trainee’ – blushed and
nodded.
As soon as they got their drinks, the ex-Gryffindor headed towards an empty
table, the blonde close beside them. They ended up seated
in one of the corners where the music seemed the most quite.
Sitting down on the tall stools at the round table, the blonde sipped on his
drink and warily eyeing what he saw in front of him .
“Don’t look so worried” Harry suddenly said laughing as he sipped his drink.
Turning his attention towards the brunette, Draco raised a brow. “Half these
people are looking at me like I’m some kind of dessert coming early. I have all
the right in the world to look worried” the blonde stated as he once again
looked back to the large crowded room in front of him.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw the brunette chuckle and shake his head. It didn’t suit him in the least. Harry was
probably used to having so many people look at him as if he were dinner, but
personally Draco hated it. Sure it wasn’t so bad when he was at school, knowing
there was at least eight girls in Ravenclaw in fifth
grade that eyed him up constantly as if he was early homework. That was
something to go to your friends about. But he was older now, he was around
older people… people that could take those few steps and approach him, and for
some reason that made him that little more nervous.
He didn’t know if coming to this bar was such a good idea, and he was
starting to think that he was just destined to have a horrible day today,
Potter included. Maybe he’d find out later in the night that this really wasn’t
Potter. It is really some other freak pretending to be him, like the Weasel
using Polly potion, and later he’ll reveal himself and laugh his head off.
Merlin, what was he meant to do if that were the case?
Draco scanned his surroundings, taking in the close dancing that was
happening up on the floor… people looked like they were literally on top of each
other. There were two girls dancing permanently connected at the hips and a few
pairs of guys that looked both attached at the hips and lips.
He continued to scan the room, taking in the close dancing and the open
relationships. He wasn’t sure if he had ever seen so many gay people in the one
room before. It was exciting to see that he wasn’t the only one, but at the
same time it was freaky. Especially with the way that those
three men near the bar were eyeing him up.
Quickly looking away when he saw the tall brown haired man wink at him,
Draco turned his attention back to the brunette near him who in return was
looking back at him with a raised brow.
It took him a few moments to realise that the ex-Gryffindor had asked him
something, mainly because a small smile was tugging on the corners of the
brunette’s lips.
“What?” Draco asked with a frown.
Harry smiled and shook his head, “I was asking if you wanted to dance” the
brunette replied, smiling again. Draco did a
second take on him, his brows raising and his straw
dropping from his lips. A small cough followed as he choked on the liquid.
“D-dance?” he asked as he cleared his throat and pushed his drink away. He carefully studied the man in front of him,
trying to spot some red hair and a large splash of freckles in the crowd. He
was sure this was some kind of trap to humiliate him. Potter must have found
out about his crush on him, that must be why he suddenly barged into his life
and started to act like he was actually interested. Harry was never interested
in him before, why after all these years had he suddenly reappeared, wanting to
get to know him?
This was some kind of trick. Potter wouldn’t normally nor
willingly want to dance with him. Once again he gave a nervous sweep of the
room, searching for red hair and freckles.
“Yes, dancing” Harry replied with a chuckle as he pushed his drink away and
slipped off the seat. With his eyes locked on the nervous blonde in front of
him he raised a brow, “So do you want to come dancing or not?”
Draco quickly shook his head as he tried to think of what Harry’s scheme
was. He was trying to think of what the ex-Gryffindor had concocted to get his
humiliation drowned mud. “No… I’ll stay here, if you don’t mind” he said as his
fingers curled tightly around his cup.
For a split second disappointment flashed over the brunettes features, plain
enough for Draco to blink in surprise and wonder if there really was a scheme
behind this night, but as soon as he saw the emotion he had vanished and was
replaced by a small smile and a nod as Harry ran his hands back through his
hair to push his fringe away. “Right… well I’ll be out there if you need me”
for a while he seemed to hesitate, his green eyes looking back to the blonde
carefully. “You’re not going to sneak off or anything… are you?” he asked.
Rolling his eyes, the blonde shook his head. “No Potter, I won’t run off. I
just don’t feel up to dancing at the moment… I’ll join you later” he replied,
feeling a little more confident that this night had no strings.
Looking a little better, the ex-Gryffindor nodded and vanished into the
thick crowd of moving bodies.
For a while Draco felt lost, he was at a small table, alone with nothing but
an empty cup. He searched the head tops, trying to see if he could spot his
host of the night, but it seemed that as soon as Potter took that first step
away from the table he had been swallowed by the swarm of bodies.
Nervously he played with the ice at the bottom of his cup, watching it
non-fascinated. He didn’t know what to think anymore. Potter didn’t seem to be
trying to trick him of make him look like a fool… he was doing all that on his
own. Potter seemed to be genuine in his want to get to know him, he seemed to
want nothing more then to spend the night with him and talk and just have a
good time. And here he is, worrying about invisible people tapping him. But in
all respects he had the perfect excuse to worry, Potter’s meant to hate him, to
loath him with a passion, not want to dance and buy him dinner.
Sighing, the blonde pushed his cup away and folding his arms over the table
top he rested his forehead in them, his eyes closing. He didn’t know what to
think. He knows what he wants to believe. He wants to believe that Potter likes
him and is willing to spend a few more days and months or years even to get to
know him and possibly step a little higher.
But he wasn’t so sure if he wanted to get his hopes up,
after all it is meant to be his worse day. He was meant to be fearing the worse and expecting nothing but the worse. He wasn’t
meant to have anything good happened to him today.
“Want some company?” A deep husky voice brought the small blonde out of his
thoughts, making his head snap up and for his eyes to land on a tall brown
haired man standing next to him.
Blinking he slowly shook his head, his gaze still locked up at the man
standing near him, smiling charmingly and looking like he was about to sit down
and chat then take note of the blondes shake of the head.
“The names Chad”
the brown haired man said, smiling as he held out his hand.
Automatically Draco placed his smaller hand in Chad’s and shook firmly. “Draco” he
said with a small nod.
Grinning widely, Chad
took the non existing invitation to sit down. “Nice to meet
you. I noticed you siting over here all alone… you’re boyfriend seems to
have abandoned you” he said very obviously trying to see if he was single or
not by automatically jumping to the conclusion of Harry being his boyfriend and
looking at Draco, a strong look of hope over his features for a ‘Oh, no we’re
not dating, he’s just a friend’.
But instead Draco smiled, “He just went dancing, I don’t really feel like
it” he said, hoping that the man will pick up and leave.
Instead though, although looking thoroughly disappointed, Chad smiled weekly. “So how long
you two been dating?” he asked.
Narrowing his eyes slightly, Draco gave a stiff shrug, “A while, but if you
don’t mind, I have to go find him, I want to get home soon” he said as he
pushed himself off the seat and made his way around the table.
He didn’t like the brown haired man, nor did he like the way the man jumped
to conclusions about who was dating and who wasn’t. Draco wasn’t dumb enough to
say he was single, especially with the way that man had been eyeing him. He’d
rather say he was in a strong relationship with Harry Potter then do so… in
fact saying he was Harry’s boyfriend brought butterflies to his stomach and a
light feeling to his head.
Pushing his way past grinding bodies and deeper into the moving pit of
flesh, Draco scanned around the room, searching for that familiar head of
blackish hair and green eyes. A few times he had though he had spotted the man,
but each time he found he was mistaken. He had never realised just how many
people have brunette hair, it was driving him made, in a way he was ready to
give the ex-Gryffindor a good lecture about abandoning him where a complete
stranger can try and pick him up, but then he had to stop himself and just
glare knowing that his lecture would just serve to amuse the man.
Pushing past people and trying to avoid being touched too intimately by the
near by dancers, Draco grew more and more frantic, especially when he was
grabbed around the waist for the fifth time.
Shooting a warning glare over his shoulder to the young male that had dared
to touch him while he was hunting to kill, Draco was granted with a quick
release in a panicked apology before the young man turned and vanished into the
crowd.
Looking back after the next vanished man, Draco sighed. His hunt wasn’t
going well, and he wasn’t sure how long he had been hunting, it seemed like
hours but he knew it wasn’t that long. He once again picked up his search,
trying to think where the brunette would be if he were him.
He had hopped that the ex-Gryffindor had stuck close to the edge of the
dance floor so that he could grab him easily and demand to be taken out of
here, but the man wasn’t anywhere, and Draco was starting to wonder whether he
had been dumped in here and Potter had left thinking he was too boring to waist
his time on. That thought didn’t help with his already Potter doubting mind.
Reaching what he believed to be the middle of the dance floor, the blonde
pushed his way passed three dancing males and found his small spot of floor to
stand in and scan. His eyes moved over grinding half naked males and females.
He saw people that he swore where near ecstasy.
Suppressing a shiver from running up his spine when he felt hands on his
waist for the seventh time now, Draco looked over his shoulder, glare set. When
his eyes met green that belonged to none other then a highly amused and
sweating Harry Potter, it only caused to make him narrow his eyes further and
pull back from the touch.
“Where the hell did you run off to?” he snapped, trying to talk over the loud
pumping music.
It vaguely occurred to him that he sounded like a mother that had just found
her child after half an hours searching, that or a wife that had stayed up late
waiting for her husbands arrival. But he was no where near caring.
Black brows raised and a small amused grin tugged on the man’ lips as he
looked back to Draco. He moved forward, leaning in to the now startled blonde,
when there were mere inches between their noses. Harry locked eyes with Draco’s
wide and startled ones. “I told you, dancing” he said with a small smirk as
Draco blinked back at him, a dazed expression clouding his face.
He didn’t know what was coming over him. Harry was standing so close to him,
he could feel his body heat and he could even feel the warm breath grazing
across his face. He was close enough to see the thin sheen of sweat that
covered the mans skin and he was close enough to see
the bright sparkle in the green eyes. He had no idea what was coming over him,
all he knew was that his senses were being clouded, his head was feeling
lighter then a feather and his breath was erratic.
He probably looked like an idiot, standing there frozen like he had the full
binding spell on him, except his entire body seemed loose, not stiff and tight.
He was looking back at the green eyes that were so close to him, noticing the
pupils and the small sparks of lighter and darker green that mixed and matched
the perfect green that shone from a distance.
He hardly noticed the large warm hands slipping back onto his waist, but he
did notice the strong wave of heat that rushed through his body when the
brunette took that small step forward, bringing their chests to contact with
the other.
“Want to dance?” Harry asked in a low voice that for some reason Draco heard
with all clarity.
His voice helped bring the blonde out of his odd reaction. “I - ” Finding his throat closed and his vocabulary lost, the
blonde wet his lips and looked up to the soft green eyes. He was trying to form
a coherent thought, to speak some words that would make some sense and extend a
little further than a single ‘I’.
The question ‘Why?’ came to mind, as well as ‘What are you doing?’ and ‘I
don’t understand what’s happening’. He was even considering asking if the
brunette was leaning in closer or if that was just his imagination. He wasn’t
sure what to say or what to even do. It was like he had suddenly just hit a
blank spot. If he did have an idea, of what to
do or say he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to get his body to respond correctly.
He was truly finding one question more and more appealing though. The one
about whether or not the ex-Gryffindor was leaning in closer or not. He was
absolutely positive that Potter’s face was growing that much closer each
passing second that seemed like dragged out minutes.
He felt his breath completely catch in his throat when he felt something
lightly press against his lips. A small shiver run up his spine when he felt
calloused hands run over the smooth skin of his waist to his back.
He wasn’t sure what was happening. One second he felt something being
lightly pressed against his lips, then it was
gone, and the next thing he knew he was looking up into calculating and waiting
green eyes.
He wasn’t sure what had happened and what he was meant to do next. He was still in
a blank and all he seemed able to do was look up, shocked at the brunette in
front of him.
After a while Harry’s lips tugged upwards. “Well?” his voice penetrated
Draco’s mind, making the man realise he was in need of a breath, and with
releasing a shaky breath he took in a more needed and extra shaky sip of air.
He wasn’t sure. It seemed like things were suddenly becoming busy and noisy in
his mind, with the new breath of air being sucked into his lungs came the
flowing thoughts and realisations.
Harry had kissed him. Harry was holding him. Harry was looking at him. Harry
was waiting for a response to the kiss. Harry had kissed him!
“I – Wh – What was th – Why’d you do that?” he finally stuttered with a
croaky and shaky voice. His fingers seemed to want to reach up and touch his
lips, to see what was causing them to tingle, but he couldn’t bring himself to
move. All he could do was look up in confusion at the green eyes.
Licking his own lips, Harry seemed to study the blonde for a few minutes as
if trying to find his level ground before he answered. “Because I wanted to”
was his final answer, his voice filled with some uncertainty.
Draco once again took in a shaky breath. Suddenly it was like they were back
out on the grass where they had had dinner. It was so quiet. He couldn’t quite
catch up with himself but at the same time he
knew exactly what had happened and what was going on.
“B-but why?” he asked.
Giving a light shrug, his thumb unconsciously or not – Draco wasn’t sure – rubbed
back and forth on Draco’s waist. “Because I wanted to… It’s something I’ve
wanted to do for a while” he answered once gain giving a nervous and light
shrug.
“W- wanted to do?” The blonde questioned with a
blink as he started to catch up with himself. “But you… you k – kissed me” he
stuttered, a small red blush moving over his cheeks.
When he saw the man raise a brow, the blonde began
to wonder if it was in fact a kiss he had felt, or he was imagining something
and now making a complete fool of himself. He wasn’t sure what was happening
and then he was sure that what he had felt against his lips had been the
other’s lips… but when he thought back to the light touch he found himself
doubting what it was he had felt.
“I know. Like I said, I’ve wanted to do that for a while now” Harry stated,
looking a little less stressed and a little more amused.
“B – but I don’t understand” although he was sure
he sounded like an idiot, Draco couldn’t help but say what he was saying. He
had no idea of what else to think. He couldn’t bring his brain back from the
shock of experiencing the one thing he would die never having experienced in
real life. He wasn’t sure what to do or what to think. It was now obvious that,
yes indeed he had been kissed, but now it was just a matter of making his brain
wrap around that realisation and successfully taking it in.
Harry wasn’t meant to just come up and kiss him.
He wasn’t meant to invite him for dinner and then take him to a bar. He wasn’t
meant to ask him to dance and then rest his hands on his waist and kiss
him!
“I was expecting it to be rather obvious by now” the ex-Gryffindor said as
he cocked his head to the side and studied the blonde man in watchful
amusement.
Draco shook his head, his eyes closing as he tried to push his jumbled mind
into something coherent and understandable. “I don’t understand” he finally
said, “You kissed me… but why?”
Sighing Harry lifted a hand from the blonde’s waist and used it to brush his
fringe away from his eyes, and then continue to run through his hair until he
rubbed at the back of his neck. “Again I thought that answer would be a little more obvious” He said with his eyes still
locked on the blonde's in front of him.
With Draco only looking back at him, waiting for a reply, Harry gave a sigh
and once again rested his hand back on the small waist and moved the blonde
closer to him until their lower bodies were pressed lightly together, their
upper bodies unable to touch as Draco leaned back to look up at the brunette.
Though he was shocked and trying to get an understandable response from the
brunette he didn’t pull away when his body was tugged closer. Nor did he protest when he once again felt the
calloused hands move to his middle back.
“Well I guess it isn’t that obvious then” the ex-Gryffindor stalled as he
tried to find the right words to use. Draco just continued to look up at him,
waiting.
Giving another sigh Harry unconsciously ran his fingers up and down the
blonde’s spine. “I mean what I said with the wanting to do that for a while…
because I have. I – I guess what I mean to say is that I’ve wanted to talk to
you and hopefully get to know you better… I’ve probably completely freaked you
out though, what with the kiss and all,” he continued in a voice that didn’t
seem too directed towards the blonde and more to himself.
“But why?” Draco found himself
able to ask once again.
Harry looked to him. His facial features seemed to scream ‘Are you really
that blonde?’ but instead his lips quirked upwards as he fought to conceal a
chuckle. “Well I guess because I like you and I wanted to” he said, sounding more unsure then he looked.
All that registered n Draco’s mind was the word ‘like’ and just that word
alone managed to throw him.
“Y- you like me?” he heard himself ask before he could
even give consent for the words to form.
Harry slowly nodded, his eyes studying the small man for any signs of a
violent attack. “Yes, and to be truthful I have for some time” he answered
steadily.
“What!? I – but how?” If
Harry hadn’t been holding him, Draco was sure he would have fallen over his own
feet by now.
He liked him and had for some time now? How long? Was he serious? Was this
real life? Was this really happening? He was about ready to pinch himself when he felt a hand rest on his shoulder.
Looking over his left, Draco found a pair of brown eyes looking back at him,
the same eyes that matched those of that man that had tried to talk to him
earlier, he vaguely felt Harry’s hand come to a stop on his waist and hold him
a little firmer against his body.
Chad
smiled calmly and nodded to Harry before he once again rested his vision on the
blonde, “I see you found your boyfriend” chuckling he turned his attention to
Harry once again. “I was sure he was lying about dating you, but hey, seems I
was wrong” he said with a shrug. “Just hoping to get one dance with your man
before you two nick off, if I have your permission” he
said with his eyes locking with a slightly shocked Harry’s.
“I - ” Raising a brow as apparently the sentence caught up with him, green
eyes lowered to meet a slightly red face and narrowed silver eyes. “He told you
we were dating?” he asked, his gaze not leaving even narrower silver.
Chad
nodded, not quite seeing what was happening. “Yeah, I approached him just after
you left… said you’re both dating had have been for some time…” he answered,
his gaze flickering to the two. “You two are dating? Aren’t you?” he asked.
Draco was forced to drop his glare when the amused green eyes got too much,
and avoiding eye contact all together seemed to be the better option, he only
hoped the lights were dim enough to hide his blush.
What were the odds that Chad
had found him all the way in the middle of the dance floor? It took him ages to
find Harry and yet Chad
seemed to have no problems with finding him.
“Well actually I was just about to ask that one” Harry’s voice carried over
to the ex-Slytherins ears. Looking up Draco looked to the brunette in front of
him shocked. What was Potter trying to get out. He was
sure if he was finding the entire situation out of this world he wouldn’t act
so confused, but he was currently very confused and still entertaining the idea
of dreaming. It all seemed too unrealistic.
He hadn’t seen Potter in years. When they were in their last year of
Hogwarts - not to mention the rest of the years in Hogwarts - Harry hated him
with a passion and wasn’t afraid to show it. During the last year of school
Harry just didn’t even bother to notice his existence… and now, after all these
years with the last words from the ex-Gryffindor being ‘Fuck off Malfoy’,
Potter was suddenly thrown back into his life through a car crash and towards
the end of the night he was now kissing him, saying that he had wanted to do
that for a while and now what? Asking him out?!
“What? So you guys aren’t actually dating?” Chad asked startled.
Throwing both men a glare Draco pushed his way out of the brunette’s arms.
He didn’t bother to fight back or to demand an explanation. He just pushed past
Chad
and made his way through the crowd. Hardly noticing the dancing bodies or the
loud music, he shoved past people and fought his way towards the bar's exit. He
was feeling both claustrophobic and muddled. He had no idea what was going on,
and the closed in space wasn’t helping him.
Pushing his way past a small group of drunk men the
blonde burst from the large crowd and ran for the exit, dodging small groups as
he did. Pushing the door open and running from the darkened and crowded area,
Draco ran faster down the footpath, barely hearing the yell of the tall man at
the door.
He didn’t know why he was running or why he was feeling so lost. All he knew
was that he couldn’t stay in that room with all those people, especially with
Harry. He registered the fact that he had just been asked out, but for some
reason it only helped to make him suddenly break his way out of the place and
bolt down the closest street he saw.
He knew he was probably stupid for running, and he probably looked it too.
But he didn’t want to stop. Running seemed to help him, it seemed to make
whatever it was in him relax.
He needed to think and he needed to just… run!
He vaguely felt his clothes forming back into the original jeans and shirt,
he felt his joggers hit the concrete pavement and he could hear his breath
panting as he ran down another street.
He slowed down and soon enough he fell back against the tall building he had
stopped beside and closed his eyes. Panting he dropped his head back ignoring
the small pain that shot through the back of his skull as it connected with the
hard wall.
So, Harry had asked him out. He had also kissed him and commented that he
had wanted to do so for a while… but why did he run?
Didn’t he like Harry? Hadn’t he always wanted to at least have the courage
to walk up to the brunette in school and tell him that he wanted to go out?
Didn’t he always dream of feeling the other man’s body against his own? Yes he
had. He had dreamt it and wanted it for so long. When he had left the wizarding
world he was plagued almost every night with dreams of the brunette. For weeks
he would always find himself wondering what the ex-Gryffindor was doing… for
months he screamed at himself to just move on and forget.
He had constantly found it puzzling as to why he was so obsessed over the brunette. He hadn’t
even dated him nor had he experienced any kind of hint from the other that
there could be more then their arguments and hatred. But he always found a way
to think of him or to dream of him as if they had once had something.
Why was it that suddenly he had no idea of
what he wanted? He had always wanted Harry to look at him the same way he had looked at all his girlfriends.
He had always wanted Harry to smile at him and kiss him. And suddenly he felt
like he had no idea as to what he wanted and
what was real and what wasn’t.
He felt like an idiot for suddenly running, only children turn and run… then
again people had been treating him like a child all
day. Maybe it was because he was one.
Sifting his fingers through his hair he opened his eyes and tried to ignore
the hot sting behind them. He wasn’t sure why he was feeling so confused and
close to tears. If he didn’t know any better he would say he was a girl around that time of the month… but he wasn’t.
He had been asked out many times before, by both male and female but during those times he had never felt this lost, and never had he suddenly turned and run and then cried.
He was acting stupid and he knew it. Harry had just asked him out… Why? He
had no idea. But he was asked out by Harry Potter all the same. And what did he
do? He ran for it and now trying to fight back the tears.
This really wasn’t his day.
oOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
After a while of just wondering the streets thinking, Draco managed to hail
a cab home and pay the fare – barely.
He wasn’t feeling much better from when he
had ran from the gay bar, but he wasn’t about to break down either. He had
figured out a few of his thoughts and was now dealing with the idea that maybe
he was in fact awake and there was more to the picture then he knew.
Talking to Harry seemed to be the closest thing to getting a better idea of
what was happening, he didn’t have the mans address or
number, but he was sure that he would see or hear from him soon enough. Harry
wasn’t the sort of man to just let a guy he had asked out to turn and run
without trying to explain - Every time he thought about the fact that Harry had
asked him out his heart would feel as if it was flying. He didn’t know whether
to scream in frustration or grin like an idiot. He was doing everything in his
power not to do the second one. But he knew Harry wasn’t the sort to just let
him run off like that, so he was sure that he’d meet up with the man some time
soon.
He wasn’t too surprised when he turned onto his street and saw a black BMW
parked in front of his house, nor was he surprised when he saw the dark haired
man sitting on his front step.
Feeling his nerves tighten as he walked up his footpath he fought to try and
keep a little under control as green eyes rose to meet his.
For a while they just looked at each other, and for a while Draco was sure
it was uncomfortable. But then suddenly Harry stood and licked his lips
nervously.
“I’m sorry” the man spurted so suddenly that Draco blinked in surprise. “I
didn’t mean to scare you off or anything like that… I’m not a very rational
person… I tend to move first and think later, and now that I’ve thought about
it I can see how stupid I was. I shouldn’t have just pounced on you like that,
I should have just waited” he continued, his gaze locked with Draco’s as he
fidgeted.
“It’s just that I never really thought I’d see you again… and I guess I was
reading some signs wrong” he admitted his gaze finally breaking from silver.
Once again a silence filled the air. Draco, yet to say something since he
arrived, looked back to the brunette. He didn’t really know what to say, and he
wasn’t really sure what to do either. It wasn’t until he shivered from the cold
breeze that he opened his mouth. “Do you want to come in?” He said as he felt
the nervous butterflies flutter into his throat as he looked back to the tall
brunette.
Harry – for a first – looked startled, but then his face softened and he
gave a small nod. “I’d love to” he said as he stepped aside for Draco to walk
past him and open the door.
Although he felt nervous, and he wasn’t sure what he was doing, Draco gave a
small smile to the man and walked past him, his hands digging around in his
pockets for the keys.
As he unlocked the door he stood to the side, allowing the taller man to
step past and into the warmth that the house had to offer them. He closed the
door behind him to keep out the biting chill and headed into the lounge room,
Harry close behind him.
He wasn’t sure what to say or do. All he knew was that fate seemed to be
making a decision for him as he turned and looked up
into the soft green eyes of the brunette standing only inches from his.
“Do you know what you want?” Harry asked in a soft voice. The question almost took the blonde by surprise as
he blinked up to the brunette Gryffindor. It was as if the question had come
from nowhere. Suddenly Harry was apologising and now here he was, asking him
what he wanted.
What did he want?
Licking his dry lips and taking a nervous step forward, his silver gaze
intensely studied the still and waiting man in front of him, he slowly nodded.
It was as if stepping past the threshold of his house had changed the mood
suddenly. Everything was dim and silent. There was nothing but Harry and
himself in the room. Harry was studying him watchfully, keeping still. He
didn’t look like he was going to force a choice on him and nor did he look like
he didn’t care what the choice would be.
As soon as he had stepped into his house Draco had felt like everything had
just clicked in, he felt like suddenly everything he wanted was in front of him
and it was easy enough to reach out and take it, and that’s exactly what he
did.
He raised his hand slowly and curled his fingers
around the silky material of Harry’s shirt, feeling the warmth of Harry's body on it. His breath was shaky as was
his body. But, when he stepped that inch closer that brought him into Harry’s
aura he looked up into the deep green eyes and, giving a nervous nod, once
again he raised himself those few inches higher onto his tip toes and pressed
his lips against the brunette's, feeling them curve into a smile as he did.
Within a moment he felt his body being enveloped in strong arms, his chest
being pulled against the hard body of the man he had once been forced to call
his enemy.
He could feel the warmth and the want radiating from the Gryffindor, and all
he could do to respond and show his mutual feelings was to push himself closer
and open his mouth to the waiting tongue.
He felt the arms pull him closer and his head seemed like it was spinning on
a cloud as Harry deepened the kiss. His own arms moved up biceps over shoulders
and into thick black hair. It felt right and amazingly enough it seemed like
his panic attack had been for nothing. It was almost unbelievable that he met
Harry today, and the same day he was kissing him and being asked out… but it
was so right, and it didn’t seem rushed in his opinion.
He felt Harry pull him closer as his tongue swept back out of his mouth and
instead swept over his lower lip before suckling it in, his teeth lightly
latching onto it, causing the blonde’s body to shudder and arch into him with a
deep moan escaping.
Draco’s arms gripped tighter around the brunette’s shoulders, his fingers
closing around the thick mop of hair as his lower lip was suckled.
It felt right as he arched up into the brunette’s body, feeling the man
claim him and love him – though love may be a bit of a strong word for the
beginning of a relationship.
Harry’s body was hard and warm, his hands slipped down his body, cupping his
buttocks as he pulled him in closer, causing the blonde gasp in surprise before
moaning.
His lip was released, but there was no stopping. Harry’s head dipped lower,
and before Draco could catch his breath he was gasping again as the man’s warm
tongue licked at his skin.
His head fell back and his arms tightened, trying to keep some sense of
reality around him. When he felt Harry’s lips press against his neck he rolled
his head to the side and moaned again, reality quickly slipping as Harry guided
him backwards, towards the awaiting lounge.
The back of his knees hit the edge of the lounge. Draco gave a small glance
over his shoulder before he let himself be guided onto it, Harry crawling on
top of him, his lips never once leaving his body.
As soon as his back was lying on the comforter, Draco allowed his body to
relax and his eyes to close in pleasure.
He felt so dominated and worshiped. It felt right as Harry’s fingers played
with the buttons of his shirt.
He arched up into the taller body, vaguely hearing himself moan the
brunette’s name when he felt the callused hand slip under his shirt and over
his skin. Warmth radiated, leaving Draco feeling as if he was wrapped up in a
woolly blanket, sitting on a fluffy matt in front of a crackling winters fire.
He felt so right, he never knew that inviting Harry into his house would
lead to this, but not once was he complaining as Harry ravished him.
His hands moved out of the dark locks of hair and down his back, his fingers
slipping under the collar of the man’s shirt, his fingers gliding over the
skin.
He was with Harry – his long term crush – he was in his house, on his lounge
and Harry was on him… kissing him, touching him and loving him. And all he
could think of was that he wouldn’t want it any other way. Suddenly he had no
idea why he had run from the club.
Harry straddled his waist and sat up, smiling softly and hungrily down at
the flushed and panting blonde. His fingers moved slowly over the man’s shirt,
un-buttoning it in such a slow tortures way. One button would be unclasped and
then a finger would run down the newly exposed skin until it found the next
silver button.
Draco’s hands had dropped to Harry’s waist, his fingers were once again
finding their way under the material, they grazed gently over the warm and
tanned skin, and he watched in delight as Harry’s body trembled above him.
Harry’s eyes were locked with his, dark green orbs shinning in want and
desire. Draco’s eyes were slightly dilated, his usually silver colour a stormy
grey.
As soon as Draco’s shirt was entirely unbuttoned, the brunette’s hands
slipped in and up, forcing the shirt to part and reveal what it had been hiding
from him all day.
Milky soft skin was shown to him along with pink, half-erect nipples. He
smiled and ducked back down, his lips brushing with talent over the blonde’s chest, it was as if he already knew all the places to touch,
like he knew exactly how to make the blonde whither and moan, the vocal noises
worked well to spur him on in his attention giving.
Below him Draco arched, moaned and gasped, his body shuddering and shifting.
He felt like just this alone would take him to the edge. Harry was talented with
both his lips and tongue, and he wasn’t about to get started on his hands.
Trying to pull himself out of his pleasure coated mind, the ex-Slytherin
slipped the rest of his hand beneath the brunettes shirt, slipping his slim
digits up the taunt stomach and over the muscular chest, his fingers slipped
into the puffs of hair, it wasn’t until he heard Harry gasp that he knew he was
getting closer to the mans right nipple.
For a while he teased the ex-Gryffindor, just like he was teasing him. His
finger circling the erect nipple, every now and again he’d ghost of the
puckered skin before moving back to play gently with the puffs off hair.
Harry moaned as he dropped his head onto the blonde’s chest, his hot breath
brushing over the man’s own chest hairs, making him shudder in delight as he
continued his own ministration.
Draco’s eyes were closed as he felt the warm breath ghost over his left
nipple, and soon gasped – his eyes flying open – when he felt a hot and wet
mouth close around it, his back arched up, his eyes once again closing in
delight as Harry flicked his tongue out and over the puckered skin.
“H-Harry” he moaned deep in his throat, he pinched at the mans nipple,
making him groan and roll his hips down – this course of action bringing two
strong groans from both men.
Waves of pleasure were running through their bodies, heating them up, making
them sweat and pant and shudder in delight as they grounded their erections
together.
He groaned again, when Harry rolled his hips down onto him, his hand slipping
down from the man’s chest to his stomach. He ran the back of his cleanly
trimmed nails over the man’s skin, around to his waist before down towards
where his pants started.
Harry moaned above him, his eyes closed as he released Draco’s nipple, his
forehead came to rest on the blonde’s chest once again. Friction was started
when Draco’s hips thrusted up into his.
Kicking his legs out from straddling the blonde, Harry laid completely on
the man, his face moving back to Draco’s, his lips seeking the parted and
slightly swollen ones of his partner.
Rhythm was started, friction was caused, and as their tongues danced and
their hands explored, both men neared completions.
Draco’s legs were bent at the knees, one foot hooked over Harry’s legs while
the other rested between the lounge, toes curled, while Harry laid between his
legs, rolling his hips down onto his, bringing him to the brink of orgasm.
He felt the tightness building in his navel, and when Harry’s lips moved to
his ear and his teeth caught his lobe, the blonde gave a cry as he came. His
back arched into the taller mans body, his fingers gripped tight to the strong
shoulders and his head thrown back in pleasure.
Feeling the blonde’s body convulse and shudder beneath him, the tightness
within Harry’s navel exploded, and soon he was riding the wave with his
partner, his eyes closed, and his jaw tight as he buried his face into the
blonde’s exposed neck.
Draco’s breath softened as his body began to slowly relax; he moved his head
to the side, swollen lips parted as he moved his hands lazily into the
brunette’s hair.
Harry, in return, shifted to the side so that he wasn’t lying completely on
top of the blonde; his arms wrapped around the blonde’s waist as he closed his
eyes and breathed in the sent of the man that had been missing from his life
for the past few years.
As his mind grew heavier and sleep overcame him, Draco heard the distant
chimes from the clock in the kitchen striking midnight.
Perhaps today would be a good day.
