The Challenge

Harry: Hey, Draco!
Draco: Yeah?
Harry: Where's the rest of the fic?
Draco: What do you mean?
Harry: I mean, shouldn't there be more?
Draco: Why? Didn't you like the ending?
Harry: Well yeah, but couldn't there be more?
Draco: There could, but the author doesn't seem to be writing anymore.
Harry: Why not?
Draco: Why not? Because she's kind of busy right now.
Harry: Doing what?
Draco: Well, it's almost Christmas, and she's working on several other fics at this point. You wouldn't want her to give those up, would you?
Harry: [excitedly] Oh! You mean like Into the Closet and Mind Games. I really like those! They're so much fun and [Author walks up behind and smacks him in the head] Ow!
roxierose13: Sorry about that, he gets a little carried away.
Harry: That was mean.
roxierose13: It was necessary.
Harry: Fine, but why can't you write more on this fic?
roxierose13: I think I might be out of ideas.
Draco: The reviewers seem to have lots of ideas.
roxierose13: Yeah...
Harry: Hey! I have an idea!
Draco: Oh no...
Harry: Hey! It's a good idea.
roxierose13: Let's hear it then.
Harry: You could give a sequel out as a challenge!
roxierose13: What do you mean 'challenge'?
Harry: Just make the sequel a challenge for an author.
roxierose13: But I've never given one of those before.
Draco: There's a first time for everything.
Harry: Yeah! It'll be great! You can tell them what you want in it and let them do what they want!
roxierose13: I dunno...
Draco: Come on, it'll be fun.
roxierose13: [sarcastically] Well, if Draco thinks it'll be fun, then it must be!
Draco: [scowling] It could be.
Harry: You could at least try it.
roxierose13: I guess I could. [turns to audience] What do you think? Would any of you be willing to take this on as a challenge and write a sequel for it?
Harry: Of course they would!
roxierose13: Of course! Everyone loves my work! [Draco's turn to smack someone] Ow!
Draco: Be a little more modest!
roxierose13: [grudgingly] fine. [mutters mutinously]
Draco: [rolls eyes] So what do you want the rules to be?
roxierose13: Rules?
Draco: Yeah, you need ground rules for the challenge, what are they?
roxierose13: Um...I dunno...All I really want is a happy ending.
Draco: That's it?
roxierose13: Yeah, they can still be in school or out. They only thing I really want is a good happy ending, not one of those melancholy ones, the ones where you smile to yourself and say, 'Aw, how sweet'.
Draco: How sickening.
roxierose13: Hey! It's my challenge. I'll do what I want.
Draco: [in annoyance] Of course you will.
Harry: Can they bring in the other characters more?
roxierose13: Sure! And they can do any pairing they want...although I like Blaise and Seamus myself...just a suggestion... Oh, and Harry and Draco have to end up together, of course.
Harry: Of course!
Draco: Like I would let someone take him away from me after all I went through.
Harry: Aw, that is so sweet.
roxierose13: [rolls eyes] Ugh.
Draco: Wanna go somewhere else?
Harry: Yeah! [they scamper off]
Author turns to face reviewers and audience
roxierose13: Well, what do you think? Anybody interested? All ya gotta do is have a happy ending, and mention my name and this fic somewhere near the disclaimer or something. I'd be happy to read it, and I promise to review it if anyone takes up the challenge!
[All reviewers scramble to their computers and begin typing fervidly. Roxierose13 smiles to herself and walks away to follow Harry and Draco.]
