Okaay, it isn’t necessary for you to have read Demon Diary, but just to let you know, there are seven volumes about a fifteen year old boy who is to become the next Demon Lord. He is slightly unconventional and ditzy but also loveable, which isn’t such a good thing to be if you’re a demon. Right, well I think that is all you need to know, oh and the person charged to help groom the boy into the perfect Demon Lord is a powerful Demon called Eclipse. That’s it really. Now on with the story!!!
Chapter One
Harry glared out of the window of the car, thinking about his friends, well if you could call them that. He hadn’t heard from either during the whole summer so far and had stopped sending them letters after about two weeks of no reply.
Harry Potter is no ordinary boy, he is a wizard and the month before had seen evil face to face and had watched as one of his school friends, Cedric Diggory, had been murdered before his eyes for no reason. Harry had lost all faith in anyone during that fateful time in the cemetery.
Dumbeldore had failed to protect him from what was happening under his very nose and had failed to protect Cedric. Of course no one was perfect, he knew that, but surely the supposed Leader of the Light and most powerful wizard in current history would have noticed that a Death Eater had come into the castle. And even if he hadn’t noticed that, why did he not notice that the cup had been changed into a portkey, I mean weren’t you supposed to have permission to make them? So why did no one notice the illegal portkey made on school grounds?
And so, Harry was now a very bitter fifteen year old, well almost fifteen. He would be fifteen in three days, but in only a few hours he would be in a completely different country. See the Durs;eys had decided that they were going on holiday to somewhere in Asia. Harry hadn’t bothered asking were as he knew he wouldn’t be going. So imagine his surprise when his fat oaf of an Uncle charged into his room the day before with a small suitcase and ordered him to pack somethings that he would need ot take with him. Apparently they had tried to get someone to watch over him but no one could on such short notice and so he would have to go with them.
Harry hadsn’t told anyone. Not his so called friends, not his godfather and certainly not his headmaster. No. They wouldn’t realise he wasn’t at the house that had soooo much protection that he had to return every year. Nope. They wouldn’t find out for quite a while either.

Harry pushed the luggage trolley through the crowded airport, following his ‘family’ to the exit where there would hopefully be some sort of transport to take them to the small villa they would be staying in for the next two weeks. He was already sweating from a combination of the heat and the energy he had to use to push the over-loaded trolley, not that the Dursleys cared.
“Hurry up boy! We don’t want to miss the ride into the city.” His uncle barked at him, before walking through the doors of the airport. Harry sighed heavily and then pushed the trolley through the doorway and stopped next to the Dursleys as they made arrangements with the bus driver.
Eventually they had all come to an agreement, the luggage had been loaded onto the bus and they were entering the city and heading for the villa that they would be staying in. Harry couldn’t help but feel slightly excited at the possibility of wandering through the market place by his self and without the Dursley’s constantly breathing down his neck. He also couldn’t help but notice the amount of shrines and temples that the city seemed to have. Though the largest one was the one that worshipped the God Rased.
They eventually got to the villa a few minutes later and after a small temper tantrum from Dudley and lots of yelling at Harry, everyone had their own room and their luggage had been unpacked and put away in the drawers.
Harry sighed tiredly as he lay on his bed in the smallest room in the villa (which was actually the pantry, his bed was in fact a blanket on the ground). He was actually on Holiday. He didn’t care that he had to lie on the floor, there was a whole new city to explore and to find out if there were any Wizarding places around that he could hide in from the Dursley’s. No Harry didn’t care about anything at that moment in time, as he sighed contentedly ands fell into a peaceful sleep.

On the morning of Harry’s birthday the people back home were discussing whether or not to go and fetch their saviour from his family and bring him to the headquarters of the newly re-established Order of the Phoenix.
“I think we should just leave him at his family until the end of summer. He is safest there after all and he hasn’t sent any of us any letters saying that he wishes to come here. Sirius? Remus? Have either of you heard from him?” Dumbledore asked.
“No, we only got one letter at the beginning of summer telling us that he was fine and not to worry about him.”
“Maybe we should leave him alone for the summer, you know to let him grieve.” Molly Weasley suggested, though not realising that she had just suggested one of the worst things that they could do. Of course it was a bit to late for this conversation anyway.
“Then it is agreed then, we will just leave Harry alone and see him on the train or at school on September first.” Dumbledore concluded. Everyone agreed, thinking the decision was for the best whilst the two teenagers who had been eavedropping hurried back to Ron’s room to talk.

“Er… Ron, I have completely forgotten that it is Harry’s birthday today!” Hermione shrieked at her boyfriend..
“Yeah me too. Ah well, I don’t think he really expects presents anyway, you know, he didn’t really get any until he was eleven anyway, so maybe he won’t notice.”
“Yeah you’re right. Well I haven’t heard from him all summer any way. Well he did send me a few letters at the beginning but then he stopped.”
“Yup, me too. Well it just leaves more time for us to spend time together without Harry tagging along.” Ron said snidely about his supposed best friend. Hermione nodded her agreement and then kissed her boyfriend.

Meanwhile Harry was wandering through the Market place aimlessly. He had visited this market place everyday since he had come here. Which admittedly was only twice, but he already knew his way around and was astonished to learn that a) Muggles here knew about magic, b) he could use magic without alerting the ministry and c) the snakes here were really polite.
The latter discovery came across when he had come across a snake just outside of the city. He stopped to talk to it for a bit and left about an hour later with his head brimming with knowledge of Demons, Gods, heavens creatures and the such. He had never met a polite snake in England before. Sure they were nice company, but then again a twig was nice company compared to the Dursleys. Harry had loved his conversation with the snakes here and had decided to speak with any other snakes that he came across, not only because they were very polite, but also because they gave lots of information.
The second discovery came across by complete accident. He had dropped a stack of plates when he was cleaning and without even thinking what he was doing he hast cast Wingardium Leviosa to stop them from hitting the ground and shattering (which turned out to be a complete waste of time because he had been so shocked and worried when he had cast the magic that he had let his concentration slip and the plates had shattered anyway.)
He had spent a very uncomfortable night sitting in his ‘room’, rubbing the bruises that he had received from his uncle earlier when he had smashed all of the plates and waiting anxiously for the inevitable letter that would come, expelling him from Hogwarts.
When he had woken the next morning to find that no letter had arrived, he realised that he must be too far away from home for his ministry of magic to pick his magic up. He had then happily numbed the pain of his bruises and cast a concealing charm to cover them up and went into town. Which is where we find him now.
As Harry wandered through the town, listening out for any information that might be useful, he couldn’t get rid of the anxiety that he was feeling in his stomach. He knew that something was going to go wrong today but had no idea what. He just knew it would be bad and it would include him. It always did.
He had also tried a charm that another very polite snake had suggested to him. It was a charm cast on the ears, letting the wizard understand any language spoken to him, he also cast another on him to allow him to speak back. Surprisingly they had both worked. And so now Harry could carry out conversations with the locals.
Later that day Harry walked slowly up to the temple of Rased to visit it. He had heard that Rased was supposed to be one of the most powerful gods (though the snakes and apparently demons called them heavens creatures) and he was interested in him. He was almost at the entrance when a sharp hissing noise stopped him. He frowned and looked down to see the snake that he had first spoken to here.
ss.Hey! How have you been? Did you want me?.ss
ss.Yes young snake-child. I noticed you walking to the temple of Rased. Do not go there, you will not be welcomed by them.ss
ss.Er… why not?.ss Harry frowned, crouching down so that he was nearer to the large grass snake. He couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t be welcome, unless they just didn’t like outsiders. But the impression that he had gotten from the locals was that they welcomed any newcomer, hoping to sway them.
ss.You just wouldn’t snake-child. I know them, and they can sense it.ss
ss.Er… sense what?ss Harry asked, beginning to feel even more anxious as he glanced up at the temple looming before him.
ss.Darkness. You are a child of Dark. You may believe that you are Light but no one who has experienced what you have, snake-child, is light. And no one who can speak the noble tongue of the snakes is light. Embrace you darkness, but do not let it over power you and possess you. No good can come of that. Just promise me that you will never go into one of these temples. They will not let you leave alive.ss
ss.Er… sure. But what do you mean I am a child of Dark. Does that mean I am like Tom Riddle?ss Harry asked, feeling the panic rise up in him, he knew they were similar, even Tom himself had pointed that out, but he didn’t want to turn out like him. A cold, hardened murderer.
ss.No, he was indeed a child of the Dark but he let the dark consume him. Now he is nothing more than a ruthless killer. A monster. Not even the demons would consider joining him. The war of you wizarding world is coming closer to here everyday snake-child. You are the only one who will be able to end that.ss and with that criptic message the snake slithered away, leaving a thoroughly confused Harry Potter behind.
After a few minutes of staring after the snake Harry shook his head to clear it and then made his way back down the mountain and made his way back to the villa, hoping that his aunt had made some dinner and left him some as he had left his money that morning and so hadn’t had anything all day.
When he finally arrived back at the villa he was surprised to find that all of the doors and windows were locked and every light was turned out. Frowning he called for his uncle and aunt. After almost ten minutes of fruitless calling, he realised something that made a cold dread grab his heart and squeeze it painfully.
He had been abandoned.
