Hermione lay back on the bed, panting and satisfied. She jumped slightly as she felt a warm familiar tongue snake up the middle of her body, coming to rest on her breast. She moaned as the tongue swirled around her very aroused nipple. Her hands fisted in the hair of her lover as he took her nipple in between his teeth and bit gently. A loud moan thrummed through her body and filled the room as her back arched up off the bed thrusting her breasts into his chest. He dropped kisses along her chest until he reached her other neglected nipple, taking it between his teeth and sucking down hard upon it. She cried out as wave after wave of arousal shot through her.

�Draco!�

A warm laugh echoed through the room as he covered her lips with his, nipping at her full lower lip, until she surrendered and opened her mouth. Their tongues met and danced languidly, softly melding together until Hermione felt positively dizzy. He pulled away and looked into her whisky coloured eyes, his breath catching in his throat as he saw the love shining back at him. His hand rose up to cup the warmth of her cheek and he felt the wetness of a tear, fall onto his thumb. His other hand cradled the back of her head as he kissed her again.

He knew he couldn�t a damn thing about her tears, because he was the cause. It didn�t stop him feeling like his heart had been ripped out with every new one that leaked from her beautiful eyes. He was the reason she was now sobbing her heart out, and he could do nothing but hold her tightly to his chest as her small frame shook with erratic sobs. He felt the guilt eating away at him for the way he was hurting her, but she had known all along what she was getting into. Falling in love with her was never his plan, but he had. He had fell for her, hook, line and sinker.

Tomorrow had been coming for a long time, and he knew as every second ticked by, she was wishing for one second more. But time was the one thing he could not give her. How he wished he could but he really couldn�t. Tomorrow had been planned since he was a babe at his fathers knee. A forging of bloodlines, securing the purity of the Malfoy name. It was a pity his other half was the most impure specimen he had ever come across. Tomorrow she would get what she had always wanted. Tomorrow Pansy Parkinson would become a Malfoy.

He was shocked that even after the war, his father had still insisted on fulfilling the contract between themselves and the Parkinson�s. He honestly thought that they would see past all the bloodline nonsense Voldemort had drilled into him, but evidently he hadn�t. Having Pansy permanently attached to his arm was what Draco deemed torture to be, in the highest form. He loved the woman in his arms more than he had ever loved anyone, and it said a lot about the man he had become.

He had never intended to fall in love with Hermione Granger, but fate has a crafty way of throwing you a bone every now and again. He had just that very day set a date for his wedding, when he ran into the only female member of the golden trio. She had been flustered and muttering something under her breath along the lines of �Idiot! Who the hell does he think he is!� when she had inadvertently ran into Draco, sending her sprawling onto the floor and him flat on his arse in the middle of Diagon Alley.

She looked absolutely mortified as she looked at him, until he started to laugh as he reached for his wand, to clean the street dirt from his robes. He looked at her, a grin on his face as she looked up at him and frowned. Her eyes nearly boggled when he offered her his hand, and she stared at it for several long moments before hesitantly placing her hand in his. It was at that very moment he felt it. Like a thousand tiny electric shocks pulsing through his veins as she wrapped her fingers around his hand. She giggled slightly as she righted herself, spelling the dirt away from her yellow summer robe. She flipped her still slightly bushy hair over her shoulder and laughed once more.

Draco remembered that day as the sunlight began to stream through the window, as the day he fell in love with Hermione Granger. He had never met any one like her, she was bossy, opinionated and beautiful. How could he have not have noticed this in school? He had nursed a slight crush on the Gryffindor after she had slapped him in third year, but that had soon fizzled out when his father had been incarcerated because of her and Potter, or so he thought. He couldn�t believe how wrong he had been.

As he watched her chest rising and falling in slow, shallow breaths, Draco felt like his heart had been torn in two. As the only heir to the Malfoy family, it was his duty to carry on the bloodline, as his father had told him not merely a week ago. He had gone to him to try and call off this sham of a wedding. But Lucius had stood firm while his mother looked on, a knowing look in her eyes. He wanted to please his father, and make him proud, he always had. But this time Draco felt Lucius was asking too much of him. Lucius� answer had been simple, marry Pansy or be disinherited.

He pulled the covers back slowly and crept out of the bed, taking a moment to look at the woman who held his heart. Her face was peaceful and slight smile gracing her lips as her finger curled around the edge of the pillow where his head had had previously lain. His stomach churned as he reached for his clothes and headed to her bathroom. She slept on, oblivious to his anguish.

He quickly dressed and sat down at her kitchen table, and his head fell into his hands. He couldn�t hardly breathe as his chest tightened with grief. He was going to have to leave her. He would never kiss her again, never touch her, or make love to her. He knew it would be best for her, if he just left now. He reached for a spare sheet of parchment and a quill and wrote her a note. He couldn�t face her, seeing her cry more tears for him would break him even more than he was now. She deserved better than him, she deserved babies, marriage and anything she so desired. But he couldn�t give her that, he had a duty to his family.

It was with a heavy heart that Draco pulled on his robe and apparated away to the Manor.

Hermione woke a little after ten am. Her hand drifted to the side that Draco usually slept on and she stilled instantly as she was met with cold empty sheets. Her heart started to beat faster as she turned to look at her door, to find it slightly a-jar. She pulled back her covers and covered her naked body with her silk dressing gown. She peered out into the hallway, praying for any type of signal that Draco was still here, she saw that the door to her kitchen was wide open. She walked into the kitchen only to find a note waiting for her on the table. A soft sob broke free and her hands trembled as she reached for the note. She felt hot tears spill down onto her cheeks as she read his words�.My sweetheart�..My love�..My everything. He was gone�.He was really gone.

Hermione didn�t know exactly when she fell in love with Draco Malfoy, but once she realised it, she felt like she always had. When she looked at him, she didn�t see the spoiled, arrogant boy he had been, but the man he had become. The man she wished she could spend the rest of her life with, the man she wished to be the father of her children. The strong, caring man she had fallen in love with.

When she had found out he was betrothed to Pansy, she had hit the roof. But Draco had told her from the start not to fall in love with him, but nearly a year into their relationship, he had been the one to tell her first, that he loved her. She knew Pansy was besotted with him, it was evident from when they where in school, but Draco insisted he didn�t feel the same way, he never had and he never would. He would never love Pansy like loved her. In a way she almost felt sorry for Pansy, but the memory of Pansy fawning over Draco in the Daily Prophet made her feel more enraged than sorry. She knew Draco had tried to get out of it, several times, but she also knew that once Lucius Malfoy said it was final, it was. At least in Draco�s case it was.

She loved him, that was for sure, but the difference between her and Pansy was the fact that she would let Draco be his own man. Pansy would try to mould Draco into something that Hermione eventually wouldn�t come to recognise. She would see him in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade, and would not be able to see the Draco she had known and loved, and that was what scared her the most. Not only was she losing the man she loved, she was losing half her heart along with him.

She sat down upon her couch and cradled her head in her hands as she started to cry. She couldn�t do anything but as she imagined Draco walking down the aisle, with anyone else except her on his arm. She cried for the memories that they could have made, and the future they could have had. But most of all she cried for the love she lost, she cried for him. She would always hope and pray that one day, they could be together. She had her faith even if she didn�t have anything else.

Draco stood at the top of the aisle, Blaise Zabini, his best man was whispering words of encouragement in his ear as the guest�s started to fill into the gardens of Malfoy Manor. �Just get Parkinson up the duff and then divorce her, Lucius will have his heir and you will be free to shack up with Granger�. Blaise was one of the few people who knew about his relationship with the Gryffindor Muggleborn, and he supported it, in anyway he could.

As the band began to play, Draco felt as if his feet had been kicked out from underneath him. His stomach dropped and he felt as if he needed to be sick. He saw Pansy gliding toward him, dressed in a silver gown, her black hair styled into a severe knot at the top of her head, with a bouquet of pale green roses in her hand. She looked slightly panicked as she took in the expression on his face. He looked as he was going to faint, he was deathly pale and seemed to be swaying slightly. She knew he�d had a stag night last night, but did Zabini need to let him drink that much?!

Draco swallowed hard as she reached the top of the aisle, and was given away by Leonard Parkinson. He took a moment to look at her, she didn�t deserve this, no matter how much he disliked her. He could never love her, he would always love Hermione. He looked toward his father, who seemed to realise Draco was having doubts. He shook his head subtly and looked on. Draco felt as if little beads of perspiration where running down his spine. His hands bunched together as he panicked even more. He couldn�t do it, he couldn�t marry Pansy. He couldn�t break Hermione�s heart like this. He wanted to be with her, Scratch that, he needed to be with her! He knew in his heart she was the one, she had proved it more times than he could remember.

He looked at his mother, who smiled at him and nodded her head, signalling her approval. He turned to Pansy and grasped her hand in his sweaty palms.

�I�m sorry Pansy, I cant do this.� he whispered into her ear.

�Draco, don�t. Please don�t do this to me.� she said, her voice strained and desperate.

�I don�t love you Pans, I love someone else. I need her, I have to be with her.� he said.

�You could learn to love me, please Draco, just let�s get married.� she almost begged.

�I�m sorry.� he said as he turned toward the crowd and said, �There will be no wedding today.�

A shocked gasp rang through the crowd, as everyone looked at the couple who stood at the top of the alter. His father stood, and glared at Draco and Draco knew this was the end for him, as a member of the Malfoy family.

�You know what this means, son.� he said.

�I do, and I accept that you will disinherit me, father.� said Draco.

Draco was standing in his bedroom, on the second floor of his ancestral home. He looked around the room and said goodbye to everything that came with being a Malfoy. Hermione was worth it. There was a light knock on his door, and his mother breezed into the room, with a slight smile on her face.

�I�m very proud of you, Dragon.� she said as she hugged him.

�I love her mum, I love Hermione.� he said as he pulled away.

�I know, Darling. Everything will work out, I know it.� she said as she helped fold his pants.

�Mum, what are you doing?� he asked as he watched her pack his case.

�Helping you, do you not want my help?� she asked.

He smiled and nodded.

�You do remember your inheritance from the Black vaults, don�t you?� she smiled.

�What Black vaults?� he asked, genuinely confused.

�You were the first recognised grandchild of our family, the sole heir. You were given my mother�s vault, when you were born.� she said, as she zipped his case shut.

�Mum�I don�t know what to say�� he said, flabbergasted by his mothers revelation.

�You don�t have to say a word, Dragon. Be happy, live, love, and give me grandchildren.� she smiled, �I�ll talk to your father, he knew this would happen. I told him so.�

�I love you.� he said as he picked up his case, before kissing his mother on the cheek.

�And I you, Draco.� she said as he apparated away.

Draco appeared in Hermione�s living room with a soft pop. She was sleeping, curled up on her couch, her face pressed into a pillow. Her silk dressing down was slightly open, exposing her legs. In her hand was his note.

He walked toward her and kneeled at her side, brushing a lock of hair away from her face. He couldn�t help but be mesmerised by the dash of freckles that were dotted on the top of her nose. He looked at her and couldn�t believe he was really free. Free to love her, and be with her. He had faced his fear and come out of it a different man. He wouldn�t be afraid to show her just how much he loved her, he would shout it from the roof of Gringotts if she asked him to do so.

She moved slightly, turning her face toward Draco. He ran his fingers along the smooth lines of her lips, and her eyes fluttering slightly. He ran his finger down the length of her nose, and her eyes fully opened. Her mouth opened slightly as she looked at him, her bottom lip quivering.

�Draco!� she gasped, �What�How�. You�re here!�

He smiled, �Yes I am, and I�m never ever leaving you again.�

�You called off the wedding?� she asked, still shocked.

�Walked out of it, actually.� he said, still smiling.

�You�re here to stay?� she asked, willing herself not hope he was, and then to be shot down.

�I�ve been disinherited, shamed and kicked out of the Manor by my father and do you know what?� he asked.

�What?� asked Hermione.

�There�s nowhere I�d rather be.� he said as he leaned over and kissed her.
