Manifestations
Gryffindor Tower.
Something was wrong. Harry couldn't find Draco in is mind, he couldn't feel Draco's reassuring life pulse, it was as if Draco was entirely gone. Harry started to shudder. Something had gone terribly wrong indeed. He was about to pull on his cloak and go after that meddling prat of a potions master when the curtains on his bed closed around him sealing him in. Harry started to panic until he saw a soft silvery glow from the foot of his bed. The face of Vona appeared. Hauntingly beautiful as before, yet scary just the same.
"Be still Harry, You will need strength to get through this, but know that He is not dead, his mind cannot be reached as he is in a dormant state. Be still. Rest, on the morrow your strength will be needed," she whispered and faded.
Harry was still shaken by the total lack of connection to Draco. He felt alone, empty, torn in two, and he was not liking it at all. He was fitful, and rolled over several times, unable to get comfortable, his stomach in knots from worry and his mind racing over every detail on how he could get to Draco. He was not sure the form, but he would find out from Snape tomorrow no matter what happened. He had to know.
A whisper of a silver hand glided over his head, his eyes closed, and he drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
"Harry, Mate... We will be late for potions if you don't get your arse out of bed!" Ron was all but screaming at Harry.
Harry bolted awake, scrambled to his draws and ran to the bathroom nearly knocking Ron out of the way who grunted, "Oy, in a bit of a hurry?". Harry just grunted back.
Ron barely caught up with Harry as they entered the Potions classroom. Harry looked around then stared at Professor Snape pinning him with a piercing green gaze, lips thin. Professor Snape set his jaw, unnerved by that stare, something was going on.
Trying to keep his Teaching persona up, he started into the lecture on a dreamless sleep drought that they were to make today. It would contain mouse tails, beetle dung, and several other ingredients that the students had worked with in the past.
Each went to the store closest to grab their ingredients, with Lavender Brown coming out last with what looked like a small rat, not a mouse.
As she moved towards her table, Harry felt wrenched. There was something wrong here, and he didn't know what, but he felt as if part of him were being handled by Lavender Brown.
Snape looked up at Harry when he stood, his eyes traveling to the "mouse" in Lavender’s hand and gasped, she had grabbed Draco. He was about to point out her mistake of rat over mouse, when the room became electrically charged.
His eyes darted to Harry who had stretched out his arms, palms facing out. His eyes were closed and a glowing red current shot out of both his hands. One extended towards Lavender, and the other branched off multiple times to encapsulate each student in a bubble of power, each completely unaware. The other wrapped around Lavender’s arms and chest, the end curling around her hand to pluck Draco out of it. As soon as the electrical current touched Draco, Snape saw Harry open his eyes and was gobsmacked. The familiar green of Lilly's eyes were gone, to be replaced by an ice blue glow.
Draco was lifted slowly and placed on Snape’s Desk.
"Undo what you have done, find a new way, this is unacceptable. Take him now and return him to form." Harry said in a voice that was laced with power, passion, and authority.
Snape felt his body jump to obey, arms lifting, hands gently cradling the small rat, and his feet walking. In his head Snape was trying to stop it all to talk to Harry, but his whole body felt like it was imperioused, but not. Obeying, but not totally under control.
Snape was walking towards his private office, He put Draco down on the nearest table and his hand and wand performed the reversal charm on Draco of their own accord. Draco still sleeping filled out into his own form as he laid on the table.
Harry walked up behind Snape, the red currents tied together behind him, still holding the class in a sort of stasis. His eyes were a blazing blue as his hand gently lifted to Snape’s wand shoulder, and Snape was in awe and shock as his hand began a pattern he had never known, and muttered an incantation he had never heard nor understood.
Draco began breathing in an even pattern, his body became clothed in a thick woolen cocoon and lifted into the arms of the Professor. They moved as one towards the stone wall, Snape thought they would crash right into it, when the wall parted of its own accord, shifting pipes and rock out of the way. They walked downward, lower and lower into the belly of the Castle, new passageways creaking into existence as they continued forward, Harry's hand never left the Professor's shoulders, his eyes glowed so bright that there was no need for lumos, they were light. Suddenly Snape found himself at the entrance to something, a large metal door locked by many snakes blocked their path.
Harry spoke parsletonge to it, and the door creaked open revealing the Chamber of Secrets that Snape had heard of, but never seen. As they walked in he could see the Basilisk Skeleton, skins, and the smoothness of the carvings. With each step taken, thick blankets of dark green moss rose to meet them, blanketing the chamber as they advanced. They stopped in front of the mouth of the statue, and the moss spread quickly into the form of a bed just big and soft enough to hold the form of Draco wrapped tightly in the woolen cocoon.
Snape felt himself kneeling down to put Draco down, arraigning him comfortably, and standing once again, not once did Harry's hand leave his shoulder. Harry's gripped tightened and lifted himself and Snape in the air, and they flew back through the passage quickly as it closed in on itself, sealing Draco in the deep belly of the castle safe and sound.
Once back in the potions classroom, Snape was settled back in his spot behind his desk and Harry resumed his position, gathering the red electrical currents, snapping his fingers and all dissipated as if nothing had happened. Students continued working, even Lavender had gone back for another mouse and was at her desk working on her potion. Snape just stared at the now green eyes staring back at him in mirroring his own fear. Harry looked to speak, but Snape waved it off and mouthed 'after class'. Harry nodded, but started shaking violently and then collapsed.
The room gasped, Hermione and Ron were instantly at his side, talking to him trying to get him to come round.
Hermione looked pleadingly at Snape to do something.
"As always, Potter the drama Queen.” Snape drawled to the class, "Continue your work as I take him up to the infirmary."
Getting closer to Harry was strange enough, having to lift him in his arms after what he had just witnessed, was mind boggling. Still he lifted Harry and carried him towards the door, Hermione and Ron made to follow, but Snape shook his head, "you can see him AFTER your potion is brewed."
Snape headed towards the infirmary, only to be halted in an abandoned hall by what looked like one of the castle ghosts. "Excuse me...What Ghost are you? I need to get this boy to the infirmary." Snape said exhausted.
"I am not a ghost, but a guide. You will take him to his room, he has lost a lot of energy today and needs his rest." The silvery woman said. Then vanished.
Snape gapped. He tried to head towards the infirmary again, only to be blocked by a silver wall, so he headed back towards Gryffindor Tower.
When Snape got back, he informed the two of the trio that Harry was resting in his room. They nodded and went off to see him.
Snape sat back after all the students left to ponder what had happened. Draco was safe, though it was stupid to think hiding him as a potion ingredient would work since students evidently can't tell a rat from a mouse. But why had Draco slept through it and not moved out of the way? There had to be something that went wrong. And he could barely comprehend what happened with Harry, how had he known, and what exactly had he done?
