Summary: Completely and totally fed up with Wizarding Britain, Harry walks off and leaves them to deal with things for themselves.
Dedication:To Rogue Mudblood.
Not only is Rogue a great friend I spend hours talking to, she's also the being that runs my mailing list, lets me bounce plunnies off her, gets roped into reading things I’m sure she'd rather not, listens to me pull my hair out when things aren't right or bothering me, reads partial chapters over when something is driving me nuts and helps me research. For that, I wanted to do something for her and this is it.
Enjoy, Rogue! And thank you for all you do for me. It's more appreciated than you know!
Beta'd by the most wonderful, amazing and stupendous Tenchi. Woman, you are the best and love you for all you do for me!

This story will show the aftermath of being raped. The rape itself will not be written out but the impact of it will be and it's a major plot point for this. If such things bother you, I would suggest that this story isn't for you. Also, going in, this is not for fans of Snape. I would also like to remind everyone that rape isn't about sex. Rape is a violent crime where sex is used as the weapon and the results of which are devastating for the victim.
I've tagged this the best I can with what I know is coming. Anything else needed will be tagged in the chapters where it appears.
Also, though canon-based, I'm playing with a lot of things. It will pretty much stay canon up to PoA but, after that, some things will come in and some won't. All will be explained as I write it as to what happened when and where. Most of the main characters will be in here though the timeline of what came to pass will be different or some events didn't happen. All that will be made clear as things are brought up.

Chapter 1
Standing at the foot of the stairs that led to the owlery, Harry was panting heavily, sweat beading on his brow. Looking up the flight of stairs, it seemed to resemble a climb the size of Mt. Everest tonight when, normally, he could dash up quickly, not thinking about how many there were. Standing there, he tried to build the courage to start making the climb. With the pain he was in, he wasn't wanting to do this but knew he had to. After several minutes of just standing there, hoping the pain would ebb, he started the long ascent to the top when it became apparent that the pain wasn't going away. This was his last stop and then he was gone.
Though, normally, it took him no time at all to reach the top, this time the climb seemed to take forever. He only hoped this wasn't for naught, that Hedwig was still there and not out hunting somewhere. Stopping at the top, he tried to catch his breath, in absolute agony, shaking all over, face pale. Straightening up, he looked around, trying to spot the snowy owl. Just when he thought that she must be gone, a familiar hoot drew his attention. Relieved that she was there, he slowly made his way in that direction.Coaxing her down onto his arm, he petted her gently then said, keeping his voice down, “I need you to go. You know the place I mean. I'm headed there myself and will probably arrive long before you do. They'll know to keep an eye out for you, alright?”Giving him a concerned look, she gave a hoot that seemed to mean she understood. Giving her a sad smile, he stroked her feathers. “Alright, off with you. It's going to be a long flight and I have to get going before anyone gets suspicious.”Ruffling her feathers slightly, the owl gave a more determined hoot then, after another look that seemed to say she was worried about him and an affectionate nibble on his fingers, she took to the air then flew out the window, disappearing into the night.Nodding, pleased, Harry then sighed and turned around, starting down the stairs as he pulled his invisibility cloak over himself. He hoped since the long walk was going downwards the whole way that this would be easier on him. As much pain as he was in, he wasn't all that sure that he could make it to the appointed meeting place but he was going to do his damnedest. Just so he was out of this bloody school and away from a great many in it, he didn't give a shite anymore. He was done and would be gone, one way or another.Slowly, face drawn in pain, he put one foot in front of the other and descended the stairs. The only thing that kept him going was knowing who was waiting for him once he was out of the castle and the knowledge that he would never have to step one foot back into the damned place again. No, everything wasn't in place and there were a lot of things that had to be worked out still when it came to this, but he bloody well didn't care at this point. Just so he was out, that's all he cared about.
Standing on the road to Hogsmeade, just outside the boundaries where the powerful wards to Hogwarts ended, Lucius Malfoy was behind a ward he constructed that made him invisible to anyone that would pass by. It's not that anyone would this time of night, mind you. Not only was it late, just before curfew at the castle, but it was bone chilling cold and looked as though it was going to start snowing again any minute,a gusty wind swirling what was already on the ground all over.
Pacing back and forth in the small space inside the ward, he kept glancing up the road leading to the ancient castle, waiting and worrying. This had to be bad. Though he had hoped that Harry could manage to stick things out and complete school or, at the very least, get through this year, he hadn't counted on that. Now he was wondering just what the ruddy hell had happened for the young man to contact him this late in the evening and how bad it was going to be.After another glance down the road to see if he couldn't see any footprints in the snow that would herald Harry's arrival and saw nothing, the older man gave a sigh then leaned against the stone fence behind him, brow furrowed. As one would expect, his mind was jumping to the worst case scenarios, gut clenching over them. Shaking his head, he refused to think about that though did ponder what could have been the breaking point. He knew things had been bad for Harry this year, worse than any year before, and the young man was about at his wits end when it came to dealing with all of it. He just wasn't sure what could have finally set him off to walk away. The letters he had gotten were an indication of just what the young man's life had been like this year, showing that Harry put up with a lot more than he, himself would have.Sighing, Lucius shook his head then pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to calm himself. He wasn't pleased with how this was going, knowing it was probably a boding of something really bad. While thinking about that, he began, once more, wondering what he could have done to change things for Harry. He had tried, there was no doubt about that, but Fudge, in his foolhardy wisdom, thought that he was doing what was best thus ensuring that Harry's life was a living hell for the second year in a row. After the year before, when Umbridge first came to the school, Harry had been ready to chuck everything and walk. He and Tom had managed to talk him into staying while Lucius had done everything in his power to get the moronic Minister of Magic to back the hell off. For once, though, Fudge, riding a wave of self importance, making sure that the news only printed what he wanted and everyone that didn't agree with him was portrayed in a bad light, didn't listen. By the end of that year, Lucius has been almost frantic in trying to get the man to back off but it hadn't worked. Then it was announced that Umbridge would be back this year. He knew that was bad news.Harry's letters to him mirrored the ones of the year before though, as time wore on, grew worse. Lucius, honestly, was surprised that the young man hadn't gotten himself expelled for completely losing it on the pink loving toad of a woman. However, as Harry had shown in the past, he kept up his courage, put his head down and did his best to tough it out. Even Lucius knew, though, it wouldn't work for long. The woman had it out for anyone that the Ministry perceived as in line with Dumbledore. When it came to Harry, however, it was even worse. He seemed to symbolize everything Fudge wanted people to ignore so she had gone out of her way to make his life a living hell. It was succeeding too from what Lucius knew, even though Harry hadn't been in step with anything Dumbledore wanted since the time his name had come out of that damnable goblet for the tournament and the headmaster had wanted to force him to compete. He and Tom, over the last two summers, had done everything they could to give Harry pointers on how to keep his head down and remain unnoticed, schooling him in the best way to stay out of the line of fire then trying to smooth the way for him from behind the scenes. From what he knew, not only from Harry but others that were in the castle, the young man was doing everything he could to stay out of the toad's way. It didn't work though. The vile woman invented things to pin on him so she could demoralize, punish and just flat out humiliate him. And everyone was either too scared or had their hands tied by something so they wouldn't or couldn't step in to stop it. If that wasn't bad enough, Snape was still giving the young man issues on top of everything else.Tom had made it a point to tell the Potions Master before the start of the term that he was to back the hell off Potter and leave him alone. Though he never told him why he was to do that, the point was clear. Though Snape had agreed, assuring him that Potter would be left alone, he hadn't done it. Harry's letters were a long laundry list of detentions at this point. If he wasn't in one with the toad, Snape made sure that he was in one of his. Hell, Lucius was surprised the young man actually had time to eat or do his homework from the schedule of them he had seen. Then there was the ominous, cryptic statements that Harry had begun to add about Snape. The young man had made it clear there was something, though he admitted that he didn't know what, about Snape that was 'freaking him out'. From what he had said, even being in the room with the man during class was making his skin crawl and causing panic. Being alone was even worse, the letters indicated. That didn't bode well either and made Lucius wonder what the hell was going on. From the letters, Harry didn't seem to know what the hell was causing it but it was very real to him, something that was, in his words, 'freaking him out'. On his end, Lucius had a deep sense of foreboding about it that he didn't like but couldn't shake either. Best he could do, though, was give the young man reassurances and tell him that if it got bad enough to let him know then he would get him the hell out. Now, well, it appeared that something had happened, because Harry had made the choice to leave.Trying not to think about how bad this could be, Lucius looked around, trying to see if he saw anything that could indicate that Harry was coming. So far though, there was nothing. Then, as the winds stilled for a few moments, he thought he heard some rustling. Focusing on that, he tried to pinpoint where it was coming from. As the winds once more began to pick up, blowing to where he couldn't hear the sound anymore, he looked in the direction he thought it had come from. Squinting, he scanned that way in the dim light that was around and saw nothing at first. Then, as the wind lowered again and he heard the rustling that appeared to be coming closer, he saw disembodied footprints approaching in the snow, now visible since the wind wasn't blowing what was already on the ground over them. Stiffening up, assuming this was Harry, he waited for the footprints to draw closer so as not to draw attention to himself in case, on the off chance, someone was around watching.Suddenly, the prints seemed to stop and there was a soft groan to be heard over the wind then the imprints of the knees and shins of someone appeared in the snow. Without a second thought, Lucius put a notice-me-not spell around the place then dropped the ward. Hurrying forward, he crouched down by the figure and whispered, “Harry?”Lifting the cloak a little so Lucius could see his face, Harry nodded then whispered through gritted teeth, “Get me the bloody hell out of here!”Seeing how pale the young man was, with beads of sweat on his forehead, face drawn in pain, Lucius nodded, “Alright.” Helping the young man to stand, he could feel him shaking as he leaned against him. Taking the invisibility cloak, he tucked it in his pocket then asked, “Do you have everything?”“It's all shrunken and in my pocket,” Harry told him, fighting off a wave of dizziness. Swiping away the sweat that felt like it was pouring down his face, he shook all over as the pain seemed to be worse than before. He supposed it was since the walk from the castle hadn't helped anything at all.
Putting an arm around Harry's waist to steady him, Lucius looked back at the snow and frowned when he saw a few droplets of blood where the young Gryffindor had been kneeling. “Harry? What happened? What's wrong?”
Landing in the front entryway, though Lucius had a good grip on him, Harry went to his knees, dizzy and shaking, taking great gulps of air to stave off the blackness that seemed to be dancing around the edges of his vision.
Lucius, alarmed knelt down by him, putting a hand on his backside. “Harry? What's wrong?” Pulling his hand away to help the young man up, he was alarmed to see a small streak of blood on his palm. Quickly, he put that together with what else he was seeing and felt sick. Yelling for a house elf, he sent the creature for as much blood replenisher as Tom had. Slipping an arm around Harry's waist, he helped the young man into a more upright position. As he was growing more alarmed at the color of Harry's face, Tom came in holding several vials of the replenisher.Having assumed that the potion was for Lucius, Tom had decided to bring it himself to see what the problem was. Seeing Harry on the floor in distress of some kind, he quickly knelt down and dumped one of the vials down the young man's throat. Looking at Lucius, he asked, “What happened?”Shaking his head, Lucius was about to tell Tom he didn't know when Harry spoke up.
“Snape. It was Snape,” Harry said, tone weary, shaking all over.
Lying on his stomach on the bed, Harry was trying to stay awake. Though not sure about such things, he had a good idea it was probably not wise to fall asleep right now. Tom seemed to be leaning that way as well since his hand was on his shoulder and he kept making sure he was talking to him in such a way that he had to actually make a form of conversation. All he could think about though was getting something for the pain he was in. Though he doubted any great length of time had passed since Lucius had left, it seemed like an eternity.
Just as he was starting to doze off, though he didn't want to, he felt a gentle hand on his head and a soft, feminine voice saying his name. Though it was a struggle, he opened his eyes and looked at the person. “Narcissa?”Smiling down at the young man, she nodded. “Yes, Harry. Now, I'm going to send Tom and Lucius out of the room so I can do some scans. Once I get those, I'll see what I can give you for pain.”Nodding, Harry shut his eyes again, feeling sleep pulling at him through trying to fight it.Looking at the two men, she told them, tone hushed, “Go. I need to do these scans and ask him some questions he probably won't want to answer in front of you.”“We'll be right next door,” Tom nodded, pulling Lucius with him as he walked to the door.Though not wanting to leave his young man, Lucius went reluctantly, figuring his wife knew what she was doing.
Five minutes later, while Tom was doing his best to keep Lucius right where he was and not letting him go take the revenge he wanted, Narcissa came back in. Face determined, she said, before anyone could ask, “You need to get him a real healer. He's going to need a form of surgery that I can't do.”
Face thunderous, Lucius snarled, clutching onto his cane.
“Lucius, you go. You have several you know that can do this. Pick the one that can best keep their mouth shut and get them here,” Tom told him. Turning back to Narcissa, he said, “How is he?”
