Spring came and with it, Quidditch. Harry organized the team and began to order practices and drills regularly. Fenrir was annoyed that he didn’t get to see the boy, but he would go into the Forbidden Forest and watch Harry practice Quidditch. It wasn’t enough, but it was all he had. Hermione and Salazar put as much effort as they could in their studies, satisfied to just lie in bed together at night in exhaustion courtesy of their head boy and head girl duties. There were weekly letters from Voldemort and Lily, and neither Salazar nor Harry were surprised to read in early April that Lily was pregnant. Salazar told Hermione he’d expected it. “Really?”
“Think about it, she had two children and didn’t get to raise either one. That has to haunt her. I’m happy for them. I hope they are really excited.”
The final Quidditch match loomed ahead and Harry was nervous. If they won, they won the House Cup. And it would be his second victory as team captain for Gryffindor. But they were playing Slytherin. He didn’t like seeing Salazar torn in who to support, and he knew that their parents would be there. Granted, his parents would be disguised; but still, Harry knew they would be there. He hadn’t seen them since winter break and was nervous. Life had changed so much for them; they’d told Salazar and himself that they were immortal now and Lily was now going on four months of pregnancy. Harry was glad for them. Voldemort seemed really different, now that Lily was back in his life.
He ate breakfast that morning, a pit growing in the bottom of his stomach. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “You’ll be fine, Harry,” Hermione smiled at him. “It’ll be a good game.”
“I know,” Harry sighed, “I just get nervous.”
“There’s no pressure, so just relax,” she took his hand, “it’ll be alright, Harry. It really will be.”
Salazar entered his and Hermione’s rooms that morning to see his mother and father sitting on the couch, “Sorry I’m late, I had to talk to the Slytherin team and wish them luck. How are you doing?”
“Very well,” Lily stood up and hugged her son, “very well. Are you and Hermione alright?”
“Just tired,” he gave a half-smile, “and not for the reasons I’d like. We’ve been really busy lately with people not behaving themselves. The sneaking off to make out I don’t mind. But when they’re trying to duel each other in the hallways…”
“It annoys us,” Hermione finished, shutting the door behind her. She kissed Salazar before speaking again, “Harry’s headed down to the locker rooms. We should go find our seats,” she smiled and turned to Lily and Voldemort, “it’s good to see you again.”
“A pleasure as always to see you,” Voldemort smiled at her. “Lily, it’d be a good idea if our appearances changed now, I think.”
“Excellent idea,” she leaned up and kissed him, watching as he transformed into a large raven. Hermione grinned. Of course Voldemort would be a ‘dark’ animal. He perched on Salazar’s shoulder, gazing around. Lily shook her head, “It is a good thing I can transform into something small,” she sighed. Hermione and Salazar watched as Lily transformed into a snake.
“I find this perfectly appropriate,” Salazar said to Hermione as she scooped up Lily in her newly transformed state.
“I’m not learning to transform into a snake, Salazar. Don’t even think it.”
“I’m not,” he smirked. They exited the room.
Salazar and Hermione sat together in the professors’ box, one of the perks of being Head Boy and Head Girl. The raven and snake sat with them, the bird perched on Hermione’s shoulder and the snake on Salazar’s shoulder. Severus Snape sat next to Salazar, watching the game. No one knew that Lily was alive, save Hermione, the two boys, Fenrir, and Voldemort. Intentionally they all kept quiet. Once Salazar and Harry had both graduated, Voldemort decided then they would announce Lily’s survival.
The teams walked onto the field, Draco and Harry shaking hands and climbing onto their brooms. Soon the whistle was blown and they were off. Gryffindor had possession, but Slytherin stole the quaffle and soon scored. Hermione groaned and Salazar just smirked. “We’ll make a comeback,” she said to him.
“We’ll see,” Salazar forced a smirk. Hermione reached over and took his hand. He leaned over and kissed her cheek before returning his attention to the game.
Harry twice saw the snitch, but with Gryffindor behind, he couldn’t lunge at it. He kept Malfoy off of it, though. Finally they were sixty points ahead. If they won now, they’d take the House cup as well as the Quidditch cup. He looked eagerly for it, flying high. He saw it at Gryffindor’s goal posts. Harry immediately took off like a rocket, racing after it. Easily he outpaced Malfoy, who saw it too late. Harry lunged and grabbed the snitch, a whistle going off and Gryffindors all around cheering happily for Harry and the team. The Slytherins looked annoyed, but there at the end of the field Harry saw Salazar standing up and applauding, smiling at him. Harry grinned at his brother as he made his way to the box. Hermione hugged him. Harry saw the raven and snake and smiled, but hugged his brother, “Good job, Harry,” Salazar whispered into his ear.
“Thank you,” Harry responded, pulling away and turning to face McGonagall, who handed Harry the Quidditch cup with a smile and congratulations. The team jumped in joy as the Gryffindors poured onto the field.
Salazar and Hermione returned to their rooms with Voldemort and Lily. Once inside, Salazar’s parents transformed back to themselves. “That was an exciting match,” Lily said.
“He flies well,” Voldemort muttered.
Hermione pulled Salazar into her bedroom and kissed him deeply, “I think I might need to go see my Gryffindors, Salazar.”
“So long as I get you tonight, we’re fine,” he smiled at her.
“It has been a long time hasn’t it,” she teased. “I’ll be sure to only be gone a few hours.”
A knock on the door distracted them. Voldemort and Lily entered Salazar’s room and Salazar opened the door to reveal Harry. “Congratulations Harry,” Hermione hugged him, “now I need to go make sure we still have a common room. Excuse me.”
“Sure Hermione. I’ll be up in a bit.” He let her step out and shut the door. Salazar warded it and their parents exited his bedroom.
“Congratulations Harry,” Lily grinned, kissing him on both cheeks and hugging him, “you were wonderful.”
“Very impressive, son,” Voldemort said, a smile on his lips. Harry grinned as they both hugged him. This was nice, having a family. A real one. They chatted briefly before his parents offered to throw a celebratory party when Salazar, Harry and Hermione graduated.
“Can Fenrir come?”
“Of course he can,” Lily said, “he misses you very much, Harry.”
“I miss him too,” Harry said, “I’ve just been so busy lately with school and quidditch. But I’m done with quidditch, at least. Soon I’ll just have school left.”
“Any thoughts as to what you want to do when you graduate?”
“I’ve thought about playing professionally; but I’m not sure I’m that good.”
“You are Harry,” Salazar told him. “You’re really good.”
“You’re just saying that cause you’re my brother.”
“Well yeah, but still,” Salazar smirked, “you’re really talented at flying. And if that’s your favorite thing, you should do it. I feel the same way with Transfiguration.”
“I guess you’re right,” Harry smiled. “You think Fen would approve?”
“Of course I do, whatever you want is fine with me,” a deep, rough voice came from behind him. Harry turned to see Fenrir and immediately leaped up to kiss him, his arms wrapping around his neck as Fenrir’s hands held him up. They kissed hungrily, Salazar and his parents averting their eyes as the couple was reunited for the first time in two months.
“Granted I do the same thing with Hermione here, and actually alot more, but if you’re gonna make out go somewhere else please.”
“Party pooper,” Harry muttered.
“You could come with me,” Fenrir whispered.
“I wish I could. But I have to go see my house and celebrate with them. Maybe later I can sneak out to the Shack and see you,” Harry looked up at him, curious as to his reaction.
“I’d like that,” he grinned, “I’d enjoy having you with me tonight. I’m going nuts being on my own.”
“We’re nearly done being apart,” Harry whispered.
“Good,” Fenrir mumbled.
Harry left, bidding farewell to his parents and hugging them both. Salazar went out on patrol in Hermione’s place, as she was still with the Gryffindors. Voldemort and Lily stayed on his couch, debating what they should do. “Maybe we should go home,” Voldemort said, his arm around his wife.
“Maybe we should,” she took his hand and placed it on her stomach, “I love you.”
“I love you,” he leaned down and kissed her. “Home?”
“Sure. But first we should wait until Hermione or Salazar returns. I don’t want them to worry about us.”
“Can we entertain ourselves until then?” He pulled her into his lap and kissed her deeply. Lily moaned into his mouth, savoring the feel of her lover against her.
Too soon for Voldemort’s tastes she pulled away, “I don’t want them walking in on us. Once we’re home, my body is yours,” she kissed his cheek.
“Sounds good to me,” he breathed, leaning in to kiss her once more.
“Of course it does,” Lily smiled against his lips, “you can’t keep your hands off me.”
“The same goes for you,” he pushed her down on the sofa, his lips hovering over hers, “tell me you don’t want me right now.”
“You know I can’t, my love,” she whispered.
“Don’t want to wait,” he said softly before kissing her once more. Lily groaned into him, her hands reaching up to his head and holding him against her.
Hermione opened the door to her living quarters to find her soon-to-be-in-laws making out feverishly, “Excuse me,” she said gently. The couple stopped, Lily blushing. Voldemort didn’t appear to care one way or another.
“We lost control of ourselves for a minute,” Lily said, pushing him off of her. “We wanted to wait and tell you goodbye.”
“We’ll see you soon,” Hermione smiled as they stood up from the couch.
Lily hugged her, “Keep an eye on my boys for me, Hermione. I would but I have my hands full with this one.”
“She started it,” Voldemort accused. He pulled Hermione against him, “I’ve already contacted your parents, and they love the idea of a joint graduation party,” he smiled down at her.
“Thank you,” she said, squeezing him before backing away, “you should go now. Salazar will be back soon.”
“Of course,” Voldemort bowed and took Lily’s arm in his own, “we will see you very soon, Hermione. My best to my sons.”
“I’ll tell them,” she smiled. They Disapparated.
When Salazar returned she was waiting for him in her evening robe, “I’ve missed you,” she whispered.
He grinned and pulled her to him, kissing her hungrily. “I love you Hermione. And we’re not leaving our bedroom for anything tonight.”
“Sounds good to me,” she smiled. He picked her up and they entered his bedroom, “I love you too, Salazar.”
“I know it,” he lay her down and they made love passionately and gently.
Harry managed to escape the festivities at around midnight. He pulled his cloak out of its hiding place and snuck out of the castle to get to the Shrieking Shack. Once inside he headed upstairs. “Fenrir?” He wasn’t there. Harry frowned. They’d promised to see each other tonight. Maybe…maybe Fenrir didn’t want him anymore…
“Harry,” a whisper was heard from downstairs. Harry ran downstairs to find his lover collapsed on the floor, his eyes closed.
Harry saw blood and lost his voice. His lover was injured. “Wh-what happened?” he finally found the words and ran over to him.
“Order…attacked…werewolf village…went to help…got blindsided…” Fenrir stopped talking as he grunted in pain.
“Let me go get Dad,” Harry said.
“Don’t leave me, Harry,” Fenrir grabbed him, “please don’t leave me.”
“I won’t,” Harry frowned and suddenly had an idea, “Expecto Patronum!” A wolf emerged from the tip of his wand and he spoke to it, “Get a message to my Dad. Tell him Fenrir is injured and needs help.” The wolf ran off and Harry sat down, holding his lover’s head in his lap. “I love you, Fenrir,” Harry whispered, stroking Fenrir’s temple gently, the werewolf’s eyes closed.
