Draco groaned, but he didn’t even open his eyes at the cry. Harry smiled, coming to full awareness the second he heard it. The black-haired man rolled over and kissed Draco’s cheek and then stood as the cry came again.
Harry stood, stretching his back, before he left their bedroom and moved across the hallway, carefully opening the door. He saw her, her blonde hair illuminated by the moonlight streaming through the window. The small child was sitting up in her bed, her eyes open, but glassy as she stared at something only she could see. Harry let out a small sigh and then moved towards her bed.
“Lyra, baby…” He picked her up gently and she soothed, cuddling into his chest, her eyes blinking sleepily.
“Daddy?” The four-year-old looked up at him, a small smile on her face. “Did it happen again?” She asked, not remembering the nightmare that made her cry out.
“Yes, baby, it’s okay.” Harry kissed his daughter’s forehead. “You can come sleep with me and Dad.” He carried the small girl back across the hall to their bedroom.
Draco made a grumbling noise in his mostly asleep state as he scooted closer to the edge on his side so that Lyra could sleep comfortably between them. Lyra snuggled into the pillows, the blankets nearly swallowing her as her daddy laid down next to her. The two fell asleep rather quickly, small smiles on their faces.
The next morning Harry woke to a crashing sound and a muttered curse, he laughed as he realized what had happened. Draco stood up, looking indignant at the sound of Harry’s laugh.
“You think-“ Draco started, but Harry made a shushing motion with his hand, Lyra was still asleep. Draco growled out something that Harry couldn’t understand and then turned and went into their bathroom. Harry looked down at his little princess, gently smoothing the hair off of her forehead. Then he reached behind him and realized that it would take some tricky maneuvering if he wanted to get out of bed without falling, as Draco had done.
He smiled to himself, allowing his daughter to continue sleeping while he went into the bathroom.
Draco continued to grumble, but a soft kiss pressed to his lips was enough to shut him up.
“You love our Lyra, and you know it.” Harry said softly. “It isn’t her fault that she keeps having these nightmares.”
“I know. I would love to know how she manages to take up an entire king size bed all by herself though.” Draco said with a sigh, getting ready to jump in the shower.
“I don’t think we’ll ever know the answer to that question.” Harry said with a shrug. He smiled at his husband, who gestured for Harry to join him. “Not this morning, love. Lyra could wake at any time, I don’t want her to be alone.” With that he finished brushing his teeth and left poor Draco alone in the shower.

A/N: So I had to write this one-shot after me and a friend were speculating over how our daughters could take over our beds even though they are only two. So, this is what happened. I hope you enjoyed it!- 1
