Author's note: This is my very first story that I'm uploading to this site! It is one that I am also doing an RP with my friend on our rp site, and since I've never uploaded anything here before, I'd thought I'd give a go! C&C is greatly appreciated. I hope you all enjoy it(: I didn't know whether to add all of the warning contents for later chapters on this post or not, so I did anyways just as a precaution. Not all of them apply to this first chapter, but will in later ones!

Chapter 1 - Finding Harry
The war was over. Voldemort won.
I couldn't believe what I saw when the final battle at Hogwarts was nearing an end. Ron, Ginny, Neville, and everyone else, including myself, believed that Harry would pull through and destroy the Dark Lord once and for all.
We were mistaken.
I put my absolute faith in Harry 'til the very end, but that faith dwindled down to almost nothing when he fled from the battle. I never thought that Harry was a coward, so still to this day I feel that he must have a reason for apparating and not being heard from for a year.
Most of those who had fought against Voldemort had perished, either that day at Hogwarts, or after being tortured by the Dark Lord himself until death.
Ronald, Ginny, and I have evaded capture for a year now, and continue to be on the run.
We have traveled all over Europe, searching for Harry. Never have we found any clues to his whereabouts, but we still continued on searching.
After combing throughout all of Europe, we moved to Africa, Asia, Australia, and now the Americas. South America didn't take us long to go through, but we were finding North America the hardest place to look.
We almost never came across a nice American. They were always giving us dirty looks, and whisperings whenever we passed by.
No one was willing to help us. Not even the muggles were willing to help out. It seemed like everyone knew of the Dark Lord's victory over England. Or, they heard news that England had fallen into the hands of a dictator who, with his loyal followers, overthrew Parliament. The Americans, whether magical or non-magical, nevertheless avoided us at all costs.
We traveled all over the west coast, and rocky mountain areas of the United States, and still no sign of Harry.
Currently we were residing outside of a small town in Montana.
"Hermione, not that I'm tired or anything, but don't you think we should at least settle in one place for a while instead of hopping across the world every other day?" Ronald said as he walked into the tent.
"No, we can't settle anywhere until we find Harry. We need to figure out why he left. Aren't you concerned for him at all? We can't give up now, after all we've been through this past year! What if You-Know-Who is also searching for him, and if we slack off now, finds him before us? How could you live with yourself?" I challenged back at him.
He piped down and took his seat on his cot. I knew he was worried about his best mate, but sometimes I wondered if he truly wanted to find him.
We also had to go back to referring Voldemort as You-Know-Who due to the fact that the taboo placed on the name was still active. We found that out back when we were in China. Ginny mentioned his name and four Death Eaters popped out of nowhere.
A couple of days went by without any news about Harry's whereabouts. I could see the hope in Ginny's eyes disappearing each day since we left England. We apparated out of Montana and ended up in Florida. Ron wondered why we'd taken such a huge leap from one part of the country to the next.
"I came here once with my parents for the summer. We stayed at a resort hotel just outside of Disney World. We went to Disney every day for two weeks. I was only seven, but I still remember how great it was. I told Harry about it back when we were traveling around looking for the Horcruxes. He had asked me about if I were to travel the world, what places I would go to. Florida was one of those places."
I watched as Ginny and Ron nodded.
Ginny suggested to me in private that we should take up this opportunity to relive my childhood at Disney for the time being. I told her it wasn't going to help us find Harry, but she insisted that we take a break from all of the traveling. She said that I was stressing far too much over this whole ordeal, and that I, more than them, needed to settle down and take a breather. She said that we just need to try to enjoy ourselves, and that we could continue searching for Harry later.
I tried to reason with her, and tell her the same thing I told Ron, but she just smiled at me and said that when the time is right, something good will come our way. I smiled back and, reluctantly, gave in.
The next day, we purchased tickets to the Magic Kingdom for the next four days, and arrived right when the park was opening.
I had not been to Disney since that time when I was seven, and seeing all of the changes and everything else that was still the same, brought back fond memories of being with my parents. I missed them so much, but I knew I could never see them again. After I had obliviated me from their memories, I had seen them once, and they had another child. It saddened me, but at the same time, I was happy that they were happy.
We were standing in line for The Haunted Mansion. Ginny was repeating Harry's looks over and over out loud to me and Ron, as if she were trying to make sure she, or either of us, didn't forget what he looked like. It pained me to see her like this. It was like she was losing part of her soul.
A young man approached us, a Disney employee. He was dressed in a butler’s costume, so I assumed he was working this ride.
He greeted us kindly with a smile, and said, “I’m sorry to intrude on your conversation, but I couldn’t help overhearing the description of a friend of yours. I’ve seen the guy you’re describing. He’s been coming here for the past four days. Haven’t seen him today, but he was here yesterday. Got a funny lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead.”
The three of us were momentarily stunned as we stared at this guy. He had seen Harry! Harry was here, in Florida! Or at least, he had been for the past four days! Progress at last! I couldn’t help but feel a bit excited on the inside.
“The three of you seem a bit gloomy. Seems like you need some pixie dust too,” he said and tapped his wand over our heads, releasing golden dust particles on us. Immediately I felt in a lighter mood. I recognized the spell at once. It was a spell created by none other than Walt Disney himself. Pixi Dox, also known as the spell that creates happiness by sprinkling what looks like fairy dust on someone. It usually works best with children.
Ginny was the first to speak up by asking, “So…you’ve seen our friend, Harry?”
“Yes,” he said, “he’s been coming to Magic Kingdom for the past four days, and has come to this ride each day, multiple times. On the first day we struck up a conversation about where he was from, and then eventually he told me about how one of his best friends had come here when she was a child.”
I felt my cheeks heat up. Harry did remember. Maybe he was traveling to places I mentioned to him.
The guy noticed my blush and smiled. “I assume he was speaking of you miss.” I could only nod.
Ron looked from me to the guy and then asked, “So you haven’t seen him at all today? Do you think he will show up here again?”
“I’m not sure,” he said, “He didn’t say whether he was coming back or not, but I would assume that he might come back. He said he had bought 5 days worth of tickets, and today would be his fifth and final day, but he said he didn’t know if he would use the tickets or not. If you don’t mind me asking, was he missing, and is that why you seem desperate to find him?”
Ron opened and closed his mouth a couple of times before looking away, almost like he didn’t know how to answer the question.
“In a way, yes he’s been missing. We’ve been traveling to find him.” I kept my answer vague. Even though this guy wasn’t giving off any negative vibes to me, doesn’t mean that I trusted him.
“I see. Well, I’m getting off work in a few minutes. Perhaps, I can join you around the park to look for him?” I stared into his eyes for a moment, and could see that his smile went all the way to them. He was being sincere in wanting to help us, so I nodded and he told us to meet him at the back of Cinderella’s Castle in twenty minutes.
“Are you sure we can trust him, ‘Mione?” Ron looked at me with doubt in his eyes.
“I’m not sure, but he seems pretty sincere on helping us find Harry. I think we can trust him for the time being,” I said with confidence.
“Well, if we look and don’t find Harry, we should be grateful that we now have information about his whereabouts. He was here,” Ginny said. Ron and I nodded in agreement and I could see the hope returning to Ginny’s eyes. It was good news that Harry was doing okay, but if he did not return here today, then he could have apparated anywhere. If that were the case, we’d be back to square one.
During the twenty minute wait, we were able to ride The Haunted Mansion ride as well as It’s a Small World. After that ride, however, Ron was most annoyed and exclaimed that he never wanted to go on that ride, or hear that song, ever again. Ginny and I just laughed and sang the song to him, teasing of course.
The time soon came, and we waited for the man at the back of the castle. Once he arrived, we walked up to him, and he said, “Hello. I haven't seen your friend yet. If I were him though, I wouldn't waste a ticket to Disney, I'm sure he'll come eventually. Oh, how rude of me, I never formally introduced myself. My name is Aaron Parker.” He smiled and held out his hand for each of us to shake.
“My name is Hermione Granger, and this is Ginny and Ron Weasley.” I returned his smile as I shook his hand.
“Nice to meet you.” He sat down at a fountain.
Ginny perked up then and said, “So, Harry was here, did he ever specify or mention what he was doing?”
Aaron shook his head. “No, I’m afraid not. I never bothered to ask him any real personal questions.”
“That’s alright, I was only curious. We haven’t seen him in over a year.”
“Oh?” Aaron’s eyebrows raised, and his chin leaned on his hand.
Ginny nodded. “You see…a year ago, something happened, and he…ran off and then disapparated altogether. We have been searching for him ever since.”
I could see something glint in Ginny’s eyes. She was about trying not to expose too many details, but I could see that she wanted to tell him everything. She exchanged a look with Ron and I, and I knew instantly she could trust him- that we could trust him.
Aaron looked at us, puzzled. “I see, I’m sorry I couldn’t be much help.”
“It’s alright,” I said. “Do you know anything about what’s going on over in England right now?”
He looked up at me and said, “Only some rumors. I’ve heard of a Dark Lord overthrowing the Ministry of Magic, and then I’ve heard that the same Lord, with the help of his followers, have also overthrown the Muggle Parliament.”
I nodded and asked, “Do you know anything about the Dark Lord? Or anything pertaining to him?”
“I’ve heard about how there was supposed to be some kid who was the only one who could defeat him. I’ve never heard any names before though.”
I shot a glance towards Ron and Ginny. Both of them seemed a little alarmed that Aaron knew this, but at the same time, were relieved they didn’t know it was Harry that was the boy to assume the defeat of Voldemort.
“Are you…followers of the Dark Lord?” Aaron took our silence the wrong way. I quickly shook my head.
“No. No, we’re on the side fighting against him.” I assured him that we were not here to harm him or anyone else. He seemed to calm back down.
“Okay. I wouldn’t want any trouble here, so I needed to ask that,” he said rather shyly.
“Don’t worry about it.” I smiled and rested my hand on his shoulder as reassurance. He smiled back.
“We should probably get going, so we can look around for Harry,” Ron spoke up with a cough. I felt my cheeks flush and dropped my hand to my side. The rest of us nodded in agreement and set off to look around the park.
We walked around the entire of Magic Kingdom, twice, before we gave up trying to find Harry and just enjoyed riding the rides. When we made our way back to the Haunted Mansion ride, we were waiting in line when someone ahead of us caught my eye.
Black hair and glasses, with an aura of magic around him. That’s all I needed to push my way passed the crowd of people in line. Sure, there might be thousands of different wizards in the magical world with black hair and glasses, but this particular wizard had struck my interest. His magical aura was familiar, too familiar.
People mumbled complaints about me pushing my way through the line, but I disregarded them. Ron, Ginny, and Aaron were following behind me.
When I reached my destination, I grabbed a hold of the man’s shoulders and swiveled him around to face me. I was right.
I heard Ginny and Ron gasp behind me. Then, before I could open my mouth, Ginny rushed passed me and hugged the man in front of me. After a moment, she let go.
I glowered at him and said coldly, "You have a lot of explaining to do, Harry Potter."
