Disclaimer: I do not own HP, JK Rowling does. I just use her charachters for a bit and then give them back relatively unscathed. I make no money doing this, else I might have a couple of nickles to my name. |
AN: Hello everyone. I needed a break and figured that writing a bit of smut was just what the doctor ordered. Don't worry, I haven't abandoned my other story. This was originally supposed to be a PWP done as a present for my friend who was so kind to stay up with me until impossible hours while I finished my thesis. However, a bit of plot might have slipped in there so this is officially a oneshot. So, here you go G. I hope it is at least a little of what you wanted. Enjoy.
“Three drops of bat’s blood.” Hermione muttered, blowing a stray strand of hair out of her face. “Stir three times counterclockwise.”
Hermione counted her stirs and then let the potion rest for five minutes just as it instructed her to in the text. She sat back and wiped her brow with her sleeve. This was hour five of an all-day marathon that she’d gotten herself into. Still, she found she was happiest here in the dungeons with a bubbling potion.
Hogwarts had been reopened in the fall after the Final Battle and the fall of Lord Voldemort. The magical community banded together and mended the battered castle in record time. All the seventh years from the previous year had returned for a special “eighth year” so they could finish their NEWTs. In reality, it was more of a tutor/mentor arrangement than a regular classroom. The students were evaluated in small groups to be caught up in what they needed to pass their exams.
There were no houses, no prefects, and no curfews for the eighth years. They were allowed to come and go as they pleased so long as they showed up to their tutoring sessions and didn’t disrupt the other students. Of course, under the special circumstances, the eighth years also got a privilege that no class before them had. They were able to start an apprenticeship right away. Most, like Harry, chose the “interesting” subjects like Defense Against the Dark Arts. Transfiguration and Charms were popular on the list too. She was one of only two who had chosen potions.
No one understood why she’d chosen that path. Severus Snape might have fought on the side of light and barely escaped death by the skin of his teeth, but he was still a foul tempered greasy git and no one wanted to be near him. Harry himself had testified on the Potion Master’s behalf, giving over just enough of Snape’s memories to clear him without revealing more of his past than necessary. It was a kindness really. Snape, true to his form though, only muttered ‘thank you’ as he breezed past Harry and apparated away as soon as he’d left the ministry.
They couldn’t know how soothing creating a potion was to Hermione. The directions were in front of her. All she had to do was follow them. No one cast hexes at her. She didn’t have to risk getting hit with one. Her finger briefly came up to her neck where she traced the barely perceptible scar that Bellatrix had gifted her with in Malfoy Manor.
“I’m sorry.” Malfoy whispered in her ear as he touched her shoulder, causing her to jump back.
“What?” Hermione asked, wide eyed and panting.
“I’m sorry.” Malfoy said a bit louder, moving away from her. “There wasn’t, I couldn’t, I tried.” He stammered. “I’m just sorry, alright?”
Hermione relaxed minutely and nodded. Malfoy had turned a new leaf when he’d come back, one of only a handful of Slytherins to do so. He was the other potions apprentice. It was the third month back and he’d managed to apologize to her every day since the first. He usually blurted it out the second she rubbed her scar. It was a subconscious movement to be sure but she could see the self-loathing in his eyes every time he witnessed her do it. She’d come to forgive him when she realized his apologies were sincere.
“Malfoy, how many times must you apologize? I accept.”
“As many as it takes.” He whispered.
“Until?”
“I forgive myself.” He said softly.
Hermione gave him a sympathetic nod. She understood all too well how guilt could eat a person alive. She lived with it every day. “Shouldn’t you be meeting Luna?” She asked, noticing it was lunch time.
“Oh shite!” Draco shouted and hastily put a stasis charm on his cauldron. “Thanks Granger!” He called as he raced out the door.
Hermione chuckled. It was clear that Malfoy was head over heels for Luna. It had shocked the entire school when they first started dating. Luna was the first person he’d apologized to. Luna, in her serene nature, forgave him instantly. She and Hermione had a very long talk Hermione’s first week back. It seemed that Malfoy had been slipping her and Ollivander extra food and nourishing potions when he was ordered to take care of them. That was when she first felt her anger for the arrogant blond prat slip. Seeing his transformation over the next few months solidified it.
Her five minutes was up and she read the next step. “One pinch of powdered bicorn horn.” She mused and added it. The potion turned a sparkling red and she grinned. This was how she preferred to spend her time. “Now 1 stir clockwise and let rest for another five minutes.” She followed the instructions to the letter and sat back to watch it bubble.
“Mione!” Ron yelled as he careened through the door of the potions classroom. “There you are!”
Hermione jumped nearly six inches off the ground with fright. “Damn it Ronald. How many times must I tell you not to come barging in like that. What if I had been in the middle of adding an ingredient? I could have blown us all up!”
“Naw, you’re much too brilliant for that Mione.” Ron said with a goofy grin on his face as he grabbed her arm. “Time for lunch! Let’s go, I’m starving!”
Hermione shook her head in amusement at his antics. Ron hadn’t changed, not really. He was still the same goofy loveable Ron. Only, she didn’t love him like that anymore. There was a time when she would have given anything to have him look at her like he did now. Circumstances change though, people grow up and he just wasn’t what she wanted anymore. She’d tried to distance herself and let him down gently, even going so far as to tell him flat out no to dating. Ron was stubborn though, insisting she just needed a bit more time. She didn’t have the heart to tell him that there was someone else who made her blood boil just thinking about him.
“Why don’t you go on without me okay? I’ve still got another five or six steps to go. I’ll drop by and grab something if I finish in time.” She said, pulling out of his grasp and laying a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“Alright Mione,” Ron sighed dejectedly. “You study too much, you know that?”
Hermione giggled. “Some of us actually care about our grades Ronald. You might try it sometime.”
“Nah.” Ron said, wrinkling his nose. “Harry and I are practically shoo ins for aurors. We just have to pass our NEWTs.”
“And those NEWTs include potions if I’m not mistaken.” Hermione grinned.
Ron groaned and mockingly held his forehead and stomach as if he was violently ill. “You kill me sometimes.”
“Yes well, I’m sure if you get something to eat you’ll feel better in no time.” Hermione chuckled.
“Probably right. See ya Mione!” Ron said and grabbed her in a bear hug. The force of it surprised Hermione and she teetered dangerously on her feet. Ron let go and she regained her balance but her hair fell out of the tight bun she’d wound it into.
Suddenly, a hand grasped her hair and gave it a firm yank. She had to bite back a moan at the feeling. “Miss Granger.” Snape hissed into her ear. “If you insist on keeping this unruly mop you call hair, then you need to get it out of the way. You were one step away from blowing us all to kingdom come!”
“S-s-sorry P-p-professor S-snap-pe.” She whimpered. “I just l-lost m-my balance.”
“Clumsiness is not a trait of a future potions master. If you are to become one, you had best learn.” He snapped and yanked her hair one more time, his eyes flickering when he saw her bite her lip. “Weasley!” He growled, dragging Hermione back and away from the cauldron. “If you insist on thrusting yourself upon Miss Granger, you had best not do it in my classroom! Get OUT!” He barked.
Ron paled and backed out of the room. He might not have been a student anymore, but Snape was still down right terrifying. He almost fell over a few desks before he made it out the door. Snape slammed it shut and locked it with is wand. Then he placed a silencing charm over the room and turned to stare at Hermione.
“What did you think you were doing?” He hissed, his eyes narrowed to tiny slits.
“I was brewing a potion.” She said in a small voice, her eyes lowered to the floor, curls cascading down her back and over her shoulders. “He startled me.”
“Potion masters do not. Get. Startled.” He snapped.
“I’m sorry sir.” She said, her tone a bit breathy.
“I’m afraid that sorry isn’t going to cut it this time.” He drawled in a low tone, his voice promising punishment. “Place a stasis over your cauldron and meet me in my chambers.” With that last bit of instruction, he swept from the room.
Hermione’s heart leapt into her throat at the command. She shakily walked over to her potion and made sure it hadn’t been compromised. Satisfied that all was well, she cast a stasis with a trembling hand. She was in for it now. As she began the long walk to the Snape’s chambers, she reflected on the first time she’d done so.
It was right after the war. Snape had needed to stay in St. Mungo’s for a few weeks before they finally released him. His home at Spinner’s End destroyed by rogue death eaters, he’d ended up staying at the castle until his court date. She didn’t know why, but she’d felt the need to go and see him, to apologize for the way she’d acted. He wasn’t happy with her arrival, to say the least. Terse words were exchanged but she saw a change in his cold eyes when she’d told him she’d always admired him. It was funny what one act of random kindness could lead to.
Her thoughts brought her to the classroom entrance to his chambers. She knocked timidly.
“Enter.” He drawled.
She carefully opened the door and shuffled in, making sure to close it behind her. She’d only made it a few steps inside when his voice stopped her cold.
“Kneel.”
She hit her knees on the luxurious tan carpet, a rather surprising feature in Snape’s chambers. This furniture was sparse but upscale, the epitome of comfort and minimalism combined. She had these rooms memorized, down to the titles of the books in his shelves and their placement.
“You disobeyed me.” He cut through her thoughts.
She lowered her head even further. “I didn’t mean to.”
“Didn’t mean to what?”
“I didn’t mean to… Master.” She whispered.
“What didn’t you mean to do? You must be clear. Did you mean to almost ruin your potion or let that insolent thick skulled dunderhead touch you?” He hissed.
“Neither Master.” Hermione said pleadingly, not daring to look up into the angry onyx orbs of the Potions Master. “He caught me off guard.”
“So he forced your hand to land upon his shoulder. This is what you are telling me?” He asked incredulously.
“No.” Hermione said miserably. “I just, well he grabbed my arm and I know you don’t like that so I took my hand out of his grasp and I placed it on his shoulder to both distance myself and to keep it from being obvious that I was trying to get away.”
“What are my rules?” Snape drawled slowly.
Hermione gulped. “No one is to touch me in an intimate manner other than my master.”
“And you let TWO wizards touch you today.” He growled.
Her jaw dropped when she realized he’d been watching her the whole time. Then again, he was always watching her. She sighed. “Malfoy was merely apologizing to me again. It wasn’t an intimate touch.”
“Fine then. You are forgiven for that one but do stay on your guard. You could have easily ruined the potion. For that indiscretion, you will be punished. Moving on.”
“I didn’t want Ron to touch me. It just happened.” She said miserably.
“Are you a witch or not.” Snape growled in disgust.
“Yes.” Her lips trembled. A tear rolled down her face.
“Why not hex him?” He snapped.
Hermione hung her head in shame. She hadn’t been able to admit to anyone that she couldn’t cast complicated charms anymore. Her magic was too out of control since the battle to cast much more than a simple stasis and even that was difficult. It was humiliating to not be in control anymore. There was only one thing that made her better and he was standing in front of her, seething.
He roughly jerked her head up to look at him. Horrified amber met a fury enflamed onyx and she felt a push at her conscious mind. Suddenly, understanding flickered into his eyes and he knelt down to be at eye level with her. “You can’t” He said slowly.
She jerked her head out of his hands and lowered it as far as it could go. “No.” She croaked out. “I don’t understand.”
Snape refused to let her speak to the floor and raised her head again. He scrutinized her for numerous minutes before nodded. “Your magic is out of control because you have not properly dealt with your emotions.”
“That doesn’t explain everything.” She said softly and he cocked his head to the side in question. “There is one thing that helps.” She said miserably.
Snape gave her a cruel smirk. “I see.”
“Why?” Hermione asked in anguish.
“Because when you give up control, your emotions are all that’s left.” He said as he grabbed her hair in a tight wad and yanked harshly.
She cried out in pain and pleasure, already feeling the beginning signs of arousal. It was always like this. The first time had been an accident. He’d yanked her hair out of the way just before it managed to fall into the cauldron she was working over. It was only a week into the new school year and she was staying late to finish up a few potions.
Her whimper of pleasure caused him to pause. He’d pulled again, much harder but not quite as suddenly and she was unable to hold back her moans. He’d lost himself, overcome with lust and taken her right there on the floor. He was ashamed and apologetic afterwards but she’d told him to save it. She’d never experienced such passion before and couldn’t bring herself to regret it. They’d never looked back.
Here they were, three months later and still just as wary around each other as the first time. He pulled her hair again, sharply this time. The nerve endings sent jolts of pleasure straight to her core. She felt her nipples starting to harden with arousal.
Smirking, Snape pulled her up by her hair and roughly pushed her against the wall, devouring her mouth like a starving man. She was lost to his powerful onslaught, opening her lips to let his tongue plunder her mouth. His smell invaded her nostrils, sandalwood and smoke. His mouth tasted like the rich chocolate he preferred and something distinctly Snape.
He pulled back with a sharp nip to her bottom lip, earning a frustrated whimper from her. Smirking, he grabbed her head and drug her back to the center of the room, making sure to pull her hair a sharply a few times. She cried out, begging for more. He forced her to her knees and stepped back. With a flick of his wand, her clothes vanished.
She cried out in indignation. “I’m not going to have any clothes left!” She yelled.
“SILENCE!” He bellowed. “Your clothes have merely been sent to the house elves to be laundered. Now, what should we do with you?” He drawled, stalking around her like a cat that’d just cornered a mouse. “You disobeyed me. That deserves a harsh punishment. You’ve also spoken out of turn. Whatever shall we do?”
Hermione whimpered in anticipation. She enjoyed the games he played with her and usually hated herself for it. But here, now, she couldn’t bring herself to care. All that mattered was that he touch her soon. She was going to go crazy!
Nodding his head at something, he conjured several lengths of soft rope in Slytherin green. “I know exactly what I’m going to do with you. What is your word?”
“Asphodel.” Hermione squeaked.
Snape nodded and advanced on her. “Stand.”
She complied readily, trembling like a leaf. They’d just started playing these games a few weeks ago after Snape saw her and Ron locked in an embrace in the potions classroom one day. He’d nearly gone mad with rage and jealousy, tying her hands behind her back and taking her roughly over his desk after paddling her bum and proclaiming that she was his. His.
Her eyes slid closed as she felt him twist her hair into a tight ponytail and braid one of the lengths of rope through it. The sensations of her hair in such a tight do were delicious. She sighed as his fingers trailed along her spine and around to her abdomen. His hands were like pure sin and she couldn’t get enough of them. Suddenly, he brought one of the lengths around her neck and put gentle pressure on her windpipe. She cried out in fright and shock.
He loosened the rope and licked the shell of her ear. “Remember your word. You must give up all control. Now, walk.”
“W-w-where?” She stammered.
“To the classroom of course.” He chuckled and she froze.
“No.” She breathed.
“So ashamed of me.” He said bitterly.
“No!” She said, much stronger than before. “You’ll be fired.”
“No concern for what your friends think then?” He drawled, gently nipping at the juncture of her neck and shoulder.
“Hang them.” She whimpered. “They’ll get over it. I just don’t want you to get in trouble.”
“We’re both adults Hermione.” He said, his low baritone causing her to shiver. “Now, walk.”
She stumbled across his chambers and back into the classroom, her nipples stiffening in the frigid air. He brought her to a stop in the middle of the classroom, hastily clearing the tables and chairs with his wand. Then he waved it in an intricate pattern and a hook appeared in the air. Her eyes widened in fear. Sensing her trepidation, he gently caressed her collar bone until she practically purred.
Slowly, he twisted the ropes over her body. One loop around her neck, dozens framing her breasts and brought around to a complicated braid in the back. Then he made her bend over and place her hands on her feet. Wrist to ankles, elbows to calves, he bound them together in beautiful elaborate knots. Hermione was meserized as she watched him work. Those long fingers were masterful in their quest. The ropes were tight but not horribly uncomfortable. She felt herself becoming horribly aroused by the sensual way Snape handled the lengths of rope.
His low chuckle caused her stomach to flip flop. “If I didn’t know better, I’d say you enjoyed this.” He said softly as he ran his fingers down her spine. “You enjoy giving up your rigid control.” He continued as he drew his fingers down the crack of her arse and jutting sharply to the left so he wouldn’t brush against the one place she was dying for him to touch.
She whimpered pitifully, knowing better than to answer him. “It’s not surprising.” He said, suddenly leaving and walking over to his desk to grab yet another length of rope. He meticulously folded it while he spoke. “You’ve been the voice of reason, the planner, and the one who others looked to your entire life since you entered the magical world. Other’s looked to you to save their pathetic lives after they dug themselves into a hole. You’ve never been a follower, were never allowed to just let go and let someone else have control.”
A tear fell down her cheek and hit the floor. It was true. For so long, she’d carried the weight of the war on her shoulders. She could never relax; never trust someone else to do the work for her. It was her burden and she accepted it stoically. Now, no one truly needed her help anymore. Oh, they still expected her to do the dirty work, spend hours researching topics and then give them the answers. It infuriated her but she’d done it for so long that it had become second nature.
Snape’s baritone voice, like dark chocolate and liquid sex, cut through her thoughts. “I am the opposite you know. I was never allowed control over my own life, let alone others. I’m sure Potter told you of my pathetic upbringing.” He spat, bitterness clear in his voice. “I served two masters for over half my life. I didn’t even have the power to refuse the order to kill one of them.” His voice cracked. Shaking his head, he stalked over to her.
He placed the now folded rope at her upper thighs and pulled them up to her lower back. She could feel his expert hands weaving the braids together on her back. His concentration was like an aphrodisiac. She trembled with want and apprehension at what was to come next. He’d never tied more than her hands together before.
She thought she might have understood why they were so good together now. It wasn’t a physical attraction at first. His sallow skin, greasy hair, and hooked nose were almost as off-putting as his harsh demeanor. However, after she’d been in such close proximity to him, she realized it was just his way of setting walls around himself. He’d never had control and she’d always had it. Switching roles was more than therapeutic for both of them, it was downright explosive.
He stepped back and walked around her, admiring his handy work. “Beautiful,” he breathed. With a flick of his wand, she was suddenly lifted up by the ropes and suspended from the hook in the ceiling. The ropes tightened around her breasts, one pulled at her hair, a faint tug was at her neck and she felt the ropes at her thighs slip a bit.
“Wait!” She screamed, truly frightened now.
“No.” He said firmly. “Who is in control here?”
“Y-y-you are master.” She stammered.
“Do you trust me?” He asked, a hint of doubt in his voice.
“Yes master.” She said, trying hard not to hyperventilate.
He nodded. “Good. Now,” he drawled as he walked behind her. “You have been a very naughty pet. You broke the one rule I have given you. Granted, I have been extremely lenient since you are just learning but I find I am at the end of my patience. Perhaps I should remind you exactly who you belong to?”
CRACK!
Hermione cried out in shock as his bare hand struck the right side of her bum. It didn’t necessarily hurt but it stung and it had startled her. He brought his hand to rub the rising pink mark and hummed in pleasure. He slapped the other side quickly and then rubbed it, humming his approval.
“Who do you belong to?”
“Y-OU!” She screamed as he brought his hand down over her bare bum twice in secession.
“Address me properly.” He snapped and smacked her bum another for, making sure to never strike the same place twice.
“You Master!” She squeaked.
Snape spanked her soundly, making his way down to her thighs. Every now and then, he’d stop to admire the blushing pink on her bum. “What is the one rule I gave you?”
Hermione was on the verge of sobbing, the pain and pleasure of the spanking combined with the tugging of the ropes going straight to her core and making it clench with desire. “No other shall touch me intimately except you Master.” She said in a wavering voice.
“And you disobeyed me.” He said in a deadly tone. She saw him conjure a leather covered paddle out of the corner of her eye. She squeaked in fear. He rubbed the cool leather over her reddened skin to soothe it. “You shall receive ten swats for your disobedience and you will count them.” He said softly.
“Yes master.” She said sadly.
CRACK! The first blow hit directly in the center of her bum and caused her to cry out. It was much harder than his hand and the leather, although softer, made it sting worse. “One.” She cried.
CRACK! The second low hid lower than the first, gracing the crease at her thighs and caused a pleasurable tingle to run up her spine and down her toes. “Two.” She sniffled, mortified to feel her wetness start to leak onto her thighs.
Again and again he brought the paddle down and she counted, barely able to whisper when the last one hit her right over her center. “Good girl.” He said in a soothing tone as he set down the paddle and caressed her bum. “You’ve taken your punishment well.” He took a deep breath and inhaled her scent. It had to be thick because her wetness now coated her thighs. Then, with one single tender kiss to the middle of her back, he flicked his wand to remove the privacy charms on the room.
“Wait, no!” She cried, noticing what he’d done. He merely turned and raised a single eyebrow. “Someone could walk in Master.” She squeaked.
“That is the point.” He said simply as he walked back across the room and sat behind his desk.
She trembled in fear and started struggling in her binds. What would happen if someone were to walk in and see her like this, trussed up and panting like a whore? What would they think? Would they disown her? What about Snape? Would he lose his job? She struggled harder as he merely watched her with his unreadable dark eyes.
Struggling was futile and in a few moments, she was exhausted and out of breath. The knots were too tight and if she moved too much more, they’d start cutting into her tender flesh. She found that the little element of fear thrilled her. She shivered again, not because of the cold air in the dungeons but from excitement and anticipation. The thought that her secret would be exposed filled her with both dread and happiness. She was so tired of carrying around her guilt. Finally just tired of it all, she surrendered and hung limply, sobbing.
A few minutes later, a warm hand stroked her cheek. “Well done. You’ve finally surrendered to your emotions.” Snape whispered and kissed her tenderly. She gave herself over to the kiss immediately; wanting nothing more than for him to take complete control and think for her for once.
Sensing the change, he pulled away and lowered her to the ground. He took his time undoing the ropes and massaging her aching limbs. She hadn’t realized that they’d started to go numb. When the last of the ropes had been removed, he helped her up. She stood shakily and lowered her head in shame. She couldn’t believe she had broken down so completely.
“Don’t!” He ordered sharply. Startled, she looked back at him. “Don’t let yourself return to that place. I am your Master. I will take care of you. There is no need to feel ashamed in front of me.” She eyed him warily, unsure of his motives.
Grunting in disapproval, he slammed his lips over hers. He picked her up and carried her over to his desk. With one arm, he cleared everything off of it and spun her around to bend over it. The cool wood felt amazing against her tear streaked face. The edge bit into her hips but she couldn’t bring herself to care. “You are mine.” He growled and spread her legs, fingering her a moment to test her readiness and hissing when he felt her dripping for him. She heard the zip of his trousers and the rustle of his robes.
“I always take care of what is mine.” To accentuate his point, he thrust roughly into her, burying himself to the hilt in one stroke.
Hermione keened, the feeling of fullness overcoming her senses. She finally felt complete, the empty aching feeling gone and replaced with a different one. He drew back and slammed into her once again. Over and over, he slammed into her. The wood bit into her tender skin and increased the sensations. She felt the bubble in her stomach start to grow and expand, her breath stuttering with anticipation. Suddenly, he pulled out and grabbed both her arms.
“I didn’t say you could come yet!” He growled and bound her hands behind her. Then he grabbed her hair and drug her up to him, making her back arch. He bit down on her shoulder, causing her to cry out. “You will only come when I say so.” He commanded and thrust back into her again. This new angle caused him to hit a new spot and jolts of pleasure to shot through her body. She screamed in pleasure.
“That’s it. Let go.” He growled into her ear as he thrust into her again and again. “Let everything go, lose control for me.” He whispered as he swiveled his hips. She started to protest but he snapped her head back towards him. “I’m here,” he whispered. “Let your magic out. Feel it flow through your veins. I’m here.”
Tears started streaming down her face as she slowly let go of all her pent up magic. She felt it coursing through her veins, static flickering through her fingers and sending jolts to both herself and a still thrusting Snape. He never slowed, never let up, never let her think. She felt the bubble of pleasure forming to a fever pitch again, determined not to let it go until he commanded it. It was exquisite torture, to let someone else control her actions.
“That’s it.” He growled. “Open your eyes!” He commanded.
She hadn’t realized that she’d let them fall shut. When she opened them, she gasped in shock. Every loose item in the room was now suspended in air. Wind whipped through the room although there were no windows and the door was firmly locked. She saw her skin glowing, magic crackling from her pores. Snape unbound her hands and she brought them in front of her, shocked to see that his magic was crackling as well, mixing with hers and causing mini shocks to whip through her body. She was almost at her peak, unable to think of anything else other than holding back.
“COME!” He yelled and she let go, let everything go. He slammed into her a few more times and stiffened as his yell answered her cries of ecstasy. It was like nothing she’d ever felt before. The overwhelming pleasure mixed with the rush of power consumed her. It felt like she’d left her body. Suddenly, the darkness consumed her and the world fell silent.
-----------------------------
Her eyes flickered open to see the ceiling of the dungeon classroom. She felt the cold wooden desk on her back. How did she get here? She searched her thoughts. The last thing she remembered was Snape commanding her to come and then the most explosive orgasm she’d ever experienced and then darkness. She sat up quickly, dizziness making her wobble.
“Easy.” Snape said softly and steadied her shoulders. “You’ll be a bit weak for a while I’m afraid.”
“What happened?” She asked softly.
“You let go.” He said, a rare smile gracing his features. It made him look years younger and she couldn’t help but smile in return. She looked away, a blush gracing her cheeks and discovered that she was fully dressed. The ropes, the hook, the paddle, all evidence of their previous coupling were banished and she felt a pang of sadness at the thought.
“I’ll just get back to my potion then.” She said sadly.
“No.” Snape said softly. “You destroyed it. You’ll have to start over and I daresay you’ll need to restart Mr. Malfoy’s as well.”
“Oh no.” She said, her eyes tearing up. “I didn’t mean-“
“Stop.” He snapped. “You needed it. I dare say that your magic is a bit more stable now. Here,” he said, handing her wand to her. “Cast a few spells, see how you feel.”
She took her wand with trembling fingers and pointed it at the mess she’d spotted where her cauldron used to be. “Evanesco,” she said softly and watched in amazement as the potion disappeared. There were no sparks, none of the stones disappeared, nothing exploded. She cried in elation.
“See?” He said, his eyebrow quirked in amusement. “You let go.”
“I can cast again.” She breathed.
“A bit. You’ll need to go slowly but I think a few more sessions and you’ll have control again.” He said softly, his eyes shown with something she could have sworn was pride.
She couldn’t help herself. She flew off the desk and into his lap, kissing him fiercely. He didn’t hesitate to return her passionate kiss. His hands tangled in her hair and he laid her down on his desk. His lips worked their way down her body until he reached the collar of her blouse. Suddenly, the door swung open and they sprang apart. Draco walked in casually and then stopped mid stride when he saw what awaited him.
Ron walked in behind him with a tray of food and barely missed spilling it all. “What happened in here?” He breathed.
Hermione looked around guiltily. Ingredient bottles were shattered everywhere, their contents mixing onto the floor. Her and Malfoy’s cauldrons were in little pieces, the contents of hers already cleaned but his gooped onto the floor. The tables that Snape had hastily pushed against the walls were in splinters. In fact, looking around, it seemed that only his desk was unscathed.
“It seems that Mr. Weasley distracted Miss Granger to the point where she was reckless. She will spend the remainder of the day cleaning up. I’ll have her restart your potion again Mr. Malfoy. You can pick back up in the morning.”
Draco nodded, his mouth hanging open until he looked down at Hermione’s legs. A large smirk formed and his eyes twinkled knowingly. Unwilling to draw attention to herself, she fought to keep her gaze on Ron who was still looking around bewildered.
“Merlin Mione, I’m sorry. I won’t come in here again.” He said under the head of Snape’s gaze. “I, um, brought you some lunch. I thought you could use it since you skipped. I’ll just, um, leave it here.” He said, repairing a table and putting the tray of sandwiches on it. “See you later Mione.” He said softly and ran from the room.
Draco raised his brow as he flicked his wand to close the door. “Distracted ey?” He said, his voice thick with mirth as he once again made a pointed look at Hermione’s legs. She allowed herself to look and gasped when she realized what he’d seen. The rope marks were bright red where she’d struggled. She blushed fuchsia.
Snape merely quirked an eyebrow at him, daring him to say anything. Undeterred, he laughed heartily. “That’s some distraction.” He chuckled. “Don’t worry about my potion; I’ll just pick it up tomorrow.” He shook his head in amusement and walked to the door. “Next time, you might want to try a cotton cloth if you don’t want to leave marks.” He offered as he left.
Snape chuckled as the door shut again. “Remember,” he said softly as he flicked his wand to repair everything. He conjured a piece of cotton cloth as he stalked towards her. “You just have to let go.”
