It was 11.30pm, of the day before Harry’s 13th birthday. Naturally Harry had stayed awake to receive his presents and cards on the stroke of midnight. Currently he was reading the Magical Inheritances Leaflet that the Ministry sent all members of the community before their 13th birthday. This was because the age of 13 was magically significant. Whilst 17 was the legal age of majority in the Wizarding World, at 13 you became an adult in the eyes of magic, and would thus come into any magical inheritance, be it family magic or gifts, or turning into a magic creature from a recessive gene in your families blood line, or simply gaining some of the gifts of a magical creature from your family line. Dumbledore had sent him a letter a couple of days previously, giving him more information about possible inheritances he may receive. It had been highly informative, and Harry had read it so many times he could picture it in his head.

Dear Mr Potter,

I hope this letter finds you in good health. As you surely know your 13th birthday approaches, and it is a highly significant date for a young witch or wizard. You will no doubt have received the Ministry leaflet, which should have given you enough information to be getting on with in general terms about what can happen. However, I am writing this letter to you, not to repeat that information, but to give you more specific information on how you may be affected.

In recorded history, there has never been a case of someone receiving an inheritance from a family member more than 7 generations behind them. So have endeavoured to go through your family tree for the previous 7 generations, and pick out anyone you may receive an inheritance from. Before I start, I should remind you that ones inheritance is an intensely private affair, though it is in some cases quite obvious. I will therefore not be asking you to divulge in me what your inheritance is, though please be sure that I will listen if you wish to speak with me.

7 generations ago a vampire married into your family. This has given you a dormant vampire gene which could theoretically activate. However given how far back it was, it is unlikely it will happen. I do however feel obliged to give you all relevant information. The vampire in question was a member of the Imprachi Clan, whom, as Im sure you know from Defence Against the Dark Arts, are not classical vampires, and rather than feed on blood they feed on lust. They also go by the titles of Incubi and Sucubi. If the gene does activate you will become an Incubus. As is the case with all vampires you will stop ageing. However, you will either become a Dominant or a Submissive. If you become a Dominant your body will automatically age itself to 18, if you become a Submissive you will simply stop ageing and growing as you are. Dominants and Submissives have different powers, and I shall not detail them here. If you do, however unlikely it is, receive this inheritance, we shall have to work out your powers on our own as all vampires receive a mixture.

6 generations ago in your family there was a Transfiguration Master in your family. I do not mean that he studied Transfiguration and was an expert at it, though he was, rather I mean, his power was specifically focused at Transfiguration. It is possible that you will receive this gift in its entirety or, like your father, receive it partially.

5 generations ago there was no one of any great note, though it is possible you will simply receive a power boost from someone from this generation.

4 generations ago there was a Charms Master in your family. This is exactly the same as a Transfiguration Master except that the specialisation is Charms.

3 generations ago there was an exceptionally powerful wizard in your family. If you receive an inheritance from him, you will gain in power greatly, though it will take time for you to be able to master the power and control it properly.

2 generations ago, your grandfather was a Wandless Wizard. He did not require the use of a wand to do magic. It is not unlikely that you will receive this inheritance, though I would advise you not to get your hopes up.

1 generation ago, your father was quite powerful and had a partial gift for Transfiguration, and your mother was quite powerful and had a partial gift for Charms. You could quite easily receive some of these gifts for your inheritance.

Please note that you will receive only one gift or inheritance.

Also, please be sure to contact me after the event to let me know that you are alright and do not require medical assistance or if you wish to speak with me regarding your inheritance.

Harry glanced at the clock, 11.45pm, 15 minutes to go. He remembered last year, when all his Housemates except Neville had gone through their inheritances. None of them had suffered or anything like that. Dean had developed cats eyes from some creature in his family tree and Seamus had gotten a partial gift for Transfiguration, which McGonagall was very pleased about. Ron had received a moderate power increase from some ancestor, and whilst he was happy about it, he did wish he had gotten something more spectacular. Lavender has gotten a partial gift with Charms, and Parvati had received a gift for Divination, the Minor Sight apparently. Hermione had developed a 100 percent photographic memory. Harry was sure he had nothing to worry about, he would simply had something new to think about in the morning.

11.55pm, he looked towards the window, and could see several specks of colour flying towards him in the distance. He opened the window in expectation, and went back to the bed. He was only dressed in a small pair of briefs, because of the heat. Even at that time of night the temperature of was above 20 degrees Celsius. During the day it was hot enough that Dudley had taken to terrorising people by going around without a top on. For some reason that Harry didn’t really understand he had felt an intense flash of jealousy when he had seen that Dudley had grown a thick patch of blonde hair under each arm when he himself hadn’t started to grow any body hair at all. He had only just reached puberty, his small cock was just starting to develop, and his balls had grown very slightly in their now slightly hanging sack. But still no hair. Just before the term ended, Harry had become very interested in watching the other boys in his dormitory in their shower room. The room was just an open space with 6 shower heads on one wall, and a bench on at the other. He had thoroughly enjoyed watching as he got dried as Dean and Ron got showered. Their bodies had both developed the most out of anyone in the group. Both had patches of pubic hair, and once when Ron had had a hard on during his shower Harry could have sworn it was at least 4 inches long.

11.59pm, the owls were now clearly visible as they swooped down towards his window. As they landed jsut inside, the clock turned 12, and Harry collapsed back in the bed as his conciousness fled.
