“That was a stupid plan.” Draco looked at Blaise. Shaking his head he paced
the small confines of the jail cell. He wasn’t quite sure what he thought
was dumbest, the plan in itself or the fact that he followed through with
it. “And you’re a stupid person for coming up with it.” Draco stopped to
glare at his cell mate.
“How was I suppose to know that he would be there? He normally goes out at
ten, leaving his office empty.” Blaise threw his hands in the air. Glancing
at the clock on the wall he read the time before laying back on his bunk; it
was half past ten.
Growling in frustration Draco dragged the man off the bed and on to the
floor, kicking him for good measure. “Yes, ten. He always leaves at ten. So
tell me genius, why we attempted to sneak into his office at four.”
At this Blaise shrugged, he clearly remembered looking at his watch and the
hands telling him that it was just past ten. How was he suppose to know that
his watch was off?
Draco slumped against his bed hoping that Pansy would be along shortly to
bail them out. Well, let him out at least; he didn’t care if the Italian
idiot stewed in the hell hole for a couple of days. As if on cue an officer
followed by Pansy rounded the corner.
“Care to tell me what happened?” The girl stood aside to let the guard open
the cell door.
Straightening his clothes while standing up, Draco waited to be let out.
“Ask your idiot boyfriend.” Walking out of the cell he followed the officer
to pick up his belongings. Checking to make sure he had everything he
watched as the object of his irritation put his watch on.
“Blaise?” He waited for the boy to acknowledge him. “Is that how you always
put on you watch?” He nodded his head at Blaise’s right arm.
Rolling his eyes Blaise nodded. “Yes, why? Do you put you watch on
differently than the rest of us, oh holy one?”
“Yes, as a matter of fact I do. I normally put my watch on so the 12 is on
top, you blithering idiot.” Draco turned and headed for the stations exit.
Blaise looked down and chuckled. “Oh, so that’s what happened.”
“What happened?” Pansy followed Draco, looking back a her boyfriend in
confusion.
Following the small group Blaise shook his head. “It’s better if you don’t
know. Trust me.”
“Pansy, you can drop me off at Potter’s. I’m sure he’s expecting me.” Draco
sat in the passenger side seat leaving the back seat for Blaise.
Pansy started the engine, putting the car in reverse. “So no one is going to
tell me what’s going on?” She glanced at the blond sitting next to her
before pulling out into traffic. “Since know one’s going to tell me what
happened, I expect one of you will be writing me a check.”
Closing his eyes, he leaned his head back against the headrest. “Of course
Blaise will be reimbursing you. If it weren’t for his stupidity we wouldn’t
be in this situation.” He turned to glare at his friend. “Tell me, even if
he had been gone how that would have worked at any measure.”
Pansy slammed on the breaks, causing both men to look at her. “If someone
doesn’t start talking to me I’m not going anywhere.” She signaled an irate
driver to go around her. “What on earth did you two plan to do that landed
you in a cell?”
“I don’t know what I was thinking to go along with it in the first place.”
Draco sighed but made no attempt to explain the plan.
Blaise elaborated where Draco left off. “Well it started out as a simple
seek and find mission. Harry has a surprise hidden for Draco; as you know
their anniversary is coming up. Draco simply wanted to know what this
surprise is, so I devised a plan that was sure to work.”
Laying her head on the steering wheel Pansy sighed. “If you came up with
this plan I’m not sure I want to know what it was. But go ahead, I’m
listening.” she turned in her seat to look at the brunet.
Twenty minutes later Draco climbed out of the car. He then proceeded to walk
up to the front of the brick house; unlocking the door he entered the cool
interior. He bypassed the sitting room even though the television was
blaring, deciding instead to take a shower. The house's other occupant had
different plans however.
“Draco can you come here for a minute? I need to talk to you.”
Sighing the blond retraced his steps stopping at the entrance to the sitting
room. Looking around he found the owner of the voice in a seat by the
window, apparently watching for his return. Sitting on the sofa he glared at
the TV knowing what was to come.
“I’m over here Draco.”
“Yes, I know that. What do you want?” Draco still refused to look over at
him. It wouldn’t help his mood any to see the haughty look on his face.
“Well could you look at me? I’m not mad you know.”
“I’m not worried about you being upset. I just don’t wanna see the-” Draco
turned to face Harry as he spoke stopping when he saw the full blown look of
smug amusement on his face. “That! I didn’t wanna see that! It’s worse then
the ‘I-told-you-so’ look!”
Chuckling, Harry shrugged. “Sorry I can’t help it. So how was you’re little
vacation jailbird?”
“I wouldn’t have even been there if you would have just told them I lived
here.”
“Yeah but you would have won. And I couldn't let you win.” Harry laughed.
Draco let out an irritated sigh. “Well if all you wanted to do was gloat
I’ve had enough.” Getting up to leave Draco turned his back on the brunet
and headed for the door.
“No, that wasn’t all I wanted to do. I wanted to ask you about something.”
Draco turned around but made no move to sit down again. Crossing his arms he
tapped his foot impatiently. “Well what is it?”
“When I caught you earlier today.” Harry paused closing his eyes gathering his words in his head before looking once again at Draco. “Were you attempting to light the curtains on fire?”
The blond flushed straight to the roots of his silvery hair. He looked down
at the floor letting his hands drop to his sides. “Well, uh…you see.”
Harry laughed. “All I saw was your attempt to ruin a perfectly good set of
curtains.”
“It was a distraction technique that Blaise assured me would work.” Draco
felt his anger rise again as he remembered his own stupidity for listening
to the Italian idiot.
“Distraction? From me noticing you two trying to sneak in to my office? That
was on the third floor?”
“No, of course not. It was a distraction for the police that were attempting
to arrest us.” The more he said the dumber the plan sounded.
“Ah, I see. So what exactly was the full plan?”
“You have to promise not to laugh.” Draco crossed his arms and pouted a pout
worthy of the Malfoy name.
“I promise.” Harry held his hand over his heart.
Sighing Draco leaned against the wall. “Well we were supposed to wait for
you to leave at ten and climb in through the window.” The blond turned
thoughtful. “Which turned out to be quite difficult because Blaise forgot
the ladder. Well anyway, he suggested we use the drain pipe instead of
turning back. Only there was no drain pipe.”
“Because the building is made of glass.”
“Are you going to let me finish?” Draco said in an irritate huff.
“Sorry, please continue.” Harry smiled.
“Well as I was saying there was no drain pipe, so I got the brilliant idea
to scale the side of the building. The frame work for the glass being just
the right height and everything.” Draco frowned again. “Half way up, the
idiot slipped. Which wasn’t as bad as the first time.”
Raising an eyebrow Harry stopped him again. “The first time?”
Sighing irately Draco responded, “Yes, the first time.”
“What made the first slip so bad?”
“OH MY GOD, if you are going to keep interrupting! The first time he
slipped, he kicked out and broke one of the glass panels.”
“Oooh, so that was what that sound was.” Harry looked at the blond in
amusement.
Draco sneered. “As I was saying. Half way up the idiot slipped and his shoe
came off. If that wasn’t bad enough it fell and hit some old woman in the
head”
“Oh, the poor woman. Was she alright?” Concern crossed Harry’s face.
“Yes, I should say so. She threw the shoe back, and her aim sucked.”
“So it was her that broke that other window.” Harry commented in
understanding.
“No.”
“No?”
“No.”
“So…? The question trailed off.
“The shoe hit me.” Draco moved his hand to brush the hair away from his
forehead. “I had the misfortune of looking down while the shoe was coming
up.” He showed the heel shaped bruise on is head. “I reared back, knocking
Blaise into and through the next panel.”
Desperately trying to hold in his laugh Harry’s face scrunched up and he nodded for Draco to go on.
“It alerted a guard, but by the time he arrived we were already shimming through you window.”
Unable to hold in his laughter any longer Harry asked the question that nagged him. “How was the first time worse then the second time?”
“Well you see, when the glass shattered, it hit the desk that was behind it.”
“I still don’t see how that was so bad as to make it worse then getting maimed with a shoe and knocking your best friend through a window.”
“It hacked a couple of wires, caused a couple of sparks and spilled fountain ink on a form.”
“No more damage then the broken window it’s self.”
Well I got a good look at the form and it just so happened to be your time off request.” Draco smiled sweetly.
Groaning Harry buried his head in his hands. “You’ve got to be kidding me. Okay so tell me what you were planning to do once you got into the office.”
“I’m getting there, hold you horses. Well anyway we were suppose to slip into you office window and have a look-see around. You normally leave around ten. So we figured that be the best time.”
Harry cleared his throat.
Draco let out a dramatic sigh. “What is it?”
“If you were going to do it around ten, why were you scaling the building at four. Actually it was more like four thirty. Did you think it was going to take you five and a half hours to climb the building?”
“If you just sit there and listen you’ll hear the whole sordid story.” Draco got up and began to pace. “Well you see Blaise looked at his watch and assured me that it was ten.” He paused in his story and his pacing. “Now that I think of it, it should have been dark.” He turned his back on Harry and walked to a wall, knocking his head into it. “I’m such an idiot. Why didn’t I notice that it couldn’t have been anywhere near ten?”
Harry did the only thing he could to hold his tongue. He bit it.
Turning around the blond slid down the wall to sit on the floor. “Is there anything else you want to know before I go hang myself?”
“Well I pretty much got everything up until the part where I walked in and caught you. But that still doesn’t explain the curtains.”
“Oh, the curtains. What do you want to know about them?”
“Why were you trying to set them ablaze?”
“I told you. Distraction technique.” Draco voice came out muffled because he had buried his face in his hands.
“Okay. Let’s me ask a better question. Why were you using a stick.” Harry rubbed a hand over his face to hide the amusement.
“I wasn’t using a stick. I was using a wand.” Draco stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“A wand?” Now Harry had to laugh. “Draco you do realize that it was just a book. Fiction. Everything they do in Daniel Radcilff and the Sourcer’s Stone was make believe?” Amusement danced in his eyes. “What was the spell you were trying to use? Light? Catch?” He grinned.
“Ignite.” Draco spat in misery.
“Oh, yes. Ignite. How silly of me. Of course that’s the spell.” Harry got up and crossed the room. Kneeling in from of Draco he pulled the blonde’s head away from his face. “A lighter would have been a lot simpler.”
“Oh don’t remind me. I’ve had a long day and the only thing I want to do is shower and go to bed.” He pulled away from Harry while standing up.
“Oh, just one more thing.?” Harry waited from Draco to look at him. Tilting his head to the side he studied the blond. “How exactly did He get the time wrong in the first place?”
Sighing, Draco walked to the door. “He had the watch on upside down.” He called the answer over his shoulder while walking out. He could still, however, hear the peels of laughter behind him.
Upon waking the next morning Harry found the bed empty. When he’d gone up to bed he found Draco showered and snoring. He slipped into bed without waking the blonde. Looking around Harry found Draco in the kitchen, slipping his arms around him, Harry nuzzled the blonde’s neck. Placing soft open mouthed kisses on the visible skin he turned Draco to-

“Oh just stop it right there. That was disturbing on several different levels.” Daniel shuddered. “I can’t believe they write this stuff!”
“Quit whining Radcliffe, it’s not as serious as you make it out to be. It’s just some silly fan girl’s fantasy.”
“Well I don’t like it. They fantasize about me…” Daniel looked around to make sure they were alone. He dropped his voice to a low whisper, “…about me being gay.”
Felton laughed. “For Christ sakes, Radcliffe. You’d think you were worry about someone finding out a secret about you. Stop flipping out about it!”
Daniel narrowed his eyes. “You’re being rather gay and merry about this. Maybe you wrote it! Maybe you’re Harry/DracoOTP.”
“I wasn’t being gay. I was merely telling you what an arse you are being about a little make-believe story. Now are you going to rehearse with me or sit here and whine for the remainder of the day?”
“You’d like that wouldn’t you?”
Tom threw his hands in the air. “For that last time, I wasn’t being gay! Now are you or arent’ you coming?”
Daniel raised an eyebrow and smirked.
“Oh, frig it. I wasn’t being gay you arse! I’m going, you can come and get me when you want to practice.” Tom stormed away.
Daniel shouted after him, “Yeah, I’ll get back to you when I’m NOT busy saving the world!” Turning around he began his own fiction, setting the record straight.
“Saving the world from what?”
“From little girls who dirty little mind are taking a children’s story and ruining it and my reputation!” Daniel looked at Emma as she came closer.
“Oh, I see you found my story. Do you like it?” Emma smiled gazing proudly at what see considered her masterpiece.
