Dangerous Escapism

After you," he waved abruptly towards the door, stepping ahead and opening it for them; a gesture of impatience rather than chivalry. They walked through and advanced a couple of steps into his entrance hall when he spoke. "One moment, if you please." They turned towards him, the after-effects of their efforts evident in their slow, careful movements. Snape raised his wand.
He was about to Obliviate them when Hermione spoke. "Professor - just thought you'd like to know, I fought off the Imperius curse a long time ago." Hermione looked at him with her eyes full... Desire, defiance, defeat... while Fleur just stared impassively at his collar.
"Yes, I know. Adequate work, Granger. Why do you think I bothered to threaten you with bad grades to ensure your compliance?"
Hermione Granger was apparently stunned into silence by this information, so Snape continued speaking. "And what about Mademoiselle here?" He glanced at the blonde part-Veela. Granger shook her head mutely. "And you... I expect that you are just a very good actress? That you continued to participate merely out of intellectual curiosity?" His face and voice held a trace of both smugness and amusement, perfectly aware of the implications of her ragged breathing and fevered, hunted gaze.
"N-no. I'm not. I didn't." Feeling unbelievably sated and content, Snape watched detachedly as Hermione Granger stared at his slippers. "Do you see something of interest, Miss Granger?"
"I...you..." Snape became suddenly uncomfortable at the look on Hermione's face. "Sir...tonight was...you can't imagine how I feel right now. I want...you can take my memory afterwards, but I just...need...Please...could you..." She left the sentence unfinished, but the meaning was clear. Her words died to barely a sound, and when they trailed off, she closed her eyes and slumped against the doorjamb. "Please?" She whispered, "I want you so much." Then she looked up at him with the most exquisite face of adoration and desire; beautiful in her anguish, hungry only for him to satisfy her.
"Even if I could, Why. On. Earth. would I want to? Obliviate!"

"I don't know why you felt it necessary to disturb me after hours on a Friday night. I'm tempted to take points, Granger." Snape swept past the two girls into the vestibule and through to the Potions classroom. "But sir," Hermione protested. "Enough!" Snape silenced her with a dismissive wave of his hand. "Just leave." He hustled them through the door and out into the dungeons - watching with glee as they tottered down the hallway, surreptitiously sniffing their hands.
A/N: The line "beautiful in her anguish" is a paraphrase of a line "...her face beautiful with anguish,..." that I've always remembered from the great trashy novel "The Witching" by Fritzen Ravenswood (sounds like a pen name). A good piece of smut-laden escapism, if you like that sort of thing. Came out in the early `80's - you should be able to get it at the library, or at a second-hand bookstore that specializes in horror novels.
Ooooh, that bad, bad man!!! Do you think he's gonna get away with it? Do you think he should? Remember, no Thelma & Louise, Dickens or Chekhov here!
There may be more. Do you want more? Do you want more? Do you want more? Do you want more?
Please look out for my other fic, A Harbour for the Heart, (not up yet) which will show a very different side of Snape with an OC DADA teacher (now that's original, eh?). It may not sound like much, but I guarantee plot twists you haven't seen before, and great writing!
I owe a debt of thanks to Anne Rice (although I confess that I don't really like her writing very much), for her Beauty trilogy, which introduced me to BDSM and much of my current lexicon. Here's the link to Anne Rice's website and a synopsis of the books. http://www.annerice.com/beauty.htm
