A/N: I used "On The Way Down" by Ryan Carbera I don't own the song nor do I make money off of it. It's one of my favorite songs and it's just amazing! So this chapter is a bit longer than the others that's only because it just started to flow out of me and I got cared away! haha anywhere on with it! ENJOY! :D

Chapter 10: Can’t Believe

It was the night before the Hogsemeade trip and Ron, Harry, Lavender, Susan, Ginny, Draco, Hermione and Mitch were all in the heads common room setting a plan out for tomorrow. They would all try to ride together or at least with some one of their little party and the guys and Mitch would got their way and the girls would go their way. Once the plan was all set Hermione got up from the couch from beside Mitch and went into Mitch’s room, she came back with her guitar and gave it to her, “Sing us a song love,” she said with a smile when Mitch took the guitar and smiled as everyone gathered on the floor to watch her.

“I don’t know guys,” she said with a smile as she started to strum the instrument lightly.

“Aw come on Mitch at least give us a preview of what we’re gonna hear on Halloween,” Ron said with a smile. Everyone laughed and begged their new friend to play a song, sighing Mitch gave in to their pleas, “Okay, okay, let me think for a minute,” she told them as she started to tune her guitar thinking of the perfect song to do for her new friends and Hermione.

After a few minutes of thinking she finally found a song she wanted to do, “Okay this one isn’t my own but it’s one of my favorites hope you guys like it,” she said with a smile and began to play and sing.

“Sick and tired of this world there’s no more air trippin’ over myself goin’ no where waiting, suffocating no direction I took a dive” Every one around her had a smile on even the portraits couldn’t help but tap their feet to the rhythm of the song.

“And on the way down I saw you and you saved me from myself And I won’t forget the way you love me on the way down I almost fell right through but I held on to you” The girls couldn’t help but swoon, and get a little blush on their cheeks; the guys cheered Mitch on and bobbed their heads to the rhythm.

“I’ve been wonder why It’s only me have you always been inside waiting to breathe It’s alright, sunlight on my face I wake up and yeah, I’m alive” Now every one started to clap their hands and Mitch couldn’t help but smile as she continued to sing this song that had a meaning she loved so much.

“Cause on the way down I saw you and you saved me from myself and I won’t forget the way you love me on the way down I almost feel right through but I held onto you” Hermione looked up at the girl that she fell in love with and couldn’t help but get a little teary eyed during this song, because she knew that every word that Mitch was singing was to her.

“I was so afraid of going under but now the weight of the world feels like nothing no nothing,” Mitch didn’t take her eyes off Hermione since she started to play and sing this song. Hermione has been her rock since she’s been here. They would stay up late by the fire and just talk, she still wasn’t ready to reveal every detail about herself and Hermione understands that. She never thought she would find someone like Hermione and she was glad she did.

“Down, down, down You’re all I wanted Down, down, down, you’re all I needed now, down, down, down, you’re all I wanted you’re all I needed,” Everyone cheered as Mitch started to break it down on her guitar and they couldn’t believe just how amazing she could play. They couldn’t wait to see what she would do when she performs at the Halloween Ball.

“And I won’t forget the way you loved me all that I wanted all that I needed” Hermione and Mitch are all that they wanted and all that they needed little did they know that they would need each other more than that both knew.

“On the way down I saw you and you saved me from myself and I won’t forget the way you loved me on the way down I almost fell right through but I held onto you down, down, down but I held onto you down, down, down but I held onto you” As Mitch ended the song before she could ask what every one thought, Hermione had gotten up and kissed her not caring who was in the room at that moment. Everyone cheered and clapped, even the portraits whistled and cheered.

Smiling as they kissed for a moment longer they finally pulled away from each other. “I take you liked it?” Mitch asked everyone

They all started talking at once and all she could do was laugh, as everyone continued to talk Mitch looked at Hermione and whispered something in her ear. With a nod they both got up without anyone noticing and went into Mitch’s room. “Do you think they know we left?” Hermione asked as Mitch closed her door and locked it.

“I doubt it everyone’s excited about tomorrow I mean who could blame them. I’m excited myself,” she told the other girl as she set her guitar down gently beside her bed, then walked over to the small bookcase and looked through her DVDs. It was her night to pick a movie, and she wasn’t sure of what to watch. Almost every Friday and Saturday night Hermione would spend it with Mitch in her room. They would sit up and talk or Hermione would read a book from Mitch’s self as Mitch would be on her laptop looking through some songs she wrote or just writing a few lyrics here and there. Then one of them would pick a movie and they would both fall asleep to it.

“So what are you in the mood for tonight baby girl?” Mitch asked as Hermione made herself comfortable on the bed.

“How about a romance,” she suggested and Mitch smiled knowing the perfect movie. Looking a little further down she finally found was she was looking for,

“Okay found the perfect one,” she said as she pulled ‘A Walk to Remember’ from the self and took it out of the case and put in her DVD player. Dimming the lights with her hand she climbed into her bed next to the other girl and put her arm around her. Smiling, Hermione got closer as Mitch pressed play as the DVD menu came up and the movie started.

Meanwhile in the common room their little departure was still unnoticed to everyone, but they all knew that on Fridays and Saturdays the two girls just wanted to be alone. Smiling at the thought of their two friends everyone said goodnight and that they would see each other first thing in the morning. When Harry and Ron left last they were almost to their dorm when they heard voices knowing that they were out after hours they hid around the corner as the voices got closer they recognized them as Pansy’s and Jessie’s.

“Now don’t forget, tomorrow night you can put this potion in her drink and after two hours she will be head over heels for you,” Pansy explained as she gave her friend a small vile.

“Thank you so much Pansy I don’t know what I would’ve done without you,” Jessie said as she gave her friend a hug which Pansy surprisingly returned.

“What if it doesn’t work though?” Jessie asked as they pulled away from each other.

“Don’t worry it will work, it has loads of times trust me,” she answered her friend as they unknowingly passed Harry and Ron.

The boys stayed where they were until they were sure that the two girls were gone. They both looked at each other and nodded without a word they ran as fast as they could back to the heads dorm. Draco was just about to climb into his bed when he heard some one pounding on his door, knowing that it could be Harry or Ron he quickly walked over to his door and opened it and saw his two friends out of breath. Without another word he helped them over to the couches and waited patiently for the two boys to catch their breaths. After a few more moments of them finally calming down Draco asked, “Okay, guys what is it?”

“We were on our way to our dorm when we heard Pansy and Jessie talking about this potion,” Ron started

“Yeah, then Jessie was going to somehow put it in Mitch’s drink tomorrow night,” Harry finished. Draco looked at both of them and nodded without another word he walked up the stairs and knocked on Mitch’s door,

“Mitch you need to wake up it’s important-“

“Will you keep it down she’s sleeping,” Mitch whispered as she opened her door and stepped out closing it softly behind her. Before Draco could say another word Mitch motioned for him to be quiet and they walked down the stairs and she saw Harry and Ron and knew that it couldn’t be could.

“Okay guys let me guess it has to do with Jessie,” She said as she sat down in one of the chairs.

The boys nodded, “Jessie made a potion for you and she plans to put it in you’re drink tomorrow night,” Ron said in a rush. Mitch just nodded and looked into the dying fire, she didn’t say a word she knew that this was the first step in Jessie’s plan. She hoped that the next step wouldn’t be like the last time.

“So I just won’t drink anything tomorrow night, actually I have some of my own drinks here so I should be fine,” She said as she looked back at the boys.

“I think that’s a good idea, no it’s getting late and we all need some rest we have a big day tomorrow,” Draco said as he tried to hid his yawn. Every one nodded and said their goodnights, Harry and Ron left and as soon as the portrait door closed Mitch looked at Draco,

“This is just the first step it’s going to get worse,” she told him “I believe you on that, I know she’s going to do something to Hermione I can feel it,”

“She plans on doing something and I wanna know what it is,”

“I’ll ask around don’t worry Mitch we all have your back,”

“I can’t thank you guys enough for helping me out,”

“Hey it’s no problem now go back to bed she’s not gonna like it when she wakes up and you’re not there,” They both laughed a little and they bid each other goodnight and went to their rooms to get some sleep before the big day tomorrow.

Hermione rolled over and felt an empty space, waking up she saw that she was alone, “Mitch?” she asked in a groggy voice, just as the bathroom door opened. Mitch came out in her red basketball shorts and a small white t-shirt that showed off some of her muscle definition smiling and drying her hair which now she didn’t have her mowhawk anymore but short black hair and was up in a messy spike do.

She smiled and walked over to Hermione and sat down on the bed giving her a small kiss she said, “Morning beautiful,” Hermione blushed and said, “Morning to you to,”

“Why don’t you take a shower and I’ll meet you in the common room and we’ll head down to breakfast,” Mitch suggested. All the other girl could do was smile and nod giving Mitch one more kiss she left her room to get ready for the day. When Hermione was done with her shower and spending nearly and hour trying to find something to wear, she finally choose her plain white t-shirt over it she decided to wear her plain pink zip up hoodie along with a pair of jeans and her sneakers. She looked in the mirror debating whether or not she should do anything with her hair. Her hair wasn’t what it was like her first few years it actually calmed down and became a golden brown color with a few loose curls here and there. Finally deciding that she wasn’t going to do anything with it she pocketed her wand and put on the locket that Mitch gave her for her birthday a few weeks ago. She walked out of her room closing her door and saw Mitch sitting on the couch reading a book ‘She decided to wear her hat,’ she thought to herself as she got closer to the American she saw that she was wearing a plain white t-shirt, along with blue jeans and black and white converse.

Smiling she came up behind her and wrapped her arms around her and kissed the side of her neck, “Hey you,” Mitch said as she turned around and saw Hermione. “Hey yourself, you ready?”

“Yes ma’am” Mitch said with a smile marking her place in her book she grabbed her black hoodie and took Hermione’s hand in hers and they made their way down to the Great Hall to get a quick bit to eat and meet up with everyone. On their way there Mitch told her about what Jessie plans to do that night and that she would bring her own drink to dinner tonight. Hermione nodded and agreed that it was the smart thing to do, they reach the Great Hall and saw that everyone was gathered at the Gryffindor table, both of the girls smiled and walked over to their friends taking a seat they greeted each other good mornings and they began to eat and just being safe Mitch brought her own little bottle of orange juice. Draco, Harry, Ron, and Hermione, nodded as she pulled it out and she told them she would have a soda tonight at dinner, they all agreed that it would be for the best. After a few more bites of food everybody was ready to go. Making sure they had everything they made their way to the carriages, Hermione was being dragged by the girls and all Mitch could do was laugh. Draco quickly explained that the plan changed, Hermione would ride with the girls and spend time with them, and she would ride with the guys and they would show her around then after they would all meet up at the Three Broomsticks. Mitch nodded as she blew a kiss to Hermione who returned, both smiling they got into their separate carriages and were well on their way to the village.

“So how are you going to ask her?” Ron asked

“I’m not sure yet I think I’ll just casually ask,” She told him.

“Or you could be all romantic and get her something,” Draco suggested.

“Or she could just do her own little thing and ask her the way she wants to ask her,” Harry explained and Mitch laughed.

“I’ll figure it out guys,” she told them with a smile as they reach the village and Mitch held her breath.

She fell in love with the place it was a quiet little place well until Hogwarts students come that is. But everything was just so amazing she thought she was dreaming until she heard some one call her name she turned for a quick second and realized that Jessie was making her way over to them.

“Hey didn’t you guys wanted to show me that joke shop?” she asked as she tried to hide herself. The guys knew what she was doing and didn’t have to ask any questions. They quickly took her arm and led her to the joke shop and they all quickly drowned the crowd of students loosing Jessie within a few minutes. Sighing with relief Mitch turned back to her friends as they started to mess around with some pranks and gags all she could do was smile.

Hermione was being dragged into almost every dress store and she couldn’t remember that Hogsemeade had so many. She just smiled at her friends knowing as they tried on dress after dress where she tried on a few four to be exact and picked the third one so she was all set for the ball. She looked out the window of the fifth dress shop they went into and saw Mitch, Ron, Harry, and Draco come out of Quidditch store and she couldn’t help but smile when she saw Mitch laugh at something Ron said. She still couldn’t believe she found Mitch and that her world has been turned upside down. She wasn’t really alive until Mitch came into her life and opened her eyes to a whole new world. She couldn’t wait until the ball and finally have a real dance with her. She saw that the expression on Mitch’s face changed when she looked at her. Not understanding why she gathered her things to walk out just as she was about to walk out she saw Jessie and Pansy walk in. Horrified she sat back down as they walked around looking for dresses. She looked out the window again and saw that Mitch and the guys were rushing over to the store having Draco enter first then Ron then Harry.

Mitch got behind Harry ducking down to make sure Jessie didn’t see her. She made her way over to Hermione and took her hand thinking that they were about make a safe escape they heard, “Riley! There you are I’ve been looking for you,” Jessie said as she walked up to them as they turned around and tried to give Mitch a hug but she backed away.

“Jessie we’ve been over for almost a year can you just move on?” Mitch asked as Hermione squeezed Mitch’s hand letting her know that she was there.

“Oh don’t be silly it was only a break and now we can be together,” She said with a smile as she tried to hug her again, but again Mitch took a step back.

“No, Jessie we weren’t on a break I broke up with you and we are never getting back together,” she told her trying to control her temper.

“Give me a good reason why we shouldn’t be together,” Jessie asked as the crossed her arms across her chest.

“Because I have a girlfriend,” Mitch said as she looked at Hermione who looked back at her and smiled.

“Who? Her? You can’t be serious!” Jessie almost yelled.

“Oh I’m serious now if you excuse me I have a date with my girl,” Mitch said still looking at Hermione and they turned around and left the dress shop leaving an angry Jessie behind. The guys and girls soon followed after and told the new couple that they would meet them at Three Broomsticks.

“I can’t believe you told her that I’m your girlfriend,” Hermione said smiling.

“You’re not mad are you I mean, I was gonna ask you properly, but I didn’t know how an-“before Mitch could finish Hermione threw her arms around the girl and kissed her, Mitch smiled and kissed her back wrapping her arms around the girl that was kissing her. They couldn’t get enough of each other and Hermione knew that Mitch wouldn’t push her limitations not matter how comfortable she is with her Mitch respects her in every way possible that it just makes her love her more. Mitch loved the feel of Hermione in her arms she felt as if she was the missing puzzle piece in her life that she finally found. They finally pulled away from each other and smiled, “You talk to much when you’re nervous,” Hermione said with a laugh as she let her arms drop and took Mitch’s hand in hers lacing their fingers together she would take them to Three Broomsticks to meet up with everyone.

They finally made to Three Broomsticks and found their friends at a table near the center where they say a drum set a few guitars and a keyboard and microphones, “Since when does Three Broomsticks do bands?” Hermione asked as they sat down.

“I have no clue,” Draco said as they saw four guys walk out getting ready to do their show but they noticed that the lead singer was missing and before they could ask questions the other guitarist that had a buzzed hair cut with blue eyes and was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans and sneakers spoke into the microphone, “Hey everyone we’re Outsiders and as you can see we’re missing our lead singer and lead guitarist and I know she’s out there some where. Hey if you hear me get you’re ass on stage now,” Every one looked around to see if they could find the lead singer, Hermione turned to the seat that Mitch was in but only to find her gone just then some one strummed an electric guitar and said into the microphone, “Okay Hogwarts are you ready to JAM!” the person said and there where cheers and shouts and Hermione turned back around only to see Mitch up there with the band.
