Hello! Time for another chapter. And as usual, enjoy. Please if you can, review.

Chapter Ten
“Why wasn’t I informed that you were deaf?” Lucius demanded imperiously.
“More than likely for the same reason I never told you the time of day I was born.” When all he did was frowned, she added, “Because that is information that only I find of import.”
Taking up her coffee, she watched as Draco helped his father over to the chair across from her. From the look of him, the elder Malfoy must have gotten as much sleep as she did. What rest she did get was thanks in large part to Severus. Crossing her legs, she cursed to herself as she managed to be reminded that thinking about the dark potions master resulted in her need to replace under garments more rapidly. Enjoyable as those thoughts maybe, it was playing havoc on the amount of laundry she needed to get done.
“Tell me, Miss Granger,” he murmured. “What makes you such a specialist in being in my position?”
“What do you mean?” she asked, silently offering coffee to Draco.
He turned down the hot beverage, as he tried to help his father by clarifying what he asked by saying, “He wants to know how you know so much of this grieving business you told him about.”
She snorted. “Anyone who has lost a pet knows the five steps of grieving, Draco. They may not acknowledge it or give them names, but they go through them just the same.”
“What sort of muggle nonsense is that?” Lucius growled.
“It’s the sort of nonsense that several genius muggles got right,” she told him dryly. “Wizards know magic. But as much as we can claim to know, the world of wizards doesn’t know a fraction of what is the human mind and the emotional life we can and do live. Grieving isn’t a weakness! It’s a part of the human experience! Just as is laughter and pain and every other emotion in between!”
“How do you know that?” Lucius demanded.
She stood up and went over to him, leaning down and whispering, “Because I’m alive.” Standing up straight, she announced, “I’m going to meet Ginny for a day of shopping and lunch. Enjoy your day without me, boys. I know it will most assuredly be a hardship, but somehow I know you shall carry on without me.”
She had been gone for five minutes before Lucius said, “I do not know what she speaks of. I shan’t miss her a wit.” He snorted in a rather insulted manor and added, “And I am no mere boy.”
Rolling his eyes, Draco said nothing as he got up and left the room. Sarcasm in this instance, he thought dryly, was totally lost on the man and he wasn’t going to be the one to point that out to him. His father may be blind, but he still had a wicked temper and aim that seemed preternatural as several house elves could now attest to. He was still trying to leave as noiselessly as he could when Lucius hit him with a stinging hex after he didn’t answer him. He most definitely hadn’t lost his aim.

“I’m so glad you came!” Ginny crowed as she hugged her in greeting. “We thought you were being held prisoner what with our owls returning unanswered.”
“Owls?” she murmured. “Where did you send them to?”
“To you,” Ginny said, as she pulled back. “But they never found you.”
“For good reason,” she told her. “We’re in an unplottable location.” She held her hand up. “Don’t bother to ask. As long as Malfoy is in danger, it’s for the best no one knows where he is.”
“The Malfoy properties are all unplottable,” she pointed out to her.
Hermione shook her head. “Not when approximately half of the Ministry and a third of the aurori know where they are, Ginny. Just think of the numbers of raids due to his life long probation on his holdings this year alone.”
Ginny was basically forced to agree with that. After all, didn’t her own father know where all of the man’s holdings were? “That means he isn’t on one of his own properties.”
Smiling as they stepped into the parlor, Hermione announced, “And give that woman a cigar!”
Wrinkling her face with humor. “I’d much prefer chocolate.”
“It’s a muggle axiom, but if it makes a bit of difference muggles have been known to make chocolate cigars.”
Puzzled the redheaded witch asked, “How ever do they smoke them?”
Hermione was about to tell her they were candy one ate when Ron and Harry tackled her with bear hugs. She was barely able to keep her balance under the siege, but was laughing the entire time it was going on.
“Did you finally come to your senses?” Harry asked, as they pulled back.
“I knew you’d see reason sooner or later,” Ron said. “Though I must say I would have thought you’d out stubborn them for another week or so.”
Looking at them both flatly, she said, “I needed a break and I stopped by to see if Ginny wanted to nip off to the shops for some retail therapy and a bite to eat.”
“Ooh, shopping! I’ll be ready in a blink!” Ginny rushed off to get ready to go out.
“So you haven’t left Malfoy to his own devices yet?” Harry asked, looking rather grim faced.
“Can’t say as I have, but I must admit trying to assist him is much like a odd dance where most of the movement seems to be happening in reverse,” she muttered. “The man is about as stubborn as you are, Ron. At least you have the ability to admit when you’re wrong.”
“He does?” came from Harry who received a glare from the young wizard in question.
“True, it’s usually later rather than sooner, but he gets there eventually,” she teased the youngest Weasley male.
“Ha-ha, it is to laugh,” he muttered to which the other two chuckled.

Both witches were laughing and having a wonderful time despite not finding a single thing to buy. But like Ginny had pointed out to Hermione on many a occasion in the past it wasn’t the goal, but the journey. Hermione didn’t care for the journey or the goal. For her it was about spending time with her friend, not so much about procuring the latest in fashion.
Soon enough they ended up at the local wizarding pub with a butter beer and an order for two of the lunch specials of the day.
“This has been a wonderful time,” Hermione told her, taking a sip of her drink. “I’m the only witch there and I was getting a little overwhelmed by the testosterone.”
“You can leave,” Ginny told her. “There’s nothing keeping you there.” The younger witch’s eyes narrowed. “Or is there?”
“What are you talking about?” Hermione asked, wondering if she had given something away to her unintentionally.
“Okay. Who are you sleeping with?” she demanded. “Out with it.”
Rolling her eyes, she asked her, “What do you mean? Do I have to be sleeping with one of them?”
“With that blush heating your cheeks? Oh I know it,” Ginny said smugly. “I just don’t know which one. Just please tell me it isn’t Lucius.”
“It isn’t Lucius,” she told her plainly, feeling her cheeks as confusion filled her mind. “I’m blushing?”
“If you were blushing anymore, you could have set a blaze I’m sure,” her friend told her.
“But I wasn’t and am not embarrassed by my liaison with…Severus,” She had paused, but felt the compulsion to finish what she was saying. “Oh Merlin.”
“What?” Ginny asked, looking at her oddly. “Is your butter beer off as well?” She frowned. “I was going to return it as soon as the waitress came with our food.”
“There’s Veritaserum in the drinks,” she said quietly. “When taken with alcohol it can make the drinker flush or greatly deepen a blush.” Looking into Ginny’s widening eyes, she told her, “Go ahead and ask.”
“I didn’t do it!”
“I know that,” Hermione said, standing up and tossing coin onto the table for the drinks and canceled the orders for lunch. “I figured if there were any time that you would satisfy your deviant curiosity, it would be now. Like take for instance my need to absolutely ask you if Harry is as hung as the rumors I heard in school implicated.”
“You didn’t actually ask,” Ginny pointed out, giggling as she joined her friend.
“I said I had the need to ask, it doesn’t mean I wanted or needed to know,” Hermione replied. “We have to go to Hogwarts.”
Puzzled Ginny inquired, “Why?”
“I’m pretty sure we have tracking spells on us as well,” she murmured. “And I don’t know about you, but Hogwarts is about as safe a place I can think of where we can start figuring all this out.”

Wow, and there went chapter ten and the beginning of our mystery! Thank you for all of your wonderful feedback. I really do count on it to help my writing get better.
So time again for my favorite game Famous Last Words: Movie Edition! The answers to the last quote are "Jumanji" and was spoken by either Sarah Gilson or Florica Vlad (uncredited spoken line), but as I said if you could tell me who were in the starring roles that was cool too. And that was Robin Williams and/or Bonnie Hunt. The film was directed by Joe Johnston. A big round of applause and a memorial day brunch goes to Kaida who not only knew the movie, the stars, and the director, but the girls walking on the beach at the end of the movie!! A lovely picnic basket goes to genesismom who knew all the answers! Brownies go out to JuliaBlack for knowing the movie and the stars. If I missed you, I'm sorry.
Time for the next quote! "You're still here? It's over. Go home. Go." Okay and here are your clues! This teen flick of the 1980's took the time to tell us all to stop to smell the flowers before time's up. In an apropos move, I ditched high school to go see this movie with my best friend and my sister. Well, there you go! Enjoy your weekend everyone!
