Summary: When a Mistle Fairy chooses to bind herself to a student at Hogwarts, suddenly all Harry can think about is kissing Draco Malfoy. And what luck! Guess who just opened a kissing booth in the Great Hall? AU (7th year @ Hogwarts), Slash, lip-gloss (fetish-y), minor Het mentioned.
A/N: Just a bit of fluff that I couldn't get out of my head. Semi-holiday-ish, but more in the Christmas spirit. Ah, well, what do you think?

Kissing Draco Malfoy
Laurence Ashton
As the holiday season drew nearer, the school became enveloped in cheer. Hagrid dragged in enormous trees and Professor Flitwick charmed them with decorations. The Enchanted Ceiling took on a perpetual snowy haze. Evergreen strands and holly decked the halls. Suits of armor belted carols whenever someone passed by. All the students became enraptured, jolly. Except for one. Draco Malfoy continued to sneer. Harry wanted to punch it away.

And then there came the day when the fairies and pixies invaded the school. Among them was a cheery little one, decked in red and green, who blushed each time someone went near her. Filch was hard pressed to get rid of them all. In the end, he stopped trying.

One day, a week before break and just after the end of term, Draco got a reason to wear his scowl. The blushing, green-and-red robed fairy perched in his hair when he got too near and wouldn’t come out for the world. He was forced to wear her about, like a ribbon or some other adornment. This made his foul mood worse and he had taken to hexing anyone who looked to approach him. The blushing fairy giggled and sang a merry Christmas song.

The next day, Pansy Parkinson started to chase Malfoy around the school, and other girls followed her lead. The hexes had only held them at bay for so long. To escape them, Draco had started to duck around campus, hiding or running, and always sporting the most becoming flush and pouty lips.

“I don’t know why he’s fighting it, really,” Ron laughed as they watched as Draco fled around the lake while the Patil twins attempted to corner him. “Nobody escapes the draw of the Mistle Fairy. He’s got to accept a kiss from anyone who wants one or he’ll never find the suitor who’ll get rid of her for good! Fun to watch though. Did you see what he did to Susan Bones this morning?”

That night, following dinner, Draco set up a kissing booth in the Great Hall. A sign beside it read: One time only; 30-second limit; flavored lip-gloss, please. Closes 9pm, SHARP. All of Gryffindor house got up to gawk and mock him as he sat petulantly at the booth and all the desirous girls began to queue up. Pansy Parkinson was first in line, no surprise there, but raced from the room crying when the fairy gripped Draco’s hair and remained resolutely perched. Harry watched, transfixed by the remarkable number of girls who actually wanted to kiss the Slytherin brat. By 9pm, Draco’s lips were full and glossy and kept their adorable, put-upon pout. Harry wanted to kiss it away.

Draco’s kissing booth made another appearance the next day, following dinner, and the same sign perched beside it. As the line of girls dwindled, a few brave boys joined in the queue. Draco flushed scarlet when the first bloke, Justin Finch-Fletchley, appeared in front of him and leaned in for a kiss. The spectators laughed as Justin held Draco by the nape of his neck and clashed their mouths together. Harry gawked, mesmerized by the way Draco squirmed, submitted, and lost track of the seconds as they slunk away. Justin walked away with a dreamy smile on his face, and so did all the others who followed. The Mistle Fairy remained. As the group of spectators broke up for the evening, Harry overhead Justin gushing to Dean Thomas about how soft Draco’s lips were, and how he tasted of butterscotch candies. That night, Harry woke prematurely, haunted by unintelligible whispers, and sneaked down to the kitchens for a handful of butterscotch toffees.

That morning, Harry went downstairs early and found Hermione reading by the fireplace. He sat with her in companionable silence for half an hour, until his thoughts took the strange turn towards Draco and the Mistle Fairy, and kissing Draco Malfoy. He popped a piece of butterscotch. Hermione watched him over the edge of her book for a moment, then left. When she returned she emptied her pockets onto the table. Seventeen tubes of glittery lip gloss sparkled in the firelight. Harry blushed and averted his eyes, but Hermione urged him to pick one. Despite himself, Harry went through them carefully. He wondered if Draco liked caramel and cream as much as butterscotch.

Following dinner that night, Draco set up his kissing booth reluctantly. Some of the girls who hadn’t had the courage to queue up before joined in with the boys who’d recently found their nerve as well. Draco looked utterly bored as he surveyed the line and submitted to each of their kisses. Some were soft, tentative, exploratory. Others were hard, assertive, demanding. The Mistle Fairy looked thoroughly unimpressed by them all, though she watched with glittering, eager eyes. Harry steeled himself to join the queue at the last minute, much to Ron’s dismay. Draco gawked at him, sneered, opened his mouth to say something biting, then snapped it shut again. The Mistle Fairy laughed and started into a cheery Christmas love song. Blushing furiously, Draco glared at his watch as if willing time to speed up. It struck 9pm. He fled without a backward glance.

Draco didn’t bother coming to dinner the next day and rumor out of Slytherin had it that he’d given up on the kissing booth all together. He’d locked himself in his bedroom and moped all day. Harry was deeply disturbed by how upset he got at that news. He’d poked at his dinner and brooded the evening away in the common room, glaring at the fire. The end of term was looming closer, and all Harry could do was munch on butterscotch and put on Hermione’s lip gloss in secret, only to lick it away throughout the day. It was a little taste of Draco. Harry didn’t think it would ever be enough.
~
“You know, mate,” Ron said the next morning when he came upon Harry brooding by the fireplace once more. “Malfoy broke the rules. When the Mistle Fairy binds itself to someone, that person has to accept a kiss from anyone who wants a kiss, whether they be girl or boy, friend or enemy. He owes you…. And that’s just what I think about that.” As Ron departed, Harry fingered the tube of lip-gloss that he’d taken to carrying around. He took a moment to formulate a plan to catch Draco unawares, then grinned. This time when he applied the lip-gloss, he didn’t lick it off. Draco was due for a little taste of Harry Potter.

Harry went to Ginny for help that afternoon, and Ginny was all too eager to send Draco a less-than-kindly phrased missive demanding his presence in the Room of Requirement that night. Draco showed up, sulking along, promptly at ten and slammed the door behind him. Harry surreptitiously cast a locking charm on the door before he revealed himself, emerging from his Invisibility Cloak. Draco stared at him stricken when he caught sight of Harry, and frantically tried the door. Harry grinned at him, stalked closer, and said, “Oh, you’re not getting out of here just yet, Draco. You’re obligated to kiss everybody who wants a kiss from you. Yet you ran away from me yesterday. Now we’re going to do this on my terms.”
~
Draco’s skin felt smooth and warm when Harry cupped his face in one hand, and his hair felt silky soft when Harry twined his fingers in the wisps at the nape of his neck. Draco trembled, flushed, squirmed when Harry drew him closer, and his breaths came in quick succession. Harry pressed their lips together lightly first, and Draco’s lashes fluttered as he closed his eyes. He turned his face away, and Harry let him. Draco’s lips were petal soft, and Harry delighted in brushing his quidditch-callous roughened fingertips against them and feeling them quiver. In time, Draco managed to look at Harry once more. Harry kissed him again, deeper this time, letting his tongue brush against Draco’s, and savoring that sweet, candy flavor. Harry moaned into Draco’s mouth, and Draco drank it down. His fingers, tentatively pressed against Harry’s hips, quavered.
~
“One kiss only, Potter,” Draco drawled when Harry queued up first as the kissing booth opened again. Harry grinned at him and surged against him like a tide, swift and unyielding and demanding. Despite himself, Draco melted into the kiss, relinquishing his sharp tongue and witty bite into Harry’s hands completely. Harry handled him gently, cognizant of how much of himself Draco gave over with every kiss, and cherishing it. In truth, Harry had had his chance, and that should have been that. But Draco still gasped against him, whimpering, quivering, allowing Harry to take all that he wanted… all that he needed. It was like the first snowflake of winter, newly fallen, glistening in the sunlight -- all so completely magical. Harry wanted to drown in this feeling, but he pulled away when he felt a tiny hand on his neck, carding through his hair. The Mistle Fairy no longer perched in Draco’s hair, but rather on Harry’s shoulder. Draco stared at her a moment, then blushed and averted his eyes. The students and professors in the Great Hall watched in astounded silence as Harry turned his wand on the sign by Draco’s kissing booth. It vanished with a little pop.
~
“Do you understand, now?” asked the Mistle Fairy, flitting through the air in front of Harry’s face as Draco sprawled across the couch, head in Harry’s lap, sleeping. When Harry shook his head, she explained, “I am a Mistle Fairy. We are born only when a Christmas kiss paves the way for two souls perfectly-matched to join together. You see, the Mistletoe tradition is that one gives a kiss and one receives it. We are born only when one gives a kiss and one accepts the kisser!” Then Harry understood and smiled as she laughed giddily. “Your kiss tonight gave birth to another of my kind, and we are so rare! Thank you, thank you both, sweet holiday lovers!” She faded away before Harry got a chance to return the thanks. Instead he sifted his fingers through Draco’s silky hair and kissed his forehead. In his sleep, Draco smiled.
