For severely_lupin who asked for Snape/Marauder interaction. The twist, Severus has somehow gotten himself sorted into Gryffindor. I hope this satisfies.

'Un-fucking-believable!' Severus cursed to himself. 'After everything I have been through this summer, Dumbeldore gets it in his head that my wonky magic is a sign of my spiritual growth. BOLLOCKS! He's just trying to find yet another reason to make my life Hell.�

�I've always believed we sort too soon. At eleven, you're still children, uncertain about who you are, not yet able to realize your full potential. Think of this as an opportunity for growth.�

�How do you expect me to grow in Gryffindor when the leaders of that house despise me? You're using this one fluctuation in my magic as proof that I'm no longer worthy of Slytherin, aren't you?�

Severus was busy packing his things for his exodus from the dungeons. 'Like I haven't suffered enough, now I have to live amongst the enemy. I still can't wrap my mind around the sorting hat's speech it made while on my head.'

Ah! Severus Snape, a Slytherin
The first house you were sorted in
Now it's time to embrace the new
I expect this change will be good for you

Severus felt the bile rise up in his throat as he heard the Headmaster say �You'll move to Gryffindor Tower immediately. As the students have already settled into their dorms, I'll grant you a private room. It will be ready after supper.�

'I never imagined I could despise anyone more than Black and his cronies' he thought. 'The Headmaster now holds that distinction.'

Thankfully the dorm was empty as Severus made his way to the private room reserved for a Gryffindor Head Student. It was no longer in use as the Head Boy and Girl now shared quarters separate from their houses.

He arranged his meager possessions in his new room, which surprisingly wasn't swimming in the Gryffindor colors. Had it not been for the very fact that it was Gryffindor, Severus thought he could probably be rather happy there. His thoughts were interrupted when he ran into the banes of his existence coming through the portrait hole as he was headed to the prefect's bathroom.

�What the Hell?� sneered Sirius. �A snake in the lion's den? I'd never thought you'd be that stupid Snivellus.�

�How did you get in Snape? Which first year did you threaten for the password?� James questioned, his eyes boring a hole into Severus.

�You are really are blind and thick, aren't you? What color is my tie? What house does this badge on my robe represent? I don't have time for your ignorance. I'm on my out.�

�It's not possible. Dumbledore wouldn't...� Remus began, clearly astonished at the random turn of events.

�I assure you, he did� Severus said solemnly, as if he was accepting this was his lot in life.

�How wonderful� Lily beamed. �It could be a fresh start for all of us. This changes everything!�

�This changes nothing!� Severus snapped. �I am not prone to the sickening tendency to forgive and forget. Tragic circumstances may have altered how I view the world as a whole, but nothing short of a decree from Merlin himself would ever allow me to be friends with any of you. Contrary to the values of this house, none of you know the meaning of the term chivalry. Each of you obviously lack a code of honor when you treated me so abominably before, and now you expect me to accept it as water under the bridge.�

Peter, sniveling rodent that his animagus reflected, for once said nothing. He didn't want to be caught in the cross hairs of Snape's wand.

Lily reached out to touch Severus' arm. �You don't mean that� Lily said, more to reassure herself than to make a statement of fact.

Severus' eyes hardened as he jerked away from her touch. �And here I thought blind loyalty was a Hufflepuff trait. Your fierce loyalty to your house and your intolerance of anyone different than yourselves makes me sick! If that's a requirement for being in Gryffindor, then you can shove your house up your collective arses. I'll never try to conform to anyone's ideals of what constitutes a perfect world or what might be best for me. All that did for my mother was get her killed in the end. Never again will I allow someone to dictate anything to me. NEVER!� Severus vowed before he stormed away from the stunned group.
